Chapter 29 - Calm before the storm.

The darkness that was around Aldin started wrapping all around him, this made moving tedious. He shone light upon the space surrounding his trying to fend off the darkness but nothing happened nor changed.

'This must be an attack, and it has to have mana in it if light can not shine on it, let's see how they can handle this.' Aldin thought to himself.

Aldin spread out his will and took over the mana breaking apart the spell that was trapping him. The darkness fell apart and at the moment the Aldin was free and found in front of him floating in the air, a darkness attributed panther. The beast was shocked to see Aldin free from it's trap and it's mana out of its control, nothing made sense.

Aldin looked at it once and could see that the beast was weak but it also did not have the courage to attack him nor was it strong enough and it knew this, it tried to escape but Aldin was a step ahead of it and used take over and it lost control of its mana and the next second it was plummeting to the ground but Aldin killed it before it could get to the ground.

The carcass was swallowed by the ground when it landed for safekeeping.

'Now to go look for those bugs,' Aldin thought to himself, flying through the air Aldin he was looking down at the ground looking for anything to do with the beast that had ambushed him on the day he was hunting, he went through the woods, while in the air he would look down at the ground looking for anything to do with the beast he wanted dead, he found all the openings to their caves and also see them in action to determine their habits, there were very many of them and Aldin did not want to inform them of his presence and also deal with them while taking his time.

Aldin stayed in the air trying to come up with an idea on how he would beat them, from all he had learnt about beasts he knew something about spiders and with the information he had he began making a plan on how he would deal with, but first he had to make the necessary preparation and for that he would need to get some materials, Aldin then went around hunting beasts before dawn could arrive and as the sun rose he went back to his underground lair.

"I am back," Aldin said announcing his presence the two were already in the lab working on the carcasses.

'They are realy doing a good job,' Aldint thought to himself.

"Your back, how did it go?" Min asked.

"I was not in the situation I could deal with them but I came up with a plan, and I now have to prepare to execute it," Aldin said.

"Is there anything we can help you do to help?" Adam said

"Yes, I need this darkness attributed panthers dismantled, there is something I want to try with it," Aldin said and dumped it together with other beast in the storage area and went to take a soak in the bath tub.

While in the tub, several ideas crossed his mind, he adjusted his plan several times looking for a smooth way to handle everything, but most of them relied on whether he would be able to achieve what he wanted with the darkness attributed panther.

Aldi left for the lab some time after, he was in casual black attire as he walked in.

The duo had finished dismantalling the panther.

The jars he had in the lab were almost full since the two had been working a lot and he added more for them.

"Thank you for all you're help," Aldin said.

"Your welcome," Adam said. He had been rude ever sice he had met Aldin but now he was more quite and polite, this was all because of the food Aldin had fed him. In all his life, Adam had never had such delicious food, probably because his life had never been that fortunate and all it took was food to tame him.

Aldin then took the panther's skin and core, then he added some more space on the side of the lab.

Picking up the core Aldin used his forging abilties to merge the two materials, he spread the core throught out the skin while maintaining the connections then he shaped the skin to look like a cloak.

"Time for the test," Aldin said tense, he had no Idea what could possibly come from the experiment.

With the cloak still in his hands, he poured mana into the material, infront his eyes, the cloak just vanished, he could feel it but he was not able to see it clearly nor his hands beneath it, the experiment was a success.

Then he got to work preparing things for the hunt. He had to break though to make the two men some food, then after eating he went back to get on with his preparations.

After several hours of work Aldin was ready, with him he had giant earth pillars that had an array on them made with a few cores together with inscriptions. He had prepared several bombs but with a modification to ensure that they detonated even when he was far away and also a trick in their casing to make sure none of them were able to escape.

Aldin packed everything ready to head out but first, he had to make a meal for his two guests.

They sat down and had their meal.

"Where are you going?" Min asked.

"I am going to get rid of those spiders, I found all the entrances to their lair and I want to end them all," Aldin said.

"Okay, and why did you make all those things ?" Adam asked.

"These items are going to save me the effort of being everywhere at the same time," Aldin answered honestly.

"Can we join, we would like to be part of the action?" Min asked.

"Sure, but I want to take the bests in the cave alone," Aldin said, clearly angry but none of his aura was leaking out of his body, he had gained true control of the power he had.

Once they were done, the three of them left and went to the outside world, when they got out it was just as the moon rose into the sky.

"So what do we do?" Adam asked.

"I will need you to go around killing them, I will give you the signal for when to do that," Aldin said.

"Okay," Aldin said before he suddenly rose up in the sky flying away.

Aldin then went through the sky and found the entrance of the giant baboon spiders. Once he was done Aldin rose in the sky to look down waiting for the perfect time to start the attack. The beast got out for the night and so did the other nocturnal animals, they were hunting for their next day with more vigour something big was going to happen.

Meanwhile on the ground after Aldin had left, Min and Adam were ready to move out but before then they had to talk something out.

"What is the change in attitude?" Min asked. When Adam and the MIn first crossed paths, Adam had already faced numerous challenges at a remarkably young age. The world had been harsh to him, and the people he grew up with hadn't been much kinder. Despite the hardships, the two of them would venture out in search of food and roofs over their heads, searching for any scraps or resources they could lay their hands on.

After awakening his magic Min would work as an adventurer to get them food on the table and clothes on their bodies, Adam awoke his magic later on and was able to add to their daily earnings. In all that time Adam had always had an awful personality and anger issues, now in front of Aldin he had been rude then suddenly he was kind, a 180-degree turn in character.

"What do you mean?" Adam asked perplexed.

"I mean, why have you suddenly warmed up to Aldin, I thought you didn't like the kid, and now you just become so good to him, it is just not you," Min thought to himself remembering all the time Adam had been excessively rude to others.

"Is there anything wrong with that, I can choose how to act, it is up to me how I act, do you have a problem with that," Adam said shocking Min, though his cheeks were bright red and with the darkness MIn was not able to see anything.

"You're right it is up to you," Min said.

'The kid has finally grown up, at least he let go of all that pain he had, I hope he can find the peace he so needs, too bad he has nobody to share it with,' Min though to himself
