Dont nodded with a completely serious face as she vaguely listened to the silver knight in front of her.
It was already the 3rd day since they somehow appeared in supposedly another world, and Dont had done many things... Half of them, Dont didn't even know what they were.
Like the current case.
She had asked Sir Gerald about some recruits she saw. She didn't remember them at all, and she was one of the most obsessed with Titania Palace and its NPCs.
Currently, Gerald was talking about some things that Dont didn't fully understand, especially with Gerald's extra-military and professional language.
However, Dont pretended to understand everything perfectly, although she could at least say with little pride that she had an idea of what the knight was talking about.
Apparently, the Fairy People were exactly that, a village. Their citizens had their lives, sorrows, jobs, families, and problems. Although both she and Black Abyss, as well as the other guild members, were their Gods and absolute monarchs, they had their lives independently of that.
Of course, if Dont, for example, ordered a father to murder his son, the father would do it without hesitation, and the son would take it as an honor.
Putting that aside and returning to the topic of recruits, apparently, there was a way to improve Titania's forces without summoning Mercenary NPCs.
The Fairies, like all living beings, reproduced, and since they had their own lives, they could decide what to do with their lives unless a superior or one of their Gods ordered them to do something else. Among those things, many men aimed to become knights in Titania's army, so Gerald trained and strengthened them to become suitable knights.
She wasn't an expert in reading others' profiles, but her estimates told her that the recruits should be below level 40, but above level 30, and Gerald mentioned a similar estimate in terms of the recruits' average levels. Graduated soldiers reached level 40-50, and elites reached 50-60.
Of course, in the face of a large-scale Player raid, even a million Fairy knights at level 40-50 would be no more than a hindrance, capable of dying with just the collateral damage of a casual spell from a Level 100 mage by pure accident.
Elites could last a bit longer, but they were still so useless, serving as nothing more than meat shields or distractions at most. Although she couldn't deny that they were useful in their own way, especially with the fact that apparently they gained levels based on their training somehow and could or could not obtain unique classes.
There was also the issue of the power scale of this world. Was a level 100 even that strong? If they went out, maybe they could encounter someone with the strength of a Raid Boss who was just an average and weak farmer by this world's standards. The mere idea sent shivers down her spine.
But she couldn't think so negatively. According to all the exploration done by Titania's forces in the forest nearby, they found magical creatures between levels 20 and 30 at worst, or simply creatures with 0 combat power, like squirrels, deer, etc.
She sighed inwardly again, noticing that Gerald had finished talking.
"Ahem. I see. I am satisfied with such an outcome, Gerald. Keep up the good work." The knight only gave a military salute with total respect, while the recruits behind him did the same. "And you, keep training... Your strength will be useful for Titania in the future," Dont said distractedly, not really expecting anything from the soldiers, but also not wanting to disappoint them or anything like that.
Dont started to walk away from the arena, leaving the huge room designed both as a place for skill tests, summonings, etc., and to trap intruders and subject them to various rounds with different monsters and Gerald's forces. It wasn't one of the most important places to eliminate Players, but it mainly served to delay and separate Players, with many teleportation traps throughout Titania leading to the Coliseum.
Speaking of skills, Dont could say that she was pleased with a little experiment. After all, she had confirmed that friendly fire existed.
How did she discover it?
Well, a weak shot to Black Abyss's knee and her squealing a bit gave her the immediate answer.
Therefore, she also increased her anxiety at the presence of someone like Alucard. Of course, Dont didn't even have to worry about someone like Gerald, since, due to the level difference, even if Dont could take a direct hit from Gerald, she would come out almost unscathed, not to mention completely. But if it's someone like Alucard, then Dont herself could be killed with a single blow if taken off guard.
Between someone specializing in a Knight's build and someone specializing in a Shooter's build, the Knight was much more resilient and strong in direct combat.
Putting aside those thoughts, Dont walked through the palace corridors to her next destination. One that she was somewhat anxious to reach.
...
"What was that...?" Black Abyss wondered, she had experienced a strange pain after receiving a shot to her knee.
It was undoubtedly a shot, so she was quite alert with her lance and shield on her back, ready to be deployed into combat.
Although, with her build, it hadn't been a serious injury, practically weak against her HP, which had barely trembled at all, but it certainly hurt... She had almost forgotten how much a burn hurt...
Black Abyss walked through the palace corridors towards the exit, where a couple of guards bowed, opening a double door for her to continue her way.
"Wah~" The city from the height of the Palace was undoubtedly wonderful, and then she looked to the right.
There were many places in Titania, and one of them, which she had requested to be built, was the Observatory.
"I will definitely go there at night~" She said with a smile, then walked further, descending the stairs to a fountain that cascaded down to the lower floor. She was amazed, before this was still equally beautiful, but being able to feel the air, the warmth of the sun, knowing that all this was real gave her a great sense of satisfaction.
She continued walking around, greeting the maids she could find, who looked at her in awe, as if they were seeing a Goddess. And indeed, the Supreme Lords were Gods for the inhabitants of Titania, so she liked this feeling too.
She had already visited most of Titania's special places, and without a doubt, she never got bored of it. In fact, she had already forgotten about that casual shot she had received due to all this.
Eventually, after several minutes of walking, she arrived at what seemed to be a garden.
It was very extensive, perhaps too much, although, well, it's not like any of the places she had been in Titania were small. Everything was a marvel of engineering, and this was undoubtedly a botanical beauty.
The garden went through many streets and had different sections. She knew them all really, but...
"Wah~ They smell so good~" When was the last time she had heard a fresh and healthy rose? In fact, had she ever? This place was beautiful and a paradise for botanists, so, as she had been doing, she decided to take her time to explore it.
She arrived at the center, a circular place with several statues placed in 8 different directions, with 8 different paths leading to various locations in the garden, and a statue of an Angel woman in the middle of the circle.
It was going to take her quite some time, but she was eager to continue inspecting such a place. Besides, the Commanders were already taking care of important matters, and if something happened, they would simply message her.
"What a peaceful life~"
...
Dont entered the portal of cosmic darkness swirling alongside Alucard, and on the other side of the portal, she found her destination.
With high marble walls, copper pillars, and lines of gold, adorned with inscriptions of different runes, formulas, numbers, and letters on the walls. Large quantities of shelves with books, research artifacts, alchemy equipment, and more were scattered both on the walls and throughout the room, forming a small maze.
The ceiling was just a portion of the night sky, in a beautiful blue, full of stars, constellations, and celestial objects shining, twinkling, moving, and rotating. It was as if it truly was a view of the universe, with some comets, asteroids, and meteorites passing by here and there, and sometimes, large flashes could be seen, which were merely aesthetic, not illuminating the dimly lit room much, showcasing nebulas in such a vision.
Formulas of lines and runes floated in the air, as well as bright blue powders, creating a mystical and cool atmosphere.
Not far away, in the center of the room, there was a glass platform surrounded by gold, where lots of instruments for both astrology and alchemy were displayed, unlike the rest on the shelves, these were actively being used. Around such a platform, huge gold rings with runes and inscriptions floated around spheres of different colors, spinning on their own axis like the orbits of planets, and other smaller spheres did the same with larger spheres, imitating natural satellites.
