"Did the devil just call you childish?" I mused, my brow furrowed in confusion.
It wasn't a whisper, a hallucination, or some strange trick in my mind. It was the devil's voice, clear as day, resonating directly within my thoughts.
But how was it possible?
My gaze darted to Killian, his expression mirroring my own bewilderment. His eyes widened in surprise, and even the devil seemed taken aback for a moment. Then, a wave of manic laughter echoed in Killian's mind. 'Hahaha... my bride can hear me! I am so happy! My bride hears me... hahaha... now we are truly one... hahaha...'
"Shut up! Your creepy laughter is giving me a headache!" Killian muttered under his breath, his face contorted in annoyance.
The devil, however, was unfazed by Killian's complaint, his laughter escalating in volume and intensity. I couldn't help but suppress a smile, but my confusion remained. "Killian, how is this possible? How am I able to hear the devil's voice?"
