I glared at him, frustration and anger boiling beneath the surface but knowing the seriousness of the situation, I stopped struggling. Amelia shot me a look of worry and then looked at Cassius. "What you're doing is wrong, King Cassius," she implored. "You are King, your actions are being watched. You cannot—"
"Princess Amelia, you are in no position to lecture me," he interrupted, his voice icy enough to freeze the air between us. "Right now, you are not a princess; you are a prisoner in my dungeons. Consider the consequences of betraying your kingdom and fooling mine before you speak."
Amelia paused, as a look of guilt flashed through her face. She looked at me and I shook my head, asking her not to beg this man. He didn't deserve it, but she ignored me.