Above the platform, there was a gold construction in elegant and refined patterns, holding chandeliers with candles of celestial fire.
And using a telescope among many instruments, there was someone whom Dont came to visit.
It was a teenage girl, perhaps around 16 years old. She wore a cute sleeveless black dress that continued into a short and somewhat puffy skirt, with various wavy fabrics down, and a ribbon that came from her back to a golden brooch with a red jewel below her chest. She had a kind of belt along her skirt, with several golden rings, and an iron birdcage, with several black chains that glowed in a sinister red light magically surrounding the cage. She had a white bib around her neck, with a black ribbon down, and a black choker, with a black chain holding a golden hexagram.
Her slender legs showed her clear and healthy skin, not covered at all until reaching the ankles, where a pair of loose black leather boots, crimson red interior, and golden soles covered her feet. She wore a pair of black silk gloves on her hands, as the only things covering any part of her arms, and her long light blonde and ashy hair fell disheveled to her thighs.
Her tender face, worthy of an affectionate and adored girl, showed a pair of eyes of both colors, surrounded by black eyeliner and with black eyeshadow. Her thin lips shone a bit from the transparent lipstick, and her face showed no imperfections at all. She might have measured around 1.5 meters in height.
However, what stood out the most about the girl was her cape. Ragged, dirty black on the outside, and dark black on the inside. Of enormous size that acted as a pair of bat wings on the sides of the girl. Terrifyingly, from inside the cape, bunches of almost materialized crimson red fabric swirled to form appendages like long necks, reaching to form heads of hard exoskeleton of threatening Dragons, with two pairs of eyes as red as blood, huge jaws full of monstrous and white fangs, and three pairs of twisted horns like those of Demons.
Despite such monsters, the girl looked calmly through the telescope, with the two creatures emerging from her cape resting their heads on a stack of velvet pillows, almost as if waiting for something interesting to happen.
Dont smiled upon seeing the girl, and in her presence, the pair of heads rose, sniffing the air, and instantly looking at Dont. With that, the creatures stuck their tongues out excitedly and lunged towards the new queen, tugging at the girl focused on her task and dragging her to the edge of the platform, with the girl screaming at the sudden pull. Dont could only laugh quietly at the scene.
"Wah! W-What's happening, guys? W-We're going to fall if you pull me over the edge!" The girl shouted while trying to prevent the two heads from taking her completely.
Dont knew that, even with her non-physical-oriented build, the girl could survive the fall without any harm, but she still didn't want to see her fall, so she decided to try something she had tested some time ago.
As if it were completely natural for her, a pair of enormous wings as black as the night emerged from her back like shadows manifested from the darkest abyss. Her 'standard' Demon wings. The feeling was… Natural, but weird at the same time… She'll think about it later.
Ignoring Alucard, Dont gently flapped the wings and ascended, not even stirring a breeze. With the initial flight, Dont floated to the platform, with the monstrous heads of the girl almost barking or roaring or something as they followed her gaze.
Dont landed on the platform, and the creatures stopped tugging the girl towards the edge. Instead, the heads dragged her towards Dont with remarkable ferocity and excitement.
Fearing that the creatures might throw themselves at her, Dont decided to try something that supposedly should work.
"Stay."
She said simply, and the creatures, before practically crashing into her, stopped instantaneously, looking at Dont like a pair of dogs to an owner, although the thought of it sent shivers down the queen's spine for other reasons.
The girl quickly turned around upon hearing that voice, looking at the Supreme Lady present.
"Lady Dont-Say-My-Name! What could bring you here?" The girl asked with a nervous and excited smile, quite curious about the presence of a Supreme Lord in such a place, which was usually not very visited by the Gods, except for one who did so very often at times, but she hadn't seen her for a long time.
Still, the presence of this Supreme was even rarer. Usually, she never came, so it was quite a surprise.
"Eyesight~ You are, in a few words, the eyes of all Titania. I don't know if you're aware of that~" Dont said casually.
After all, she remembered how Crucified had wanted her NPC to be something like the 'Evil Eye' or something like that, so she had endowed her with great divination abilities.
"I-I'm sorry! Despite knowing that you are the new Queen of Titania, out of habit, I called you L-Lady..." She apologized deeply.
"Fufu~ Don't worry~" Dont patted her golden hair, noticing the almost jealous looks of the two creatures while Eyesight giggled shyly.
Although Dont didn't know how she could read those emotions from the pair of creatures, she moved her hands towards their heads, which brought their snouts to Dont's palms, and she petted them like pets.
"In fact, feel free to just call me Dont~ My full name is uncomfortably long sometimes, hehe~" The Queen of Titania said with a slight smile at the end, noticing that, with a jump, Alucard reached the platform.
"I understand, Queen Dont!" She said happily, then bowing towards Alucard, who greeted her with a nod. Eyesight then looked at Dont.
"Although... It's not a complaint at all, but... What brings Queen Dont here? Usually... She prefers other places." She asked curiously. After all, it was a crucial part of the programming that Crucified had given her.
"Mm~ First of all, it's been a while since I visited the observatory that Black Abyss, Minyibai, and State built. And as I was taking a stroll, I took the liberty of visiting you." Dont said kindly, looking somewhat touched at the girl.
She never liked children. Especially because the only ones she interacted with on Earth were those who could afford the high fees that involved having an education, even the most basic. That is, they were generally the children of officials and rich people, who were mainly; either famous, or politicians, or lawyers, or important personnel of the Mega-Corporations.
Seldom could one see children of more humble origins. At least in her school. So dealing with rude brats had been one of the things that tested her patience.
But when it came to a well-mannered, tender, and wicked girl like Eyesight, besides being one of her good friend's creations, she was more than willing to be patient and kind.
The girl bowed almost as if apologizing.
"I really appreciate your visit, Queen Dont. But... I don't have much to show you..." The girl then stood firm and looked up. "Just like the exterior of Titania changed, the cosmos changed too..." She said almost sadly. "T-The beautiful constellations, stars, nebulas, and clusters created by the Supreme Lords of G.O.D.S…. Are no longer there... So divining has become very difficult without that..." She said downhearted towards the Demon Queen.
"Mm? I wasn't aware that Divination worked in one way or another based on the existence of the Stars... Does that hinder you from using your abilities to the fullest?" Dont said somewhat confused by Eyesight's statement.
If that were the case, the level of information gathering in Titania could suffer a severe blow.
"Well... Although my divination abilities are not annulled in the slightest, they were intimately linked to the sky. The Supreme Lords Black Abyss, Minyibai, and State-Your-Business taught me ways to perform distance and location measurements using the stars, so unless I had a map from this world, the divination distance may be less than before..."
"Umu... I see... If that's the case, then I'll make sure you get the materials you need to reestablish such measures in terms of this world. For now, things like gravity, the duration of day and night, and simple things remain the same, as well as there's only one sun and one moon." Dont said thoughtfully, just noticing that she was still petting the pair of draconic heads.
