Chapter 65 - The Clide Family

"Nice to meet you too Sebas", Samuel replied. "Yeah…nice to meet you", Catherina added, feeling awestruck by the professional looking butler before them. The maids then stepped forward and introduced themselves.

"""Welcome Young master and Young Mistress""" they greeted together. The three of them looked very young… probably in their late teens. They were insanely identical. If you had never met them together, you'd see them in different locations and think you were losing it.

"They are the three sisters serving as deputy head maids of the Griffon Manor. They are Rita, Irina and Mavis…triplets", Sebas introduced the three maids who curtsied in return. ""Nice to meet you all'", Samuel and Catherina responded. This was their first-time seeing triplets and they were quite intrigued.

The maids then turned to Vivian and welcomed her back. "It's nice to see you girls getting along now. You used to be quite the trouble makers", Vivian said with a laugh as the maids bowed their heads as they blushed in embarrassment. "They've grown quite brilliantly. I'm sure it was all thanks to you", Betty said as she hugged Sebastian and gave him a kiss.

"""Mother!!""" the three maids shouted as they jumped into Betty's arms. "How are my little angels doing? I hope you haven't been mistreating the other maids?" Betty asked as she hugged all three girls. "We've been very good. There has been no problem so far", the first of the trio, Rita answered.

"Are we missing something here?" Samuel asked as he and his sister watched on in shock. "Right, you two were never made aware", Bernard pointed out as he joined them on the other side of the car. "Informed of what?" Catherina asked. "How about we get into the house and talk", Vivian said as she started walking towards the front door.

The family and the staff headed for the mansion as one of the security personnel entered the vehicle and drove it to the garage. Once there, other servants came to the car and started unloading the luggage, proceeding to transport them into the house.

After everyone was settled in their rooms, they met at the pavilion in the garden for brunch. The three sister maids served tea and dessert to everyone around the table and after took their place behind their mother. Afte taking a sip of her tea, Betty turned to the two curious children and started telling them her entire life story.

...…..

Betty was born in the dark recesses of the city of Sienna Metropolis. She was born to a hard-working mother who run multiple shifts in multiple jobs just to support her family. Her father on the other hand was a deadbeat. He sponged off the finances his wife generated from her jobs to gamble and sponsor sex work activities.

Seven years after Betty was born, Betty's mother fell ill from complete exhaustion and was now stuck in bed weak and helpless. With his source of money gone, Betty's father started to stay away from his family for the days on end, leaving his seven-year-old daughter to take care of the mother. On occasions, he would stagger home in a drunken stupor, and take out all his frustration on her.

Her mother passed away a week later and her father escaped from loan sharks that were after him. The small house was seized by the loan sharks and Betty had to run away before she was captured and used as a slave.

She was picked up by social services and placed in foster homes. For the next ten years, she was moved from one foster home to the other for reasons beyond her control. She was now seventeen years and attending high school. She soon met a boy named Carl Young who was one of the more popular boys in her school. They started dating and she thought they had mutual affection for each other. At the height of her affection for him, and upon several insistent requests, she finally gave up and allowed him to take her virginity.

After getting what he wanted from her, Carl dumped her almost immediately. Rumors of the breakup soon spread around the entire school, ruining her reputation. She was soon kicked out of her foster home when it was discovered that she was with child. The innocent teenager was left a mess.

She was expelled from school and roamed the streets of Sienna Metropolis for months managing to survive on donations and food from soup kitchens. It was at this point in her life that she came into contact with the newly married Griffon couple. They felt pity for her and gave her a job as their maid. Over time they treated her as family, even treating her new born triplet daughters as their very own nieces.

A few years later, Betty and the family's young assistant butler, Sebastian Clide, fell in love and started dating. Sebastian was a gentle man and treated Betty and her daughters extremely well. After they started dating, he treated the three girls like his daughters and the girls also saw him as their father. They got married a year after they started dating.

Over the years, Betty and Sebastian were promoted to the heads of the maids and butlers respectively, gaining power and authority over all the staff of the Griffon Manor. Their authority was not restricted to the Manor. They had considerable influences in all the Griffon family businesses; occasionally being interviewed on television and radio.

This new exposure brough the pain of her past back as her last foster family tried to reconnect with her; asking for her to put what happened in the past behind her. Without wasting anytime, she had them escorted off the property by the security personnel. The security personnel, familiar with Betty's past displayed great hostility towards the clearly 'gold digging' foster family.

It wasn't a few weeks when a gentleman appeared at the gates of the manor. He claimed to be the father of Betty's children and demanded to see her. Against her better judgement, Betty agreed to see him. When the Griffon family and Sebastian learned of the visitor, they invited themselves to the discussion.

Sitting before one of the wealthiest family on the continent, Carl felt the pressure of his agenda at the Griffons' Manor that morning. After being asked to speak, Carl strengthened his will and started declaring his intention of reconnecting with his children. For the next few minutes, the family watched on as Carl gave every reason imaginable as to why he should be given his children going as far as threatening law suits.

After all his ravings, the family just walked out of the room without saying a single word. They had granted Carl the courtesy of a meeting but they were not obligated to heed to all his brazen requests. Carl is immediately escorted off the property by the guards as well.

Following the advice of his friends and family, Carl goes all over the city trying to find a way to sue Betty but no respectable lawyer or Judge will take his case, especially after the story between he and Betty as well as recordings of the conversation was leaked onto the internet. Fuel was added to the fire as journalists did in-depth investigations into the story and revealed the entire truth.

Carl had no other choice than to go into hiding as whenever he stepped foot in the city, accusatory fingers were pointed at him. The shame gave him no other option than to change cities. He was never heard from again.

Betty ended the story, matching the timeline to when she joined the Griffon couple in the mountains. Of course, she had been visiting the manor occasionally to check up on her family and other staff members.

Samuel and Catherina thought through what they had been told of Betty's life before she started working for their parents. Left to them, all those people from her past who came here with the aim of trying to use her to turn their lives around for the better, wouldn't have left the manor the same way they came in.

In order to distract themselves from the rage they knew they couldn't act upon, the two kids delved into the books in the mansion's library. Their goal was to focus on preparing for their new schools as well as meeting with old and new friends.
