Chapter 2 - Chapter 1.- History is right?

#Calixto's Capital part 1

[22 of Lumin, 53 years d.R].

-On a sunny day and while the leaves are swaying, a cool breeze leaves me feeling alone in this field, lying down looking at the sky, thinking if there was a more peaceful place than this, time passes by while the nuts change and I feel how I disconnect from this reality ... "aah" ... my eyelids weigh me down it's so peaceful..., sure I'll be scolded if I fall asleep but... it will only be a moment.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"I open my eyes in surprise, the sky is red, and in the distance I can hear screams and clashes of steel....

-I can't see what's happening, I need to get up, I try to use my arms but I can't feel them "What? Why?" desperate I turn my body upside down "agh agh agh agh" it's hard to breathe, but .... even so I continue and leaning my head against the ground, I manage to get on my knees "ugh!" I feel as if my lungs are filling with water. I can't get up, my legs don't move. I can only see the ash covered ground, my neck has no strength to look around.

"..... am I dreaming?" as soon as I asked myself a voice similar to mine echoed in my head.

"Why did this happen, something is wrong, it wasn't supposed to happen like this, is it my fault? "The words popped up in my mind..

-Was it me? The voice became more and more erratic sobbing, screaming, wailing my head hurt.

I brought him here, I should've known, he knew, even I knew, because..., maybe he wasn't even aware of it?

- I was feeling dizzy, my vision was blurring, is this death? Soon a voice stilled all the screams

[Unknown] "WAKE UP!" it was a boy's voice.

-Who was it? Who is speaking?

[Unknown] "IT'S NOT OVER YET GET UP!" He sounded desperate

--I can't see well, my eyesight is still dull, is this blood?

[Unknown] "VIANA!"

--Why do I feel so empty?

--Looking up slightly, he could notice a shadow approaching as the sky darkened...it was strange, if it was a nightmare then why am I not afraid? Watching as the sky turned a deep black, the only thing he heard was the voice of a boy who could barely speak.

[Unknown] "Why....damn it via!.... move..... damn quiet we still can!"

-I could notice how the silhouette in front of me seemed to be full of sadness, however, I couldn't feel sorry for seeing him like that, I wasn't even surprised, I guess I didn't want to acknowledge it.

"Ah, it's really cold."

-Soon my vison just tinged a deep red color until it became extremely dark.

"Ah!"

-I woke up and with my eyes wide open I looked at the sky, "gray" I said to myself but.... Did the color matter? how long had I slept? what was I dreaming I remembered... mmm?

-I felt something running down my cheek, was I crying? or are these raindrops, I was confused.

-Looking at how some drops were falling around, it didn't matter, I had to hurry back home.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"agh, agh, agh."

-I'm almost there it seems that the rain reached me, my shoes are wet and the puddles don't help me, the wind is cold and the leaves of the trees are moving strongly, I see a light in the distance, I can already see it, a cabin at the foot of a mountain, without thinking about it I hurried the step.

"Mom, Dad, I'm home "As I opened the door, a warm gust enveloped my body.

-I looked around the cozy living room, where the stairs leading to the second floor were located. Below them, a fire pit illuminated every corner of the house.

-I looked to the right, where the kitchen extended, my father and mother were sitting and seemed to be waiting for me.

-My mother turned to see me, full of fury and worry, probably because all my clothes were a mess. She approached me, surely she was ready to scold me to sleep.

"Viana, what happened to you, don't you see how you are, you had us worried, your brothers went out to look for you ...."

-I felt guilty and sorry. It seemed that I had made them worry a lot. I looked at my father, seeking comfort who quickly understood.

"Calm down honey, the kids won't have gone far, they're probably on their way back by now."

-Suddenly an unpleasant sensation ran through my body, maybe due to sleep," Agh" maybe it means that something bad is going to happen, I can't stay here waiting, taking a small robe I hurriedly said goodbye.

"I'm going to look for them, I'll be back soon."

"!Wait..."

-As fast as I opened the door I saw two boys, soaked and full of mud, they had several scratches on their arms besides some leaves stuck on their clothes, Looking at me indifferently my older brother Alán came in.

"Oh, you're home already!"

-Walking with an apparent naturalness, as if he had not been worried, Alan took off his shoes.

-Despite being a year older, he was not entirely honest with his emotions. However, noticing the unkemptness of his black hair and the slight irritation in his coffee-colored eyes, I understood that he had been tirelessly searching for me.

"! Sister!"

-In contrast, he is different... my younger brother Thomas didn't hold back and hugged me tightly. Although he was only a year younger, he was someone sensitive who always openly expressed how he felt.

Even in his two-tone eyes, which reflected oil and water, you could see the concern. Rubbing my hand through his gray hair I reassured him.

"I'm home at ease now."

-Even after my words the hug didn't stop I could even feel his hair and even a sensation as if he was cuddling with my clothes, wait a minute, I quickly realized, #this little guy was using me as a towel.

"Get away, you're just drying yourself off with me."

"You must feel the same way too, I'm cold!"