It's not like these were bothered; in fact, they seemed incredibly happy. Dont, with some caution, withdrew her hands from the snouts of the heads, and they only released disappointed whines but didn't complain, obediently staying at the sides of Eyesight.
"Ahem. Anyways. I didn't just come for a visit."
"Hm? Oh, yes! Ask me whatever you want, Queen Dont!" The girl instantly became energetic again, standing in front of Dont with a smile.
"I need you to grant me access to a Remote Viewing Mirror enchanted by you; I want to explore the surroundings of Titania personally with divination."
Eyesight then swallowed a bit nervously.
"W-Well... Although there are several Remote Viewing Mirrors... Due to there not being the same sky that the Lords created, you won't be able to use the automatic search... You'll have to use it manually..." She explained somewhat hesitantly.
"Ah, that's fine. I just need you to protect me from any Anti-Divination measures or any possibility of being discovered." Dont dismissed Eyesight's concerns.
"Y-Yes!" The girl nodded excitedly, then turning around and quickly walking to a floating drawer on the side.
Alucard watched the entire scene with a silent smile, like a soldier awaiting an order at any moment while witnessing the most touching scene of his life.
...
"Kya~~!" The dining hall of the Maidens, she had been walking around the palace all the time, and eventually arrived there, only to be surprised by some fangirl screams.
Black Abyss blinked several times, vastly surprised by the reaction—quite fanatical, indeed.
"Hi-Hi there~ Hehe..."
"Our humble greetings! Lady Black Abyss White Flower!" They all said instantly and in unison.
It was quite impressive how coordinated they were. No wonder they were capable of keeping the entire palace in optimal condition...
"What's all this noise for-? Oh my~ But if it isn't Lady Black Abyss White Flower herself~ Good day, Milady~" A woman of great elegance said with a marveling tone, full of admiration, as well as a slight English accent.
Black Abyss looked at the woman, and although she had seen her before, she couldn't help but be amazed, as always, at the work of her friend Belerick.
She wore a modified and customized French maid outfit in black with long sleeves. Across her chest, there was an opening from the center outward that revealed a white and ironed shirt with gold-edged edges, adorned with a brooch resembling a gold symbol and a sapphire jewel.
From her waist, a white apron fell in slight vertical ripples, with a ribbon-like white belt holding the apron, fastened with gold clasps. Hanging from the sides of the belt were two pieces of black fabric with white diamond-shaped patterns arranged along the length, ending in gold at each side of the waist, along with a bow at the back from which the excess fabric of the belt cascaded.
Her black skirt featured gold embroidery, with a white inner wavy fabric protruding below the skirt. Her ankles and a glimpse of her legs were visible, leading to a pair of black-sided shoes with the rest in white, adorned with long white laces between gold rings.
Her sleeves were somewhat loose, opening from the sides starting from the elbow, and could be adjusted with golden buttons and a pair of diamond-shaped brooches with crosses on the inside. From the opening, white wavy fabric extended, longer than the black sleeves on both sides.
Her hands were covered with short elegant white silk gloves, fitting for a noble or a good maid. In one hand, she held a black cane with decorations, a tip, and an upper part of silver, and an elongated handle with an amber-like jewel below the handle, between the silver.
Around her neck, there was a white collar over a black one, with black rhombus patterns along its length, perfectly aligned, fastened with a golden symbol from which a ribbon in an elegant knot emerged, falling gracefully over her chest.
Her face was beautiful, refined, and elegant, with clear and flawless skin, rosy and thin lips. Thin glasses adorned her eyes, which were as gray as the purest silver. Her long black hair, tied in a loose braid, fell to her waist and was combed to one side of her face impeccably. Above the hair, there was a large white headband, larger than any of the other maids.
"Oh. Maria~ I hope I'm not bothering..." Black Abyss said with a smile towards the impeccable maid, who looked at her somewhat doubtful before raising a hand.
"Not at all, Milady~ Your presence would never be a bother~ In fact, I'm sure each of the Maids will have a magnificent start to the day after seeing you~" Maria exclaimed with her refined tone, to which Black Abyss sighed in relief.
"So, this is the dining room. It's very large, well... I knew it was large, although I've never seen it filled. Is the food good?" Black Abyss asked Maria.
"Of course, Milady~ All the food from the great Titania is the best in the world~ The Head Chef only uses the very best to satisfy the hunger of the Palace's inhabitants~"
Black Abyss let out an unconscious laugh upon hearing this.
"That's good. It's necessary for them to eat well; otherwise, they would end up working poorly. Perhaps a day off each week might be necessary too..." The Supreme theorized. She had heard that in past times in her world, people used to get days off, and even paid vacations! This made them more effective when they returned to work. "What do you think, Maria?"
At the mention of a day off, Maria paled, and every maid in the room felt as if their souls were leaving their bodies. Black Abyss could almost see the maids' souls ascending toward a light in the sky while playing harps and having halos. Ignoring the fact that all the maids were Fallen Angels, Demons, or Onis.
"M-Milady? H-Have we done something wrong to deserve such a thing...?" Maria murmured, almost faltering and sweating a little.
Black Abyss was quite confused. "Uh... Is it bad? You work hard, don't you want a break?" She asked the head maid.
"Not at all! It is our greatest joy to give every drop of our strength and energy to fulfill your wishes and satisfy you, Milady! A-Ah... M-My apologies, I shouldn't have raised my voice... My sincerest apologies... Punish me as you see appropriate..." Maria said with a slight bow, looking completely repentant for even speaking with a slightly louder tone to Black Abyss, as if it were the worst sin in the world.
But then, she looked at Black Abyss when she felt her hand on her head, giving her a pat.
"You're certainly worthy of being the Head of the Maids~ I can tell you speak for all of them without even asking~ Why would I punish someone who does their job well~? Here~" Black Abyss then took out something like a small golden statue from her inventory. "It's not much, just a little decoration I made in the past~ I hope it serves to decorate a table in your room~" And she handed the small statue, although it was very cute, resembling Black Abyss herself, it had no special effects.
"Eh?" Maria said with total confusion, looking between Black Abyss and the statue without knowing how to respond.
"Hm... I guess it's not enough... Well~" She took out a shining sword from her inventory. "I used to use it when I was level 50~ It's just decorating my inventory now, take it~" ... And she handed the sword to the now more confused Maria, who seemed on the verge of having an aneurysm.
Then she turned to the maids in the dining room.
"Thank you~ Thank you for being with us~ We, the guild members, create many things, but you are one of our greatest creations~" Black Abyss said with a bright smile toward the maids.
A complete silence followed her words, making Black Abyss uncomfortable, only for her discomfort to increase as she began to hear countless sobs and cries.
Each maid present cried and sobbed, with several collapsing, leaning against each other, walls, or furniture.
"Mi... No... Entender… {I… Understand… Nothing}" Black Abyss said to herself.
Not understanding what Black Abyss said, the maids continued crying.
(What the hell!? Did I make them cry? But... They don't seem sad; they're smiling, and some are even laughing through their tears... Are they happy? Aaah! I don't understand...) Black Abyss thought behind her smile until the voice of the also teary Maria spoke to her.
