Chapter 25 - Some Love Persists Eternally

"Some love lingers on, a heart's enduring song,

Yet, some love fades away, like shadows long."

-

Under the expansive Parisian sky, Ryan and Alex embarked on a day that belonged solely to them—a canvas painted with the strokes of love. The adventure began at Place Vendôme, where the history of the city met the sparkle of luxury. Hand in hand, they meandered through the echoes of time and the modern heartbeat of Paris.

Crossing the Seine, they found themselves on the storied Pont des Arts, adorned with love locks that whispered tales of devotion. Their footsteps resonated on the bridge as they exchanged glances, their connection flowing deeper than the river below.

Wandering through the narrow streets of the 6th arrondissement, they reached Jardin du Luxembourg—a haven of serenity nestled in the heart of the bustling city. The air carried the sweet fragrance of blooming flowers, a poetic contrast to the lively streets they traversed.

In Jardin du Luxembourg, they strolled beneath the sheltering branches of trees, fingers interlaced. The wind's whispers seemed to carry the secrets of a love that flourished amid the beauty of the city. The distant laughter of playing children and the soft murmur of a fountain provided a serene backdrop to their intimate journey.

"Today, I just want to be here with you, Ryan. No plans, just us," Alex confessed with a smile.

"Sounds perfect, love," Ryan replied with a nod.

As they explored the garden's winding paths, the world faded into the background.

With a gentle proposal, Alex suggested finding a secluded spot in Jardin du Luxembourg to sit and simply observe the vibrant tapestry of life. They settled on a quiet bench, nestled amidst the greenery, and Alex's intent gaze turned towards the people who populated the picturesque scene. Young lovers sat close, their laughter dancing in the air, kisses exchanged like promises of forever. Some jogged along the paths, their rhythmic footsteps adding to the symphony of the garden. Others immersed themselves in books on the benches, lost in worlds beyond the garden's borders.

Alex, enraptured by the diverse stories unfolding around them, found solace in the simplicity of these shared moments. A small kiss was planted on Ryan's cheek, a sweet testament to the joy that filled their hearts. As Alex rested his head on Ryan's shoulder, an embrace unfolded—gentle, intimate, and a mirror of the scenes playing out in the charming Jardin du Luxembourg.

In the midst of the garden's serenity, they became an image—a living portrait of love and tranquility. The slow dance of the day continued, each moment etching a memory in the heart of their Parisian escapade.

Alex: "Ryan, I want to stay like this with you forever. It feels like time slows down when I'm with you, like there's nothing to worry about."

Ryan: "I want that too, Alex. Just doing nothing, watching time pass by, growing old together."

Ryan: "You know, in the beginning, I used to go for long walks by English Bay or Stanley Park. Sometimes even hiking. I was so confused about what I was feeling for you. I'd never felt that way about anyone before, whether man or woman. I needed to figure it out."

Alex: "Oh, Ryan. Our first meet, that collision. Did you do the accident on purpose or was it accidental?"

Ryan: "On purpose. But Alex, I have to be honest with you. That wasn't the first time we met."

Alex: "Really? What happened?"

Ryan: "The first time I saw you... I was in UBC for a donation event, and afterwards, I wanted to skip some unnecessary conversation, so I went down to Wreck Beach for a walk. The shore was empty, the sky dark, seagulls calling. And there you were, with your black hat, taking photos of the shore. You smiled at me, this pure, radiant smile, and then you walked away. I'd never seen a smile like that before, one that made me feel so at ease. That image stayed with me. I'm grateful I finally got to meet you."

Alex: "Oh baby... I remember that. That was you! I'm glad that was you."

Alex: "Ryan, you make me believe in fate, in the idea that some things are just meant to be. I've never felt this way before. It's like everything in my life led me to you."

Ryan: "Alex, you've brought so much joy and clarity into my life. I used to walk for hours, trying to make sense of what I felt for you. And now, here we are."

Alex: "Ryan, do you think we'll be like this forever? Watching time pass by, growing old together?"

Ryan: "I hope so."

In the tender embrace of Ryan's arms, Alex give a sweet kiss on the lips. As their lips met, he felt a rush of warmth and a unique sense—Ryan's scent, a comforting and intoxicating blend that made Alex's heart race.

