Had I lost her?
That thought settled in my chest like a stone, heavy and suffocating. The images played out in agonizing detail —my angel, my Sylvia, laughing and frolicking in the woods with that boy. Their laughter melded together like music, a haunting melody that deepened my dread. Building castles in the sand together, sharing secrets and joys. The vision of that future was terrifying and gut-wrenching.
My fists clenched involuntarily, and a storm brewed in my chest. I felt a suffocating dread wash over me, unlike anything I had ever experienced. Since this future didn't belong to me. I wouldn't accept it. I refused to let this happen.
Unaware of my turmoil, Sylvia turned to me, her face beaming with joy. "Rhys, meet Noel, my new elven friend!" she announced with enthusiasm.