"T-Thank you for your b-beautiful words, M-Milady... A-And my greatest g-gratitude for these g-gifts... I-I will cherish and treasure them above my own life!" She exclaimed, wiping her tears with a handkerchief, more smiling than at any other time before, clinging to the two gifts as if they were priceless treasures. Black Abyss could genuinely see happiness in them.
"T-Then I'll be going, I'll keep exploring the Palace~ Keep up the good work~" The paladin said, turning around, leaving a faint glow of divine light as she walked out of the dining room.
...
"Let's see... If I do this... And this... Ah~ I did it~!" Dont said with joy, finally managing to figure out how to control the Remote Viewing Mirror now that there was no HUD or anything similar to control it better.
Upon this, Alucard and Eyesight applauded in celebration for their queen, the former doing it politely, and the latter doing it with joy.
Dont puffed up her chest at this with some pride but also embarrassment, feeling as if they were a couple of adults applauding a child who discovered something simple.
"Ahem, right." Dont coughed falsely to ease the feeling and proceeded to use the mirror.
First, she centered the screen on the palace, and she almost fainted at the catastrophic problem she hadn't noticed.
Titania... Was literally big. A City-State that literally shone.
In other words, a giant lighthouse.
Dont paled slightly, but not enough for it to be noticeable... Or maybe she was already pale enough for it not to be noticeable in the first place.
At this point... Anyone could easily locate them even from kilometers away at night.
"How did I not notice this before!? Uh... Eyesight..." Dont called out, maintaining composure as best she could.
"Yes~?" She asked with a clear ':3' expression.
"I want you to send your subordinates to the walls of Titania... Have them use illusion spells to hide the entire palace... Send someone to inform Bachelory to take measures to conceal Titania both by Divination and general vision..." Dont said with an almost monotonous, dry tone.
"S-Sure, my Queen! Although... Titania is reeeeally big; it will take us a bit. And... Well, it is really shiny and beautiful; it's kind of hard to hide..." Eyesight replied with some worry.
"Of course, I'm counting on you." Dont said with slight nervousness, giving a thumbs up to the cute girl with the pair of Dragon heads on the sides.
If she thought about it, even Eyesight, who specialized in Divination and activities not related to combat, could kill her with those Dragons given by Crucified... That lunatic...
Still, Dont shouldn't worry too much; it seemed as loyal as all the other NPC, and it could see her leaving the room quickly with a smile, ready to fulfill the mission.
Although... Despite Titania being an extremely bright and beautiful place, it was somewhat... Difficult to hide it when you could proudly show others your home and tell them, 'My house shines more, lol'... But for the sake of strategy and survival, it had to be done.
She shook her head, seeing creatures coming out of the walls, or from among the shelves, the ceiling, or hidden doors.
The Observatory was practically a boss stage. Dont didn't know it as well as the rest of Titania, but she knew that Black Abyss, State, and Miyabi had designed it for that purpose.
A little labyrinth of shelves, Mimics, Specters, Brain Devourers, and other creatures hidden and scattered throughout the observatory. Even some books were Bomb Mimics. Not to mention Eyesight, who, although specialized in Divination and activities unrelated to combat, with her debuffs and her Dragons, could even defeat the 5 Commanders if she put them inside the Observatory. Although later, they would have to repair the place and replace the dead.
Discarding the thought, Dont returned her attention to the mirror, sighing as she began manipulating the item to traverse the forest.
She had been doing this for... A few minutes.
With Alucard behind her, Dont kept seeing the green of the trees without stopping. She was about to conclude that it was a world full of forests at some point, much like Alfheim, although half of the world was also mountains, meadows, etc.
However, with a slight relief, Dont finally saw evidence of civilization. It was a typical medieval village that she had studied so much.
It was about 10 kilometers from Titania, as she could see on the extra screens that Eyesight had provided thanks to the improvements. Next to the forest, with wheat fields, thatched-roof houses, farms. She was amazed to see a farm for the first time.
Her slight impulse of joy was confused by all the commotion that seemed to be happening in the village.
What looked like knights were going back and forth, on horses or on foot, just like what could be the villagers and townspeople doing the same. Although there were many villagers lying on the ground.
"Is it a party? Festival!?" Delighted at the idea of finding a new culture to study, her historian's soul shivered with excitement. However, Alucard didn't seem so happy.
With a voice almost filled with disgust, irritation, and dislike, the knight spoke. "No... My Queen, look at those..."
He pointed with his finger to the section where more people could be seen, and Dont zoomed in on the image.
She blinked slightly at the revelation of the situation. The knights weren't using fake weapons or playing with the villagers, children, or whatever, as Dont had thought. They were killing without mercy, right and left, and the villagers seemed unable to defend themselves at all.
They could only escape and pray to survive the unilateral slaughter. However, Dont just rolled her eyes.
"Oh, well." She said without interest at all, looking bored at the massacre, as if she were watching a boring war movie.
Considering the village's location, its state, and various assumptions that Dont could make with her knowledge of feudal times, it was easy for her to understand that, in purely strategic terms, the village was useless.
Titania, from what she had discovered, had its own farms within the walls, and the Dragon Court Garden itself had an orchard.
If they wanted a connection with the owner of such lands, then saving a village might be useful. But if they got into a war with an entire enemy country for that, it had no value even to try it. Hostages? It might be the only thing she could think of that could be taken from the village. Information and bargaining chips. But among the pros and cons, that was so insignificant that it wasn't even useful for that.
Only after reaching such conclusions did Dont frown slightly. Was she really thinking that?... Dont knew that she had no affection for humanity even before being transported to her avatar. Humans destroyed the beautiful world that was Earth for their own temporary benefit, without even hesitating.
But she had never seen a massacre live and in person before... At most, she had read about it, heard, or seen it in documentaries and explanatory videos. Of course, she had seen dead people. In the 2135 Earth, it was common to find dead people in the streets due to lack of food, poisoning from poisonous air, or toxic water, diseases, etc., so she wasn't surprised by her indifference to seeing dead people in itself.
Was this due to her Demon race? Her Karma? She even felt a certain amusement at watching the massacre, as if watching some amusing ants fighting each other, or little soldiers in a war game conquering a point to win the match while she was a spectator.
Nor could she really judge if what she was seeing was 'bad' or 'good.' Such an event could not be unleashed without reason. Maybe they were in a purge of a disease. Perhaps they were criminals who had built a village. Enemy allies. Meeting point. Whatever. There were several minimally understandable reasons why such an event could happen.
And even if Dont had a strong sense of justice and decided to jump in to save the villagers, there was no guarantee that those knights weren't at a strength level equivalent to level 100 or higher. Perhaps even those villagers were as strong as her, Black Abyss, or Alucard...
Dont simply moved her hand along the mirror, observing different scenes of massacre. A soldier impaling a man with his sword. Another soldier beating a granny with his fists. Yet another knight kicking a girl next to her brother…
She simply looked on disinterestedly at all their suffering.
"Will you not do anything, My Queen?" Alucard's question pulled her out of her thoughts.
"Mm~ No. There's really no value in saving them."
