Chapter 1 - Intertwining Fate

"So, Asahi-kun, how did your manga become the top trending manga of today?"

"While writing, I decided to write a novel that had a mix of genres. Romance.. Action.. etc."

As ambient noise and TV static fills a room, a seven year old was sitting cross-legged in front of the television.

"Woah.! He's so cool! I want to be like him when I grow up!"

As the seven year old was watching the television, his mom steps in his room and calls him.

"Ren, it's time for dinner."

"Alright!"

Ren runs to his mom, leaving the television on.

In the television, the conversation kept going.

"But, how did you write such an amazing story?"

"A dream showed me what to write."

8 Years later, Monday, Tokyo, 6:00am

My name is Ren Hasegawa. 2nd year, and 15 years old.

I have a fear of women, the only woman I don't fear is my mom.

I'm an aspiring writer.

For the past 8 years, I haven't reached my goal of creating a perfect story like Asahi-kun.

It's my dream, my life goal to be a writer like him.

All my stories were bad and generic. I couldn't think creatively for some reason.

After all my struggles, a novel of mine got a manga adaptation, the reviews? They found it generic, like usual.

Time to walk to school.

Morning Assembly 7:00am

"Boys and girls, please fall in line!"

Hmm.. I'm Grade 8 Orione. Where's the line?

Oh there it is.

As Ren was running late finding his line for the assembly, he bumps into a certain someone.

What?

"I'm sorry!"

Scary!! She's tall!

"It's alright! By the way, what's your name?"

"Uh.. my name is Ren Hasegawa. Is this your line?"

Ren walks to his line with the tall girl.

"Yes! So we're in the same class? My name is Fuyumi Chiaki. Let's be friends!"

But.. Why is she trying to befriend a loser like me?

In school, the bell rings.

"Class dismissed!"

Ren runs up the stairs with a bento on his hand. He bumps into some people, but he kept going. Finally reaching the rooftop, the place that calms him the most, he meets a familiar face.

"I like you, Fuyumi-san!"

What? A confession? Let's see how this goes...

"No, I hate boys like you."

The rejected boy stands there like a statue.

Ren, still eavesdropping, barely hears them but is interested in this topic, because he wants to implement how true romance works in his novels.

"I'm going to go downstairs."

This alerts Ren, since he was eavesdropping, when he tried to go back downstairs, it was too late.

He feels a hand on his shoulder.

"Hasegawa? What are you doing here, you were eavesdropping weren't you?"

Scary!!!

"Um.. I go to the rooftop to calm myself, but I found you instead. I'm sorry I was eavesdropping."

"Whatever."

Fuyumi then walks past him while pouting, not saying a singular word, Ren finally calms down.

"What kind of encounter was that?"

Dismissal Time - 4:00pm

"It's dismissal time. I'll need to finish 1 chapter of my novel."

Ren, in the rooftop, was admiring the view from the rooftop, he finds it as a perfect writing space.

Alright. Time to write another chapter for my novel!

2 hours have passed, then Ren has finished his draft for the chapter.

"Damn.. It's 6pm already. I'll need to be fast. I'm gonna miss the publishing deadline."

Ren runs down the stairs from the rooftop, and when he reached to the main gate of the school, he found it locked.

Damn.. It's locked already?

There was an open window from the grade 9 classroom, I'll have to get out there.

Ren went to the classroom and saw the open window, but he sees the height of the jump, he hesitates.

Gulp..

I'll do whatever it takes to publish my novel!

Ren jumps and took a huge fall from the second floor to the ground floor, but tall grass cushioned his fall.

He was free.

I'll get some cup ramen for dinner, and I'll go to the local convenience store

As Ren was walking to the local convenience store, he spots Fuyumi and the rejected boy in the back alley.

What? That boy came to get revenge? How stereotypical.

Let's see how this goes.