Nestled in Ryan's embrace, Alex closed his eyes, savoring the touch that made him feel both crazily in love and profoundly at peace. Ryan's arms were a haven, a place where time seemed to slow, and the world faded away.

As Alex's gaze shifted to the lovers in the garden, a soft smile played on his lips. Each couple seemed to emit a radiant glow, their love casting a warm light on the surroundings. In that moment, Alex perceived love as a promise—a promise that could endure the fleeting nature of minutes, seconds, or stretch into the vastness of eternity.

With a serene expression, Alex spoke words that echoed his musings:

"Some people are destined to meet, no matter what. And some love... some love could stay forever."

In the lingering twilight of Jardin du Luxembourg, Ryan and Alex continued their stroll, hand in hand. The soft glow of the street lamps added a touch of magic to the surroundings, enhancing the romance of the evening.

Alex: "You know, this feels like a dream. I never imagined I'd be strolling through a Parisian garden hand in hand with someone as amazing as you."

Ryan: "Well, get used to it, because there are many more dreamy moments to come."

They found a charming Parisian café nestled in a quiet corner, adorned with flickering candles and wrought-iron chairs. Ryan gestured for Alex to sit, and they shared a quiet moment, surrounded by the fragrance of blooming flowers and the distant murmur of the city.

Alex: "I can't believe how lucky I am to be here with you, Ryan. It's like every moment is straight out of a romance movie."

Ryan: "You deserve all of this, Alex. You bring so much joy into my life, and I want to give you every magical experience."

The evening breeze carried a hint of Parisian charm, and as they sat at the quaint café, Ryan pulled Alex closer, their fingers intertwined. The Eiffel Tower loomed in the distance, its twinkling lights adding a touch of whimsy to the scene.

Ryan: "Do you know what I love about Paris, Alex?"

Alex: "What's that?"

Ryan: "It's the way the city weaves romance into every corner. And being here with you makes it even more special."

With those words, Ryan leaned in, capturing Alex's lips in a gentle yet passionate kiss. It was a kiss filled with the magic of Paris, a kiss that spoke of love and longing.

Amidst the picturesque streets of Paris, the group found themselves enchanted by the city's allure. Alex and Ryan, hand in hand, strolled along the Seine, where the lights of the Eiffel Tower reflected in the water like a thousand dancing stars.

Alex: "Paris is like a dream. I never want this to end."

Ryan: "Every moment with you feels like a dream, Alex. And we have so much more to experience together."

The charm of Paris extended to their every interaction—whether it was savoring delicate macarons in a quaint patisserie, wandering through the romantic Montmartre district, or stealing kisses beneath the Arc de Triomphe. Lily and Daniel were equally captivated by the city's magic, their laughter harmonizing with the melodies of street musicians.

As they sat in a cozy Parisian cafe, sipping espresso and sharing stories, the conversation turned to their impending journey to London.

Lily: "I can't believe we're about to embark on another adventure. London awaits!"

Daniel: "I'm excited for the British charm and all the iconic landmarks. Do you think we'll meet the King?"

Ryan: "Meeting the King might be a bit ambitious."

Their laughter echoed through the cobbled streets, mingling with the city's nighttime symphony. The Eiffel Tower, standing tall in the distance, seemed to silently bless their journey, knowing that the magic of Paris had left an indelible mark on each of their hearts.

Alex: "I'll miss Paris, but I'm curious about London. What do you think, Lily?"

Lily: "Paris has been a dream, but I'm ready for the next chapter. London sounds like a fantastic place for more adventures."

With a sense of anticipation, they left the cafe, their steps echoing in the quiet streets. As they approached the hotel, where their suitcases waited in readiness, Ryan shared his thoughts on the upcoming transition.

Ryan: "London will be different, but London is one of my favorite cities."

In the lobby, their excitement heightened as they hailed a luxury car to take them to Charles de Gaulle Airport for a private jet. The city lights shimmered as they bid farewell to Paris, their hearts brimming with memories that would forever be etched in the fabric of their shared story.

As they boarded the private jet, Paris lay below them like a quilt of twinkling lights. Ryan, gazing out of the window, turned to Alex with a promise in his eyes.

Ryan: "London awaits us, Baby." Then a gentle kiss on Alex's lips.

With a final glance at the City of Love, the private jet soared into the night sky, carrying their dreams and adventures toward the next destination—London.