"... I understand," Alucard exclaimed, with a colder tone than usual. "In that case, may I be allowed to go myself...?"
"It would be very risky. And besides, you'd be abandoning your post as Commander of Titania and my bodyguard, putting the guild's security at risk." Dont said with some caution, fearing that Alucard might draw his sword against her.
"I understand..." That was all he repeated, placing a hand over his chest and bowing, although Dont could clearly feel Alucard's displeasure with her decision.
Dont sighed internally, wanting to distance herself from Alucard due to the pressure she felt almost emanating from him. She should have chosen Bulldoger or Miia as bodyguards...
In one of her slightly more abrupt movements towards the southern part of the village in search of something to distract her paranoia about Alucard, she came across two girls.
One appeared to be around 16 or 18. She was never good at judging age anyway. Blonde, somewhat tanned, with a much healthier physique than she had ever seen in her world, and wearing a typical peasant dress. She had with her a younger girl, about 10 years old perhaps, somewhat similar. Wearing a light summer dress, red hair in two ponytails, freckles, and an expression of terror and fear. The same expression the older one had.
(... Sisters?)
Dont noticed that a pair of knights were chasing the sisters. They were venturing into the forest, risking getting lost. But she could understand the reasoning behind wanting to cross that river after reaching it rather than die.
However, despite the full-body armor, the knights were still men trained for combat, so their bodies were faster and stronger, quickly catching up to the sisters. One of the soldiers swung his sword at the older one, inflicting a deep cut on her back, causing her to collapse and shielding the younger one beneath her, surrounding her with his arms as if hiding her from the knights.
The memory hit her like a train. Her own sister shielding her from their mother's tantrum over a business deal gone wrong due to something foolish Dont did in her innocence.
Comparing it to the scene, it was obvious that the sisters she was watching were in a more complicated and dangerous situation than just an angry mother. But it was enough for Dont to hum vaguely with melancholy.
Her thoughts returned to her sister, going back to the sequence of thoughts about 'How is she?' and other concerns that she could only vaguely see reflected in the sisters she was observing through the scrying object.
With a slight annoyed growl, Dont yielded to her memories, berating herself for even comparing those strangers to her wonderful sister.
She stood up from the blue velvet armchair that Eyesight had offered her with force.
"... Inform Black Abyss that I'm going out... Make her come with me as soon as possible... Send stealth-specialized units, and if there are diviners, have them watch over me for security... You can also send Achernar to protect me from the shadows..." Dont said almost reluctantly to Alucard, without even looking him in the eye.
"Right away, My Queen." And in an instant, he disappeared, moving at his full speed, as if he didn't want to waste even a second more.
Dont grabbed her head in self-reproach, and looking at one of the knights, she selected him, able to do so thanks to the enhancements from Eyesight...
…
Enri cried in pain and fear, feeling the burning sensation from the cut on her back. She hugged Nemu as if her life depended on it. Though it was more like her younger sister's life depended on hers at this moment.
She didn't want to die, but if she had to die, at least it would be for Nemu to survive. Even though the chances of a young girl surviving alone in the dangerous Great Forest of Tob were practically nil, it was her best shot.
But all her thoughts were disordered, affected by the loss of blood and fear. She glanced back, seeing the knight raising his sword, ready to deliver a final blow that would undoubtedly kill her. She closed her eyes tightly, embracing her sister with all her might, bracing for the impact.
And then it came… The sound of flesh being cut. She felt nothing. At least, it was a quick and painless death. She opened her eyes and, surprisingly, saw the terrified and tearful face of her little sister, clinging to her with all she had. She... was alive?
"Mm~" Someone hummed behind her. "Weaker than I thought." A feminine voice, deep and seductive, with a regal majesty befitting a high-born lady, spoke with some surprise.
Enri glanced back, half-expecting to see a hallucination or something her mind had conjured up. Oh, there it was. She was hallucinating.
A woman… The most beautiful she had ever seen, resembling the pale and lovely visage of a Dark Goddess, stood behind her. One foot rested on the armored back of the soldier who had tried to kill her, a soldier who no longer had a head.
In the woman's hands were a pair of large, curved daggers, glowing with runes and symbols in an orange like fire.
"Wh-What!?" The other knight who had been present, the one still alive, exclaimed in surprise at the woman's appearance and the death of his comrade. However, Dont-Say-My-Name paid him no attention.
"Hm... These daggers are only level 70 equipment... Even the skill I used was only level 8..." Dont said somewhat surprised.
She had expected to only damage the knight with critical damage using her mid-high level weapon skills, just to test the opponent's strength, with level 70 being the minimum level to start playing in PvP.
She even used an Assassin's teleportation skill, which allowed her to instantly appear behind a target stealthily with a critical damage boost, ensuring the first hit was a guaranteed critical.
If the target resisted the damage or didn't even scratch them, Dont would have used the skill's second effect, which would return her immediately to the point from where she teleported, where she would order the defenses to be raised to the maximum while she began planning how to permanently hide Titania from the world.
But the knight... Didn't even offer resistance.
Considering the weapon levels, the soldier should have been at level 50-60 or maybe a glass cannon at level 70-80...
Dont then snapped out of her thoughts, her instincts warning her of the existence of the other knight. It wasn't a warning of danger but simply because he was there, and he moved.
Though the knight only retreated in terror while trembling.
Dont mentally prepared herself and began her always-humble act.
"Fufu~ Were you so prepared to simply murder a couple of poor sisters? And yet, when faced with a real threat, can't you do anything but squeal in fear like a rat?" Dont taunted arrogantly, playing with one of the daggers in her hand as she looked down at the other soldier.
The knight took a step back, clearly filled with fear. Dont's classes identified the fear and terror debuff, but she was sure her passive auras were turned off, and she had nothing on her that could cause such debuffs.
"M-M-Monster..." The knight said in terror.
Dont furrowed her brow slightly.
Her? A monster!? How could she accept such a magnitude of insult? Of course, if they said she was a monster in bed, she would take it with total humility. Or if it were a compliment like 'You're an incredibly terrifying monster, Dont!' as Perorin used to say to buy her vote in some things, then she would take it too.
But a monster in such an insulting way? Dont almost used a level 10 skill to get rid of such a soldier!
But she restrained herself, keeping in mind something more important.
"Mm~ Maybe~" Dont responded mischievously. She turned around completely and looked directly into the eyes of the soldier, activating one of her abilities.
... In a mere instant, less than a second, the soldier simply collapsed lifeless… Leaving Dont herself surprised by... The weakness of the soldier.
(He really died from that...? It's just a level 4 'Soul Drain' ability... Even in combat, it was only meant to heal insignificant portions of HP in critical moments!) Dont blinked, genuinely impressed by how weak the knight was.
Of course, with her classes, [Draining Eye of The Pact] could penetrate the magical defenses of someone specialized in that parameter at level 80, but if she did, it was only to drain 1 MP at most and translate it into HP for Dont.
In fact, what Dont drained from the soldier was literally 0 MP, so she didn't heal at all, and there was no damage on her in the first place. However, the soldier simply died!?
