There was clear distaste in the idea from the short-haired, young woman as she sat there on her knees in the charred jungle.
"That's your game, I see. To ask me something like that…" Veil exhaled.
It wasn't a surprise to Zero, knowing anybody at her level of skill held a stubborn pride in their abilities.
"It's not like you have much of a choice. Think about it—wouldn't it be fun to fight against the whole world? The ultimate proving ground for your skill?" Zero proposed, knowing that it was a deal that simply could not be declined.
"It sounds like a quick way to die to me," Veil promptly answered, picking herself up with a delayed sigh, "…However, rejecting your offer is an even more surefire way of dying. So, I'll accept."
"I knew a cautious person like you would see reason," Zero remarked with a smile.
