"Fou! Fou...Fou!" The little creature Fou continued to slap the master on the floor, hoping to wake him up.
The red-haired girl who was sleeping on the ground groggily opened her eyes. "What's that sound?"
Her sleepy eyes landed on the Beast in disguise and two other people who were watching her.
"Wakey, wakey, it's time for school," said Otto with a teasing tone.
"Who are you?" asked Gudako, still disoriented from her sleep.
Otto smiled and replied, "I am Otto Apocalypse, a new resident here in Chaldea."
"That's—" Mash was about to say that her name wasn't worth remembering, but Otto's words came to mind.
"There is no such thing as an 'unimportant person,' so never say such a thing, alright?"
Otto's kind words flashed through her mind, giving her a bit of courage.
"M-My name is Mash," she introduced herself, with a bit of a stutter at the beginning, but she felt proud that she managed to open up a bit.
"Er...I'm Ritsuka Fujimaru," she introduced herself, getting off the floor from where she had been sleeping. ...Why was she even sleeping there, to begin with?
"Spiritron Dives can get to you if you are not used to them," Otto suddenly spoke, confusing both Fujimaru and Mash.
Mash, of course, knew what he was talking about as she was quite knowledgeable about the subject, but she was confused as to why he suddenly brought it up.
Seeing their confused faces, Otto smiled. "It was written all over your face."
"Oh..." Fujimaru smiled back wryly.
"You should probably go to the infirmary," Mash recommended with worry on her face.
"Nope, you two have orientation. Olga would probably chew you both out if you don't arrive" Otto wanted things to stay as canon as possible, especially with the little stalker spying on them from the corner of the hall. Otto also wanted to have a little "chat" with him without Gudako or Mash being there.
"Um, but Senpai—" Mash wanted to argue with him since she was worried about Gudako's health, but Otto's piercing eyes made her keep her mouth shut.
"Now run along, help Chaldea's newest master to the orientation." Without saying a thing, Mash nodded.
"Bye, Senpai," Mash said before leaving with Gudako and Fou.
After waiting a few seconds, Otto spoke. "Come out now, or I'll slit your throat."
Otto's threat sent chills down the figure's spine; it felt as if a predator was looking down on him, ready to kill him at any time.
"Haha, sorry, I was just curious about your little conversation with Chaldea's newest master and Mash," a man with a green coat, long hair, and a green top hat came out of the shadow. His face had a slight smile, contrary to the beads of sweat dripping down his forehead.
"My name is Lev Lainur, a pleasure," the man gave a small bow.
Otto eyed him up and down. If he didn't know better, he would have guessed that Lev was just creepy.
But he knew; he knew that the man in front of him was the demon god Flauros.
Otto didn't trust him one bit. In fact, he wanted to kill him right here and now, but he had a plan that involved him and the singularities.
"I see, my name is Otto Apocalypse," Otto introduced himself with a smile.
"Huh?" This greatly confused Lev. One second he felt as if he was going to be killed, and the next second Otto was being all friendly.
'I need to find his angle,' thought Lev.
'I already know his angle,' thought Otto.
A battle of minds and wits was about to happen—well, mostly for Lev, as Otto already knew everything about him.
Lev originally had come here to meet the servant who had recently been summoned. He wanted to check if the servant would pose a problem for his plan.
His psyche, his beliefs, his favorite food—he wanted to see if he would be someone he could easily take care of.
Usually, he would already have all the information about the servant as he was registered into the Chaldea system along with his stats, but for some reason, he wasn't able to access them.
Unknown to Lev, Otto had already predicted he would do this—thus, he used [Corruption] to hack into Chaldea and seal his info from everyone except Olga and Da Vinci.
Even they weren't aware of it.
For the next few minutes, Otto and Lev "happily" chatted with each other.
'Next you'll think, "What a moron, he's so easy,"' thought Otto.
'What a moron, he's so easy,' thought Lev with an inward smile.
Lev was completely predicted by Otto.
'Otto, come to my position,' Olga's voice suddenly rang through Otto's mind, thanks to their master and servant contract.
"Ah, sorry Lev. I have to go," Otto's face turned sad as if he wanted to stay here a little bit longer.
"Yes, quite the pity, but I'm sure you are just as busy as I am," Lev had already gotten enough info on him.
Despite the feeling of fear he had felt earlier, Otto's mana levels were quite low for a servant, meaning that he was a low-ranking one.
Something that he could take care of easily with a good plan. But he still couldn't shake off the feeling that something was wrong. Lev decided to push that thought to the back of his mind for now as he had better things to worry about.
"Oh! Before I leave," Otto reached into his coat and took out what looked like a book. "I want you to take care of this until the time comes to read it." Otto handed the book to Lev, who began inspecting it.
'This?!' Mystery. Or magic close to it. Magecraft itself is basically magic with science. And mystery was magic without it—it was pure and true magic that didn't need much reason.
Mage craft itself is a diluted mystery, Mystery was basically magic but it began to disappear as man continued to make discoveries, thus erasing the "Mystery" of magic and downgrading it to mage craft which requires a lot of calculations and understanding of the said subject.
And right now, it was protecting the book from being opened somehow. Even he couldn't decipher how to, or at least didn't have the time to open it.
"What is it?" Lev asked with curiosity.
"Oh, it's nothing, just a script."
"A script?"
"Yes, a script, and I hope you will read it when the time comes, Lev." Otto's grinning figure magically disappeared as he moved towards Olga's location, leaving behind Lev and the "script" he had made.