Only a level 10 or lower would die from that ability if they had 0 MP! Because if there was no MP, the ability drained the 'life' of the target in an instant death effect of 2º level. Even the most distracted and poorly built level 30 players could resist such an effect!
However, Dont blinked at a possibility that could explain what might have happened.
According to the lore of the ability, Dont could use her eyes to 'take the soul' of a sinner, or well, a target. Therefore, in theory, she supposedly took the soldier's soul, which in Yggdrasil would mean taking away MP or applying an instant death effect of level 2.
But there was no value for a 'soul.' Of course, if you killed a certain boss or enemy, they could drop a 'soul' of that creature or something, but it was just an item that could be used to make potions, build equipment, sell for high prices, etc. Things without even value as a direct consumable except for some exceptions.
Although the memory of how she and a few guildmates farmed a Level 80 Boss for a week just to get 1 soul from that boss depressed her quite a bit. Especially because that idiot Perorin lost it, and they had to farm the same boss for another 3 days!
Shaking off the thought and noting to test the abilities of Yggdrasil and their changes in this world later, Dont left the man's body there, not even noticing that she didn't care about killing someone.
She turned around, looking directly at the girls, who were only trembling in fear on the ground.
"Hm..." Then she looked towards the village, where she could even see some smoke columns from fires or something.
She looked at the body of the knight she had killed with her ability and wanted to test a theory.
She pointed her finger to the ground and chanted.
"[Order Lesser-Mid Demon: Infernal Protector]"
And at her command, a red pentagram surrounded by a circle appeared on the ground, with flames rising from it.
Dont blinked in confusion when she saw the corpse of the knight she had just killed turn to dust, leaving an empty armor and worthless ashes behind. And when the flames disappeared after a second, there was her summoning.
Standing about 3 meters tall, a monstrous knight in white armor that covered the thighs and from the torso up, with red, solid-looking skin like smooth stone, marked with white lines as if it were bare flesh, stood. It had a pair of black boots with claws and thorns protruding from its forearms, holding a large sword about 2 meters long with a black handle and a large gold guard that looked like an insect, while the blade was red like dried flesh and silver and cold at the edge. In its other hand, however, it held a huge shield as large as itself, made in a strange shape, as if it were an arrowhead pointing downward, full of red stone horns curving upward from below, being 3 pairs of short ones upward, with another pair larger, and another pair as larger and thicker horns.
Its lower area resembled a bird's beak, curved downward, with the outer covering being a material like marble, and coated in gold on the sides, blending with the red stone, with a blade between the two upper horns, and a gem like an opaque ruby in the center.
That monstrous creature was an Infernal Guardian, one of Dont's favorite summons, especially because she didn't have many to begin with. Between her classes and race, she could only summon a small variety of demons up to level 65 at best.
However, what made the Infernal Protector special was its similarity to a summon she ironically despised: the Death Knight. It could draw attacks towards itself, serving as a perfect one-use tank for a fragile marksman, preventing other shooters from taking a shot at her unnoticed.
Secondly, all the damage the Infernal Protector received was reduced by 10% and reflected back at the attacker by 15%. It was a one-use wonder in battles against Level 100 players, since the ability to draw an attack from targets that could potentially deal so much damage that they could one-shot her about three times and return 15% of that damage to the owner was a marvel.
Just remembering when Dont abused this summon in a guild group battle where the opponents had a shooter made her want to laugh. The shooter had used bullets with more critical damage and chances of such damage, but what he hadn't expected was the Infernal Protector, eliminating that target but losing half of its own HP in the process. And when he tried to do the same again, thinking there were no more obstacles, guess what? He took another Infernal Protector head-on, and a low-powered shot from Dont, dying just like that.
A perfect Level 30 summon with the defense of a Level 40 and an attack of a Level 25, though little mobility in the first place...
Back in the present, she could feel the violent and furious gaze of the summon. Although these were not emotions directed towards her but rather something innate in the creature towards everything in general.
Obviously, having access to such incredible creatures, she had read their lore deeply. The Infernal Protector was a violent Demon that would charge towards the enemy with fury while using its shield both for protection and as a ram, swinging its sword and cutting down enemies while releasing its demonic fury and thirst for war, fiercely protecting demonic strongholds.
Basically, something very typical of what one would expect from a Demon... And a Barbarian.
Later, she had read on forums that superior summons similar to the Infernal Protector gave more lore, like summoning Joraal, the Aegis of Pain, a Level 100 Demonic Paladin that could be summoned with the necessary Demonologist classes.
Well... It was possible to summon Level 100 Mercenary NPCs with the respective scrolls and such in Titania anyway. And she had heard that Joraal had very interesting abilities...
Ignoring the thought, she returned to reality, looking at the Infernal Protector waiting for her command.
"Hm... Let's see... Go to that village and... Kill all the knights you find wearing that armor…" Dont said, pointing towards the headless soldier still stepping, testing if the summon would recognize the command that normally couldn't be executed. Both because of its complexity and the fact that a defensive summon couldn't move far from its summoner beyond a few meters.
However, the Infernal Protector only roared violently, banging its shield against its chest like a barbarian or something, and ran at full speed towards the village, abandoning Dont even though it was a defensive summon.
"Eh..."
Dont shook her head at the abandonment she just suffered from her own summon, and turned around, looking at the pair of girls who stared at her as terrified as they were fascinated. Obviously fascinated by her beauty~
She set aside her egocentrism as she began her first, at least friendly, interaction with beings in this world. Although, she was tempted to say, 'Greetings new-earthlings, I come in peace,' while making an 'extraterrestrial' greeting gesture with one hand.
"Mm~ You're safe now~" The queen hummed. "However, you're still injured~" Dont pointed out the obvious towards the one who should be the older sister...
Now it would be very hilarious if they ended up being friends, or a babysitter and the girl she had to take care of, or a somewhat young mother and her daughter, or cousins, or something completely unrelated to sisters. If that was the case, she would shoot both of them and scold herself deeply.
"Iiii!" The older one squealed in fear, trying to back away on the ground, with the girl still hugging her, and her wound preventing her from moving too much.
Dont almost felt a drop of sweat rolling down the side of her face, not knowing exactly what to do. She wasn't an expert in calming down girls who had literally had a traumatic experience, 400 death scares, and the like.
Then, the sound of metallic footsteps was heard again, giving a chill to the girl, was it another knight...?
She quickly turned around and painfully, again marveled at the beauty of the woman she saw, and a bit dazzled by the strange celestial glow she had.
"Now scaring little girls is your pastime?" The woman completely in white asked with her soft voice, a sound so angelic, the tone so soothing, and a kind smile on her face.
But then she heard the other beautiful woman reply.
"Huh? Are you really going to talk to me like that? For the record, I took on the great job and risk of saving these two~ Hmp~" Dont said with a somewhat offended tone, crossing her arms and looking away, just realizing that she was still stepping on the decapitated knight's corpse, but it made her look cool, so she didn't do anything about it.
"Hm. I guess of those types. What happened here?" The woman in white asked the one who had saved the two girls as she approached, inspecting the dead bodies.
