Chapter 8 - Chapter 3.- The Lie

# What a curious world part 1

[17 Persv, 51 years AD]

-In another place and another time, during a night where an old wooden roof covers the stars and the wind is as cold as ice, a group of boys were huddled inside a small shed full of tools and chains that rattled every night.

Where am I? The last thing I remember is... Ah! It hurts... It burns, tears, breaks, suffocates, survives... Huh?... My head! What is this? Why do I see these things? Is this me?... Vía? Who is it? Who are you?... Ah!... I don't want to die, I don't want to live. All these memories burn my heart... Ah!... Mmm... I don't feel anything anymore, I don't see anything. In fact, all this suffocates me. It's so hard... Can't I just let it go? This darkness is so cozy I just feel the tears falling I can't give up, can I?

"Alex, Alex, Alex, wake up, come on Alex….."

-I hear someone whisper loudly as they push me. It hurts a little. My eyes, marked by tears and burning from the cold, slowly open. Still sleepy, I turn my gaze to the boy who just pulled me out of that nightmare. The pain persists, but my attention is focused on the blurry figure in front of me.

"Are you okay Alex?"

.....I still couldn't process what that was, nightmare?... ack [several images invaded my mind] No... this is [More images permeated, memories filled me] and without realizing it I had returned to the past. The proof?... It was this boy in front of me, how could I forget these unique features? His long blue hair like the depths of the ocean, purple eyes like an amethyst, a small fang peeking out of his mouth and his hands full of cuts that wiped my tears, I couldn't stop looking at him, he hadn't changed, trying to comfort me in a warmer tone he spoke to me.

"There, there, there, everything is okay, here we are"

-What was this? I was sure it was cold so why? Why do I feel so warm in my chest? The tears only fell like rain. Still, resting my palm against the ground, I stood up, staring at the boy in front of me. Ah... really, really, really. On his face, I saw the reflection of a past that I missed intensely, and an immeasurable smile lit up my face when I realized that he had finally returned.

"You haven't changed at all, Liam."

"It seems that you have gone crazy, Alex."

-With a little confusion, Liam smiled boldly, that cold night became so warm with his smile, and I had become a regressor... I couldn't enjoy this feeling because if I don't do anything to change the future, I will lose all that warmth. What date will it be? I have to tell him.

"Liam"

-I stopped for a moment, my mind trembled... but will he believe me? Will he think I'm crazy? How do I tell him? Is he still a child? What do I do? What do I say? ... am I a child or an adult? Doubts sprouted in my head and like a bubbling pot, they exploded, leaving me in strong pain. Lost in the confusion, some words resonated.

"Are you okay?"

-Liam looked scared, however, taking a breath Liam continued

"Alex, no matter what happens we will always be together"

-I was a little surprised it seemed that my worries had been expressed on my face. But just by seeing Liam the doubts disappeared. Calm and looking into his eyes the words came out.

"So, could you listen to a story?"

-I looked at him with determination looking for an answer, hesitation, hesitation? It didn't matter, he simply nodded as he settled down to listen to me, Smiling I said to myself. "Of course if it's you" without questioning or doubting I began to tell the story about the future that I know, about the people who will die, the ones we will meet and the ones we will lose, places, dates, artifacts, monsters... time passes and between the sound of the chains two boys saw how the rays of light filled that dark shed.

"That's what "I'm going to step…"

-I had told Liam the most important things from start to finish, although I also lied to him about other parts that he shouldn't know, especially if I avoid it. He seemed to be analyzing my words, while his gaze kept looking at the sun that was barely peeking through the boards. When he turned to look at me with a serious look.

"I think it's a terrible nightmare"

-ah I got a little discouraged; I guess he wouldn't believe me, we're still kids, I think I'll have….

"But…, if it were true, we'll find a way to avoid it, won't we?"

"THUD!" They kicked the door of the shed and the sunlight entered, dazzling our eyes.

"Get up rats!"

-The rays of light were blocked by the enormous figure of a man, stretching out his arm he took the arm of one of the other children who were still dazzled, Liam quickly got up to help, when the little one had already been thrown out of the shed hitting the ground he turned a few times while the drag of his clothes with the earth could be heard, Liam began to lift everyone up so that they could get out and not be thrown.

"Come on, come on, quickly"

-The man turned back in search of his next victim, I decided to get up and help Liam hurry the others; The man seeing that everyone was already leaving just snorted "Tch" while taking the chains that were hanging, once outside I stopped for a moment to see that landscape that I had forgotten, surrounded by huge mountains covered in snow, several houses and warehouses circulated around an excavation, where hundreds of children were taken to work.

"Why aren't you lining up?"

-I only felt how he pulled my hair when I was already on the ground, I turned back the other children were lined up in rows even the boy who had flown a while ago, when I saw how something was approaching my face I immediately reacted managing to dodge it. Focusing on where it came from, I noticed that it had been the man's fist, who seemed more upset, it was then that a kick hit me in the stomach, feeling my stomach empty and crash against the shed.

Ugh!!

"How dare you challenge me!"

"! Get up you "##%$&" rat! "

-Clearly he was approaching me to finish hitting me, my stomach really hurt, maybe I should be thankful that we hardly eat and that's why I hadn't been able to vomit anything, but the malnutrition that we all had was a bigger problem, my body couldn't get up after that blow.

"! Leave it alone! "

- A small snowball hit the man's back, it was Liam who trembling held another snow projectile. The man turned to see him with a threatening face

"Eh? What did you just say?"

- Liam was still shaking, but still…. "! Leave it! " ; The man looking at Liam just smiled slightly and stopped putting on a threatening posture to gather his hair.

"It seems that today, he has more energy than usual, perhaps I should exploit that spirit?"

-His look had changed he had a malicious smile on his face and his eyes were ecstatic. Clearly he had not started this life well.

"! Line up! "

-The man had started again in front of the rows, while I tried to get up Liam had approached to help me, we walked slowly towards the row, The man was facing the other boys while he arranged the chains. Looking at us impatiently he took one end of the chain.

"! "Wait, you're going to move forward!"

-Everyone was shaking as he moved towards the man, as soon as the first boy approached the chains like snakes opened tight around the boy's ankle "clang" the sound when closing was abrupt like a crocodile's bite, and continued until the boy had flown away.

"Wait, not you; stand over there."

"Huh? Wait, did I do something wrong? Please forgive me, please..."

-A punch had silenced the boy.

"I told you to stand over there!"

-With his gaze down, the boy headed towards where he was pointed, it was a lonely sight I think his name was Noah, his hair was white as snow and eyes like gold, it really wasn't something normal to see, was he new here? I was lost in my thoughts. When I finally realized, it was my turn.

"Hey! You too, get over there and take your friend with you"

-Liam and I had been sent with Noah to the side of the others. While we watched as everyone else was chained, worried about what would happen to us, they looked at us, although there weren't many options, he was probably going to beat us until he let off steam. The man had finished chaining everyone, pushing a girl forward.

"Ready, all of you go where you always go"

-The others stared at us as if they knew they would never see us again

"What are you waiting for?"

-He pushed the boys roughly again, who fearfully began to walk towards the excavation. The man turned to look at us after a few steps and spat on the ground.

"You guys follow me"
