Chapter 86 - Prom Night Part One

The crowd of students and teachers cheered as Samuel reached them and threw Edmund towards the pile of tied up gangsters.

"Dude, that was awesome. I never imagined that you were capable of taking down so many gangsters at the same time", McCollin praised as he placed his arm around Samuel's shoulder.

"Yeah! Isn't he great? I'm so proud", Elizabeth said happily as she hugged him.

"Thanks. You know I'll never let anyone talk down on you ever", Samuel said as he hugged her back, her smile getting brighter than ever before.

He then turned to McCollin, "When will the police get here?" Samuel asked but before McCollin could answer, his ears picked up the sound of sirens approaching the school from a distance.

"Oh, there they are", he said as they turned to the school's entrance to see multiple police cruisers and trucks rushing onto the campus grounds.

Multiple fully-geared Swat and regular police emerged from the trucks and cruisers, and proceeded to surrounded the entire perimeter of the school.

The sergeant in charge approached the crowd and spoke to the teachers while the other officers round up the gangsters, replacing their restraints with officially issued handcuffs, and proceeding to load them up in a few of the trucks.

The Sergeant had a hard time believing the tale that a single student managed to manhandle several dozen armed gangsters and asked to see this student.

After he was pointed in the right direction, he turned to take a look at the supposed hero of the day. His heart almost skipped a beat when he saw Samuel and Elizabeth standing together.

As a high-ranking officer in the Sienna Metropolis Polic Department, he was well aware of the events from a few years ago involving the Regional Superintendent's daughter, the son of the Griffin family and the Death Rain Gang. All his doubts were cleared instantly and he decided to take charge of the situation.

He met with Samuel and Elizabeth and after they spoke for a while, the police left with the gang members leaving a few officers behind to make sure everything else was in place and escort the students to their homes. Several tow trucks soon arrived and towed the gang's trucks away.

.....

Three days before prom night, Samuel and Catherina were each in the city shopping for their prom outfits with their friends. Using his dad's connections, Samuel had found the best shop to hook him and his friends up with the best tuxedos money could buy.

Elizabeth and her friends were in a similar situation. With a recommendation from her mother, they had found the best shop with the finest gowns appropriate for a high school prom.

After their shopping trips, they all spent the next few days working on perfecting their dance moves. It would be a real shame to wipe out on the dance floor when the time came.

On the morning of the Prom, the friends gathered once again in preparation of the events of the night. The boys spent majority of their time at the barbershop getting the best haircuts for such a spectacular occasion.

After they were done, they spent the rest of the day at a massage parlor in order to relax their bodies that had been strained from all the dance practices.

Of course, Samuel didn't have that problem but he joined them just because.

The ladies on the other hand visited the massage parlor first before spending the rest of the day in a beauty salon; working on their hair, nails and make-up.

They had every intention of making tonight one to remember for the ages. Arrival at the venue was set to be from 6:00pm to 7:00pm and the main program is scheduled to commence at exactly 7:15pm.

While all the final year students were preparing for the prom, the event planners and other contracted staff were putting the final touches in place. Everything from the lights, to the red carpet were in place. Multiple security personnel were stationed around the entire venue to prevent surprises like what happened the week prior.

....

At exactly 6:15pm, Samuel was in front of Elizabeth's house in his sparkling black tuxedo, with a beautifully wrapped corsage in his hand.

Behind him stood a black Hummer Limousine with his driver, Alfred, standing next to the open door.

Already in the car, were his friends alongside their dates, as they had already picked them all up on their way to Elizabeth's place.

The Smith family butler, Borris, opened the door with a smile. "Welcome Master Samuel, and might I say, you are looking quite dashing this evening", Borris complimented as he invited Samuel into the mansion.

"Thanks a lot, Borris", Samuel said with a smile and entered the mansion only stopping once he reached the lobby.

Elizabeth's dad, Alex. Smith, who volunteered to serve as the chaperone for the prom, appeared in his fashionable tuxedo with his wife, Charleen by his side.

"Samuel…welcome, you're looking quite good in your tux", she greeted and complimented Samuel's outfit. Samuel blushed in embarrassment as he thanked her.

Alex laughed loudly as he patted Samuel on the back. "Of course, he's becoming a man after all, he needs to look his best for our daughter", he said and laughed again.

A few seconds later, Elizabeth appeared at the top of the staircase in her radiant prom dress.

"There's my baby girl…all grown up and going to her prom", Charleen said with her hands covering her mouth as tears threatened to fall from her eyes.

Laying his eyes on her, Samuel's heart skipped a beat. He couldn't help but stare at her ravishing appearance.

He was so far gone that he had tuned out his entire surrounding. It took a gentle nudge from Alex to bring him back to his senses.

Samuel took a quick look around and after seeing the smiling faces of Alex, Charleen and Borris, he realised that he was lost in his own world and turned back to Elizabeth who had started descending the stairs.

He walked to the base of the stair case, corsage in hand, and waited for her to reach him.

When she got to the last step, he took her hand and placed the corsage around her wrist. Elizabeth smiled as she gazed lovingly at the corsage and then at Samuel.

"We need to take pictures before you leave", Alex said, drawing them out of their romantic atmosphere.

Samuel held her hand gently and helped her down the last step. Alex and Charleen joined them as Borris stood before them with a camera and took a few pictures.

"You two go ahead. We'll see you at the dance", Alex said as they walked the two to the door.

"Have fun, both of you", Charleen said to them as Samuel helped Elizabeth down the stairs and into the open door of the limousine.

Their friends welcomed her and complimented her entire appearance, going as far as to state how perfect the two looked together.

Alfred smiled as he closed the door and took his seat behind the wheel, driving the large hummer limousine off the Smith estate towards their final destination; the Prom venue.