-Quickly started a pushing and shoving match, as my older brother headed towards the fireplace, taking off his clothes in the process looking at us in disbelief as he pointed to the fire, so I quickly managed to get loose and head for the fireplace.

"Then go to the fireplace!"

-I was happy. My mom started to laugh and as she saw us three kids grouped in a ball she came over and hugged us as if she wanted to keep this moment for the rest of her life, I who was 14 years old could not imagine that anything can change your life in an instant....

-Shortly after she got up and prepared the table for dinner, my father was busy researching golden age artifacts, my brothers were still shivering from the cold so we went upstairs to put on our pajamas, by the time we came down my mother was already waiting for us to eat.

"By the way Viana what are you going to want for a present, do you want to go to Calixto?"

-Already at the table my mother was asking me if I wanted to go to the capital for my birthday since at the age of 15 people are already considered an adult and we had to look for someone to become our teacher for a trade, however, I wanted to learn from my father.

"mmmm isn't that far away?"

-The trip would be long and the costs for transportation would not be cheap probably tell me that it is no problem since my father goes from time to time to present his results but....

"It's not too far, it's a day away" with a nonchalant voice my mother said.

"I thought it was further away, it usually takes my father a week to come back!" she was amazed why was my father late then?

-My father banged his head against the table scaring us, and then changed to a sad mood thinking about what to say to us.

"When I go to the capital I hand in my reports, but all those people, those people, those people.... They are uneducated! I have to explain it several times, besides they take hours to attend me and when it seems I have an appointment they postpone it, I would really like to return home with my beautiful children, but they don't let me those guys who don't appreciate these relics..." the complaints continued.

-It seemed like she wouldn't stop complaining for a while about how she was being treated, nervous I didn't know what I should do, it was then that with a slight nudge, my brothers looked at the stairs, my mom turned to us asking us to stay with her, however...we decided to run away to our room.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-Once in the room Thomas went to his bed and hugging the pillow, full of concern he turned to see me. "Are you leaving the house?"

"Why would you think that?" I answered as I picked up one of the books I liked best.

"Aren't you going to go to the capital and study at the artifact institute?"

-His look said he truly thought I was lying to him, I closed the book and headed to bed.

"As you think, I will study with my father and work as his disciple at home, anyway, he has the prestige of being one of the best in the field plus he has his own workshop in the mountain."

-I turned to see Alán who has been immersed for a while fixing his tools and leafing through some books. And with confidence and with a carefree tone, I cleared my throat to continue.

"It will be the same as with Alán was taken by a master blacksmith from the capital, but he has been practicing at home thanks to the artifact my father discovered, only I will be working with my teacher."

-Thomas looking at me innocently looked like he was still hesitating so I reached out to hug him.

"Besides I couldn't part with a brother as cute as you."

"Hey let go of me!"

-Setting aside his tools and getting up with a look of annoyance Alan looked at us.

"And your big brother, isn't he cute?"

-With a smile full of pride he looked at us. Without taking much notice I simply replied.

"You're not cute, you're scary."

-Alan, who looked annoyed, responded by pointing disapprovingly at us.

"A yes, you just don't know how to appreciate beauty."

-I continued hugging Thomas ignoring Alan who was still trying to get attention,it was then that mom came in, with an annoyed expression and threatening pose she looked at us, clearly she was upset for being abandoned with dad, I quickly hid with Thomas between the sheets while a silhouette surrounded the bed.

-My mother humming a cold song as she approached, she extended her hand and could be seen through the sheet, time seemed to stop as she approached, when she finally lifted it.

-It was then when she started a pillow fight and between several laughs and games we got tired and fell down on top of the bed looking at the ceiling, soon after we were lying there looking at the ceiling my mother got up and picking up her messy hair she sent us to sleep exclaiming that soon she would be an adult and would not be able to play as she had been doing so far. She was a little sad and thinking about her words I stopped her from her clothes.

"Mom do you think you can read this story to me one more time before I grow up?""What are you talking about to me you will always be a child."

-She slowly picked up the book, looked at the cover and smiled slightly."You really want to be an investigator..."-His gaze focused on the book and in the silence of the night while he watched through the window of the room I heard ...."I liked this story too..."-It was a whisper ,I think she said something... I couldn't think much about it, Her sweet voice soon told the story of the mysteries of this world leaving behind that whisper.....

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------A long, long time ago the world was divided into 4 layers, none of these had precise knowledge about the others, but the clues of their existence were scattered among them, all of them had remnants of each other since they had been together before.... However, a force separated them.....-

-Over time one of the layers began to experiment and innovate in various technologies, the advancement was unparalleled, but by advancing so fast people stagnated, there was nothing new to explore.Maybe there was no more?

-In the face of this question they began to develop other types of research... .... and after searching they found it... they concluded that the unknowns that in their layer could not be found, were mentioned in ancient texts that they considered as mere speculations and thus they began their own way.

-Their coarse intelligence led them to understand the existence of the other layers, their desire for knowledge made them the pioneers in the journey between layers and although they continually failed, such mistakes only led them to success, it was then that the rup ..."Viana, if you are listening to the story, it is not as someone tells you, there is always another possibility, my beautiful daughter...".
