So instead of thinking about it further, I decided I'd better head back to Irina immediately. I do want to inform her about this. Because I found the place where the thief lived and maybe we could get our stuff back.
So I went back to the inn and told Irina what happened.
When I arrived at the inn, Irina was already waiting for me.
She then asked me if I was able to find the thief who stole our stuff and when I told her what I found out from the man who tried to flirt with me earlier, she immediately stand up from her chair and said, "Let's go and beat the crap out of this Samson bastard!"
Irina then went to get ready while I was just standing there frozen in place. I mean, I didn't expect Irina to react like this at all.
I thought that she was going to get angry and just rely on the guards to catch this Samson bastard but instead, she seems to be determined to personally catch this guy herself.
Maybe it's because she's an adventurer and this kind of situation happens all the time? Or maybe it's just personal for her since some of the stolen equipment is important to her?
Whatever it is, I'm glad that Irina is willing to help me find the thief who stole our things.
With this, I believe that we will be able to recover our items quickly and continue our journey towards Baron Harrington's mansion without delay.
Once Irina finished preparing herself, she told me to lead the way to where Samson lived and I immediately agreed to her request.
Then both of us left the inn immediately and headed straight towards the outskirts of town.
Luckily for us, this Samson person lives at the edge of town where there are fewer people around so we shouldn't have a problem finding his house.
After a few minutes of walking, we arrived at the outskirts of town and started looking around for Samson's house.
We eventually spotted a small house that looked like it had been abandoned for a long time and decided to check it out. A perfect place for a bunch of thieves to hide in…
As soon as we got close to it, I noticed that there was a man sitting outside of the house. He seemed to be overseeing us so I figured that he might be the one we're looking for.
But since he was already staring at us, it seems like he already expected that someone would come after him. Either the one earlier reported back to this Samson person or somehow they just know that we will try to get our stuff back.
Anyway, since he already spotted us, we decided to confront him directly instead of sneaking around.
As soon as we approached him, he quickly stood up and tried to run away from us. He ran into the warehouse and he sure is a fast runner. But I already invested some agility points so catching him will not be a problem at all.
Both Irina and I then chased after him immediately.
But as soon as we entered the warehouse, he immediately disappeared from our sight.
And it didn't take quite a long time before we heard several footsteps coming from all directions.
A few seconds later, a group of men appeared out of nowhere and surrounded us. There were fifteen of them in total and all of them had weapons in their hands.
Well, I guess that we fall into their traps huh?
Seeing this, I immediately prepared myself for a fight.
However, Irina didn't seem to be worried at all and just smiled confidently instead.
The guys surrounding us then told us to hand over all of our valuables or else they'd kill us.
Irina then raised her eyebrows and said, "Are you challenging me? 'Cause I love a good challenge!"
The guys surrounding us then laughed at her arrogance and just continued to threaten us.
Seeing how arrogant these guys were, I decided to put on a smile too and say, "Hey, Irina... Since these guys are threatening us, why don't we teach them a lesson?"
Hearing me say that, Irina smirked and replied, "Gladly!"
And with that, both of us then attacked them all at once.
Irina then dashed towards the nearest guy and punched him right in the face. The impact from her punch sent him flying into the air before crashing against the wall behind him. He screamed in pain as blood gushed out of his mouth.
As Irina continued her assault, I also used my hand-to-hand combat skills to take on two of the thieves at once.
While doing so, I use my fist to hit one of them right on the chin, causing him to fall backward. He groaned in pain as he tried to get up but before he could even stand up properly, I kicked him straight into the stomach causing him to collapse onto the ground.
After dealing with two thieves, I quickly turned my attention towards the remaining ones and started attacking them as well.
I threw a punch towards one of them but unfortunately, he blocked it with his arm which caused a loud cracking sound to echo throughout the warehouse.
He yelped in pain as he cradled his broken arm against his chest. He then tried to kick me but I easily dodged his attack and countered it with a kick of my own right on his knee.
His leg twisted sideways instantly and he screamed in agony as he fell to his knees.
Seeing this, I grinned mischievously and then grabbed his head and slammed it onto the ground hard. He screamed even louder as he passed out completely.
I then looked over at Irina and saw that she was handling herself quite well. She was currently fighting off four guys at once and seemed to be enjoying herself immensely. She was an S-rank adventurer after all.
Seeing that Irina didn't need any help, I focused my attention back on the remaining thieves and started attacking them again.
Meanwhile, I was still trying to deal with the remaining three thieves that surrounded me earlier. One of them charged at me while swinging his sword wildly at me. I quickly jumped to the side and avoided his attack.
