Nearby soldiers cried out in panic, causing a commotion. Saint Sebastian hovered in mid-air, swallowing the chewed-up soul. He did not make eye contact with Margaret, but spoke in a tone only they could hear: "This way, he is completely gone."
There was one more thing Saint Sebastian did not mention.
He wanted to retain Mephisto's scent within himself forever by devouring his soul.
In the long and desolate years, even though Saint Sebastian was reluctant to admit it, Mephisto was still like a brother to him. Of course, the word "brother" sounded ridiculous and laughable, hardly appropriate for describing the relationship between demons.
But he could find no better word for it.
