"Pema, hurry, get on the flying bison," Tenzin said, carrying his wife and children's bags.
He couldn't believe what was happening; the city was in chaos. It was time to go to the White Lotus headquarters and warn everyone that something disastrous was occurring.
"Darling, calm down," Pema said, carrying Jinora and Ikki by their hands, getting on the flying bison.
As Tenzin was about to retort to his wife, suddenly, he heard screams coming from behind him. Then, a White Lotus member passed by him as if being dragged by a water current, eventually falling next to a nearby statue.
Approaching the man bleeding profusely from multiple wounds, Tenzin tried to help him when a voice emerged from behind him.
"Tenzin, are you abandoning your duty to the Republic?" Gale said, ascending the steps of the great Air Nomads' Temple.
Ignoring Gale upon noticing him, Tenzin said, "Hip-Hip," as the bison soared with his family towards the nearest White Lotus base.
"Daddy!" Jinora cried in her mother's arms.
Pema hugged her daughter, holding back tears.
Using bloodbending, Gale controlled the bison, suspending it in the air.
Realizing the bison was suspended while Gale kept his gaze fixed on the animal, Tenzin's realization came to an end.
"Bloodbender," Tenzin said, his voice containing a profound sense of sadness. It was the end for him.
Tenzin directed his gaze at Gale.
"Please, Gale, for the months we've spent together. Spare my family," Tenzin pleaded while kneeling.
Seeing the man kneeling before him, begging for his family, Gale felt no compassion. He felt envy.
Envy for never having a father like Tenzin, for never experiencing normal parenthood. However, the envy soon dissipated, and his heart returned to calm.
"I can't make exceptions, Tenzin," Gale said, walking towards the airbender.

"What are you saying? The Earth Kingdom and Fire Nation councilors have been captured by the Equalists?" Tarrlok exclaimed into the phone.
He couldn't believe this was happening; when he declared martial law, he thought everyone would be scared and not react.
He didn't know the Equalists had reached this level of manipulating the people.
As he was about to unleash another insult, an explosion occurred nearby, breaking the wall.
Turning his gaze towards the explosion, he noticed a masked man.
"Amon," Tarrlok said, preparing to use bloodbending, his final trick.
Soon, Amon started running towards him.
Tarrlok looked around, checking if anyone else was present. When he realized he was alone with the masked man, he smiled.
"Take this," Tarrlok said, using bloodbending to paralyze the man.
It worked, the man stopped.
But it didn't take long for Amon to take heavy steps towards Tarrlok.
"Who are you? Are you a bender?" Tarrlok said, trying to move away from the man.
But it was futile; in a matter of seconds, Amon had control of his body again.
Approaching Tarrlok, Amon put his hand on his neck, strangling him.
"You, you," Tarrlok said, scratching the man's arms with his nails.
Seeing the man's attempt to escape his grasp, Amon tried to reassure him.
"It's okay, brother, you'll see our parents soon." Amon said.
An expression of surprise took over Tarrlok as darkness finally engulfed him.