"Oh, you know~ The usual~ I was the incredibly kind and beautiful holy maiden that I am and came to the rescue of this poor village being massacred by evil knights~" Dont said with an almost joking tone, exaggerating 'cute' gestures.
It's not like the girl who was suffering from blood loss and the terrified girl in her arms could detect the sarcasm in their current state.
"Aha..." Black Abyss turned around, pointing her hand towards the injured girl, and a golden hexagram appeared surrounded by a bright circle. "[Heal]" She said, and a golden light covered Enri.
In an instant, her wound closed without showing any issues, not even a scar. Even her clothing repaired itself along with the wound.
Enri merely blinked in confusion as the searing pain was replaced by comforting warmth and the disappearance of her injury, finding her back now good as new.
"Do you feel well, little ones?" Dont said from the side, hands on her hips and foot still on the corpse, looking almost like a triumphant heroine with her smile.
Although they undoubtedly felt better due to the magic that had been cast on them, the two girls were still in a slight state of shock.
Black Abyss then spoke behind the two girls. "Alucard, keep an eye on them; I'll ask them things later," she exclaimed.
Enri looked back, seeing the handsome man. "Eh... Did you bring Alucard?" Dont muttered under her breath, looking uncertain about how to feel about the level 100 knight.
"Yeah. Well, actually, he brought me. Didn't you send him to call me? For some reason, he insisted on accompanying me, so I brought him." Explained Dont in a low voice.
"I see. Anyway," Dont redirected her attention to the two girls. "Tell me, little ones, do you know what magic is?" Dont asked carefully. Perhaps she was talking about fantasy things, and she was an 'evil witch' for summoning something at all... Although it is true that she literally summoned a Demon.
Enri glanced at Nemu, somewhat hesitantly, but turned her gaze back to Dont and nodded slightly.
"Y-Yes. Occasionally, the pharmacist comes to our village... Our friends can also use magic..."
"Mm~ Good~ That makes everything easier~ I am capable of casting a few spells, as is my companion here. Right now, she will cast some protective spells on you." Dont said, with the subtle almost order to Black Abyss to do so.
"Huh..." Black Abyss sighed and pointed her hand. "[Anti-Arrow Shield] [Anti-Sword Shield] [Anti-Spell Shield]... Is that okay...?"
"Mm~" Dont hummed in approval.
They weren't incredible defenses, even with Black Abyss's enhanced defense boosts, but they would be enough to block some level 5 spells, level 50 weapons, and projectiles.
"¡Mujer! {¡Woman!} Stop wasting time; we need to go now." Black Abyss said to Dont.
"¡Cállate! ¡No las dejaré morir después de salvarlas! {Shut up! I will not let them die after saving their asses!}" She replied, earning confused looks from both the girls and Alucard due to the strange language. "Ahem. Anyway, these spells will protect you from weapons, projectiles, and magic, although some monsters might appear..." Dont murmured and reached into her inventory like a ring of fire welcoming her to Hell, rummaging through all the things she had.
Some guild members called her disorganized for having so much junk in her inventory, but you never know when you'll need a low-level HP potion or a dish that causes a nausea debuff or a bomb that causes an area debuff making everyone dance for no reason.
Dont was a good wildcard~ In addition to being an obsessive-level collector, always preferring to spend 500 low-level potions rather than one high-level potion, having a few thousand low-value and low-rarity items in her inventory to use at any time without meaning a significant loss.
Of course, she also had many other things that were especially useful, like a Super-Hourglass, which could instantly reduce the cooldown for casting a Super-Level spell once the item was consumed, even though Dont couldn't cast Super-Level spells, or a seafood stew that gave buffs like the ability to breathe underwater for 12 hours and other buffs that improved underwater capabilities to avoid underwater disadvantages.
Either way, Dont didn't want to give too much to the girls, so among her belongings, she grabbed a pair and threw them at the girls in a way that the shields didn't consider the pair of projectile items.
One of these was a small horn, with some leather and a small leather strap.
It was a 'Goblin General's Horn' that she had lying around. A useless item that summoned a small group of Goblins between levels 20 and 30 if she remembered correctly. At most, she used it to make monsters or Bosses change their attack priority to the meat shields that were the Goblins when they got too close compared to her or other members.
The other, however, was something Dont enjoyed using because it was fun.
'Demonic Circus Trumpet.' Like the Goblin General's Horn, it only brought low-level summons, only they were Demons... Who were Clowns.
What made them special was that they caused effects useful enough for Dont to tend to summon them in every boss fight. They were cheap and useful. But it's not like Dont didn't have enough in her inventory to summon Earth's population increased to Earth's population and more, not counting the ones in Titania...
Fortunately, unlike magical summons, creatures summoned using items were permanent in most cases, so they didn't disappear.
The Demonic Circus Trumpet was simply a typical clown horn, with a red rubber ball, and a small silver trumpet with some rocky marks that made its 'demonic' and 'evil' nature stand out.
"These items are a Goblin General's Horn, which, if blown, will summon some Goblins that will obey the summoner's orders, and the other is a Demonic Circus Trumpet, which summons Imps that meet the same conditions. You can order them to protect you," Dont said disinterestedly, although with her smile, she seemed incredibly kind.
"¡Suficiente con esto! ¡Hay gente que salvar! {Enough with this! There's people to save!}" Black Abyss said, and Dont was surprised when she was lifted by Black Abyss onto her shoulder, carrying her.
"¡W-Wah! ¡No te creas tan importante! ¡Bájame! {D-Don't be too cocky! Put me down!} ¡ARGH!" Dont complained, trying to free herself from Black Abyss's grip, not really trying, and with the comparison of statistics, it would take more strength than she was using to even move her a bit, even if she used little force.
"¡No! ¡Haremos el combo! {No! We're doing the combo!}"
The combo? Ooh. She was referring to that.
It had been quite a while during the Guild War; she remembered when she was forcibly taken by Black Abyss to the front lines even as a Shooter... But although that would have been a reason to shoot her, it was actually very different.
She took her, and with her great jumping stats, she jumped to great heights, with her strength pushing her even higher while Black Abyss let herself fall, so she could cast an area mass control skill on the fall.
And~ With Dont up~ All the targets were marked, being able to use many skills like [Bullet Rain] or directly high-level explosions.
"¡Ahora prepárate! {Now get ready!}" Black Abyss said, getting into position with Dont on her shoulder, the pressure under her foot shattered the ground several meters around.
"Um... Tha-Thanks for saving us!" "Thank you"
However, a couple of voices interrupted Black Abyss, with Dont almost getting goosebumps from her instincts screaming about what her Paladin companion was about to do.
"Al-Although it's selfish of me, I can only trust people like you... Please, please! Save our parents!" Black Abyss raised a thumb to the two girls behind her, then, she made a powerful jump upwards, creating an explosion of rocks and dirt where she had been. The shields on the two girls easily repelled the debris, leaving them quite surprised and a little fearful.
Meanwhile, in the heights, hundreds of meters above, Black Abyss released Dont, pushing her higher and letting herself fall while giving a thumbs up to her.
