"Are you satisfied?" Wilfrid smiled at him.
Reid didn't even know how to react.
He could only shift his attention to Brandon, lying on the sofa in a non-noble way.
His mouth twitched.
'How amusing,' he thought. 'Well, this is not an uncommon interaction between the noble siblings. Some even go as far as tormenting their fellow brothers and sisters.'
Reid shook his head and was about to reply when the knock from the door startled him.
A voice from the other side of the door echoed, "Young masters, his Highness summoned the both of you."
Then, silence ensued.
Reid felt like his heart was about to leap out from his chest.
However, he soon composed himself with the aid of one of his artifacts, cleansing his mind from any mental inducement, especially fear or stun.
Hence, he quickly turned his head and shot a glance to Wilfrid, which the latter smiled and said,
"Go and prepare. Remember, it's that carriage. I've already given the best place to initiate the assassination. Don't worry about my Uncle. Just make sure not to kill him."
The assassination plan was never to kill Luke in the first place. It was just to exhaust all his artifacts.
After all, once the artifact had been used up, Luke needed more time to heal the soul he lost imprinting to that artifact.
However, Luke wasn't blessed yet, so how could he repair his soul, and the only means was to convert the mana – filtering the impurities – to rejuvenate his soul?
Therefore, they only planned to kill him… slowly but surely.
Yet, Reid's eyes, concealed by the hood, flashed an ambiguous oceanic light.
Wilfrid didn't notice a thing.
Even if Reid wouldn't complete the mission in the way he instructed him, nothing would be out of his calculation.
If when things go awry, then he would only shrug it off.
He believed there was no such thing as a bad result, only bad calculation.
"Then, I'll leave," said Reid as he stood up.
"You should." Wilfrid nodded as he placed the empty cup on the table.
Suddenly, Reid's robe illuminated a dim azure light.
It soon formed a bubble enveloping him.
Wilfrid couldn't help but be amused by the sight in front of him.
Reid was totally enclosed by a bubble of water.
Wilfrid was aware of what that spell was.
It was, after all, a known spell in the water element, for it is a teleportation-type spell.
Rank 5 spell, Bubble Teleportation.
A rank 5 spell is a high-level spell that only a High-Mage rank above could cast.
However, it doesn't mean that Reid was a High-Mage rank, for the spell came from the artifact, after all.
An artifact that could cast a high-level spell, especially Rank 5, was usually on Tier 2 middle grade.
High-Mage rank possesses the ability iconic to its stage called Mana Aura.
Hence, the Rank 5 spell could even affect time and space, offering a chance to teleport in a short distance.
Despite this, it is already enough for Reid to teleport to his desired destination.
He might not be able to leave the castle with the short-distance teleportation, but he could teleport to the place where it could lead him to disappear without any problem.
Shortly, the bubble that enclosed Reid suddenly popped.
Droplets of water spread to the floor, but with the wave of Wilfrid's hand, the heat he released from his palm quickly evaporated them.
Just like that, the bubble vanished alongside Reid, as if he was never present in the first place.
Wilfrid shook his head and grinned.
Without further ado, he stood up and stood before Brandon.
All of a sudden, he slapped his right cheek, leaving a deep red mark that snapped him awake.
Brandon appeared defensive but soon calmed down when he saw his elder brother.
Touching his right cheek, feeling the heat, he waited before his elder brother took a step back and turned his back on him.
Wilfrid said, "We will meet, Uncle."
"We can finally meet Father?"
Brandon couldn't hold his body from shivering as his eyes gleamed in excitement.
However, what greeted him was another slap from Wilfrid.
This time, it was on the left cheek.
Now, both his cheeks were so swollen, making his noble face uglier.
Even so, he wasn't incensed.
He couldn't afford to be incensed in front of his elder brother.
Staring at the back of Wilfrid, who just faced him in a gracious movement just to slap his cheek, Wilfrid said, "It's Uncle, not Father."
"Uncle it is," Brandon said in a meek voice.
Wilfrid paced forward, and Brandon stood up, following his elder brother to leave the chamber.
***
It has been an hour since I went back to my chamber.
I was invested in reading some books and noting them all down for summarization of what I learned.
The Character trait called Highly Intelligent has been shown.
It really just helped me to comprehend a thick book in my hand, covering 500 pages, in just half an hour.
To some, even if they are geniuses, as long as they are ordinary humans, it would take them at least a week.
I could only giggle at the cheat I received.
The book I just read contains all the knowledge about an instrument called piano.
Music dominated by pianos and violins is the trend.
Although singing does have an emergence, especially in opera, classical music is just popular, as singing hasn't bloomed yet.
Famous classical music composers, such as Bethaven and many others, have already appeared.
As expected, their pieces are just well-known.
In fact, Travesky, known for his famous piece, Swan Pool, has a concert held in the kingdom.
Of course, I couldn't be more excited to be in the audience.
However, that will happen for a long time yet, as for now, I'm currently composing my own piece.
That's right!
Don't call me bold, or what.
It's just that the Highly Intelligent character trait is just too overpowered to not only let me comprehend how classical music works but also provide me insights into the piece I'm about to produce.
Speaking of pieces that have been mentioned in the novel by that goddamn author, it's not surprising that he hasn't been punished for the possible plagiarized content.
Some companies, especially the one he was under, were very strict about that.
As a result, he changed the names of the famous classical composers and even their pieces.
Right now, I don't have any intention of stealing their works, even though some famous classical pieces, like Ode to Happiness, haven't been published yet.
I want originality.
For now, I have an inspiration, so what I should do is experiment with it.
How I badly want to produce it immediately!
My shivering mind and body, as well as the creepy grinning face, snapped me awake.
Looking at the pile of papers in the middle of the table, with a quill on the upper right side and mountains of books by each side, I couldn't help but smile.
Atop the myriads of piles of papers, as all of them were obviously sheet music, at the very top what stands out the most.
Well, it couldn't be helped, as it would be the first piece I'm about to produce.
The musical piece is entitled, "Shadow Embrace."