"... Didn't you think about the fact that the soldiers are brutally weak, and I can even kill them with a finger...?" Dont said to Black Abyss, pulling out her rifle and looking down, using her incredible vision enhanced by her classes to see all possible targets. In fact, she was sure she could see miles away if she wanted. Just that she never had the chance to test it.
"What do you want me to say~!? We have to use every opportunity to look cool~!" Black Abyss said in free fall.
"But this is excessive! How the hell are we gonna explain to normal humans about us surviving a fall of hundreds of meters!" Dont complained, looking for a target with particularly high power. No luck in that. But she shooted a few times to deal with some soldiers guarding the outskirts of the village, killing them instantly by exploding all their bodies with level 30 common and unmodified bullets.
"Magic~!" The bright woman exclaimed with a smile, then shooting herself toward the ground.
"You crazy bitch! No one down there is above level 20 except for my summoning!" Dont complained, putting away the rifle after checking the surroundings just in case and hearing a horn being played.
...
Londes Di Clamp watched in horror as the bloodthirsty monster cut two of his men in half with a single swing of its titanic sword, using its foot to kick another soldier, sending him flying like a ragdoll towards a house.
"ROOOOOOAAAAAAR!" The monstrous knight in white roared like a furious beast, even though none of the soldiers' blows had even scratched him. Even Captain Belius was now just a pile of minced meat after being stomped by the giant...
The monster directed its visor, which had an interior as black as an abyss, with no trace of a face, or even demonic and shining eyes that inspire terror, just a black void behind the helmet, towards a group of soldiers fleeing.
With surprising speed, the giant charged towards the soldiers with its shield in front and rammed the soldiers at an incredible speed, turning them into minced meat against its shield made of marble, gold, and red rock.
And the monster directed its gaze towards him.
Before Londes could do anything, the monster roared violently, instilling terror in the depths of his soul, and with a powerful leap, the monstrous knight fell on Londes, turning him into a puddle of blood and pulp before he could even react...
At the same time, a powerful wave of power came from the side.
...
"Ha!" Black Abyss fell to the ground hitting with her fist, which for some reason didn't break it but spread a golden circular area throughout the village.
"Presumida… {Show off…}" Dont complained, jumping off Black Abyss's shoulder with a single leap once she let go. "At least you're a good carriage~" Dont mocked, then looked at the scene in front of her.
A massacre... But now the soldiers were on the receiving side. She could see heaps of flesh and broken metal everywhere, dead soldiers and her beautiful summon standing on another pile of minced meat and blood.
Ah~ She felt so proud of her own summoning~ To create such a beautiful landscape~
... Did she just think that? She would deal with it later.
"Ahem. Infernal Protector, stop." Dont ordered, and the summon, which was about to cut two frozen soldiers in half, stopped completely, lowering its sword and relaxing its posture only slightly, just staring threateningly at the soldiers.
"Ah, no need, it has area CC..." Black Abyss said, noticing that no one could move due to the area she had created. "Wow... For the CC of this technique to affect them so much... Are they really that weak...?"
"Te lo dije~ Muy débiles para presentar la más mínima amenaza~ Pero no te dejes llevar. {I told you~ Too weak to be a minimal threat~ But don't be too cocky.}" Dont spoke in the language that confused the tied villagers and the still alive but practically immobilized soldiers.
Black Abyss waved her hand, and the golden area she had created disappeared, allowing those present to move again. The two remaining knights tried to run for their lives with all the energy they had left.
Dont already knew how many were left. There were 4 of the several dozen soldiers who had been alive a few minutes ago. It seemed a bit excessive to eradicate a small village in the middle of nowhere, but she wasn't going to draw conclusions because she wasn't interested.
"Greetings~" Dont greeted loudly, addressing both the knights and the villagers. "If you surrender now, your lives will be spared~" Dont announced, almost expecting them to try to raise a finger against her and tear their heads off with their teeth, and use that head to beat another, and then-!
Dont internally coughed as she got rid of the slightly more sadistic thoughts.
However, at her announcement, each of the remaining knights threw their swords to the ground, surrendering instantly. They almost seemed ready to be executed at any moment, which amused the Queen of Titania.
"Mm~ I am pleased with your quick surrender~ Well then~ Your lives will be spared~ However, I want you to convey a message from me, made with much love and dedication~" Dont said with clear mockery towards the soldiers, with an almost malicious and sadistic smile, showing her set of teeth that had been modified to look like human teeth midway to make them appear human.
However, she went blank for a mere second... If they introduced themselves... Hm...
"Tell your masters. Your owners, leaders, and Gods~ If they ever cause any trouble here again~ I... Nyx! Personally, I will make your country burn to ashes, leaving no one alive while making them wallow in the fire of Hell along with their sins~" Dont said with renewed emotion and inspiration.
Nyx... The Greek Titan of the Night. She always liked these 'Evil' Gods from mythology. It was just her style of things. And Nyx... A Goddess of Darkness... Using her name as a fake but authentic and real name in the eyes of this world gave her a feeling of ecstasy to her evil-filled spirit that almost made her eyes shine with excitement.
" Pff~" She heard the faint and subtle laughter of Black Abyss at her side. And she was tempted to take out her rifle and give her a little level 10 demon-infused bullet as a 'joke' right in the face. "S-Sorry~ J-Just- Pff~ I imagined R-Pff~ RataVibradora introducing himself like that~"
Dont resisted the urge to use a pain-boosting skill and shoot her in the head with the supposed tank, who did nothing more than seem to want to ridicule her... At least that's how she saw it.
However, the soldiers were still trembling, and once Dont gave them another look, they ran away in terror after nodding quickly, with their lives literally depending on it right now.
Dont sighed internally, relaxing her posture but keeping her imposing and sinister presence, calling the Infernal Protector to stand by her side as she tried to understand how the summoner-summon connection worked.
Clearing her throat, Dont turned to the villagers.
"You don't have to worry~ You have been saved~"
A complete silence followed the majestic words of the Queen of Titania.
"Y-You are..." One of the villagers dared to speak, although his gaze was glued to the Infernal Guardian next to Dont.
"She is Nix. I am Titania. First of all, don't be afraid of this creature, it belongs to her."
"Nyx with Y, idiot..." Dont grumbled in an incredibly low voice.
"What would I know...? And what's the difference between saying it with 'i' and with 'y' anyway?" Black Abyss complained in an equally low voice.
Dont ignored her and kept speaking aloud.
"We noticed that you were being attacked, so we decided to come and save you~" Dont said majestically, noticing that some villagers seemed relieved, and others not so sure. And she used the masterful technique of trust that mercenaries had, as she read somewhere. "However, we are not full-time heroines. So we will require compensation for our services~" Dont tried, making a money gesture with her fingers, apparently achieving her goal by noticing the less doubtful faces, as if they were beginning to understand that everything was simply for money.
Between someone doing things out of the goodness of their heart and someone doing it for money, the one doing it for money would be more common and easier to understand.
Something she learned the hard way with her mother being the damn leader of the South American and French mafia because God knows how and why.
"They don't pay me enough..." Black Abyss sighed.
