Chapter 138 - Chapter 138: The Last Chance

"Ding-a-ling!" Just as Robert was leading the group towards an uninhabited area, his phone suddenly rang. Upon seeing the caller ID, Robert raised an eyebrow and muttered, "What a coincidence!"

Indeed, the caller was none other than Jackie Chan. As soon as Robert answered the call, Jackie's somewhat anxious voice came through, "Robert, I've received news that there's a reaction from the power of a talisman, and it's near your school. Be careful!"

"I already know, I'm dealing with it. You don't need to come over. I'll come to you after I've handled it," Robert whispered to Pietro and Lorna after glancing at them.

"Ah!" Jackie paused for a moment before quickly responding, "Got it, be careful."

Jackie ended the call, and Robert shook his head, signaling to Kara with his eyes.

"So, you want to challenge me? Let's see what changes you've made since the last time," Kara understood Robert's hint and said to Lorna with a smile.

"Let's do it!" Lorna, unaware that her talisman had been exposed, still chose to conceal her superpower. She and Kara clasped arms and began to exert force.

After all, this was a duel between two female students in the school. They couldn't possibly engage in a fistfight like Robert and his enemies, nor could they really pull each other's hair out in public, as that would tarnish their image.

Therefore, for Lorna and Kara, their duel was nothing more than a test of strength. And in their previous encounters, Kara had undoubtedly emerged victorious.

Or rather, since Kara had started school, she had never lost in this regard, even when arm-wrestling with boys, earning her the nickname "Super Strong Girl."

With a buzz, Lorna once again felt the incredible strength emanating from Kara's arm. Her lips curled up slightly, feeling proud as she activated the power of the chicken talisman.

The force of levitation acted upon Kara, who looked bewildered as Lorna lifted her up. Lorna then threw Kara backward, intending to slam her to the ground, a feat made possible only by the power of the chicken talisman.

However, what Lorna didn't expect was that when she let go, Kara floated in mid-air, looking at her with a smirk and said, "It seems you've used an unauthorized power in our duel, haven't you, Lorna?"

"How... can you?" Lorna, seeing Kara floating in mid-air, was taken aback. She hadn't used the chicken talisman's power to make Kara float; it took her a moment to realize this was Kara's own ability, as she thought superpowers only existed in her and her brother Pietro.

"Lorna! What are you doing?" Pietro, thinking it was Lorna's power, urgently looked at her for an explanation.

"It's not... me." Lorna looked bewildered at Pietro, then as if realizing something, she looked up at Kara and said, "No, this is your own ability! You can fly, you have superpowers!"

"Why do you look so surprised? Didn't you just cheat using superpowers?" Kara teased Lorna.

"No! It's not me cheating, it's you!" Lorna quickly figured out some things, angrily staring at Kara floating in the air, "I was wondering why you were so tough to deal with, why you were so strong. It turns out you have superpowers. You're the cheater!"

"Don't accuse me wrongly; I've never used external forces in our duels like you did..." Kara spread her hands, indicating she had always relied on her own abilities and never cheated.

"Hmm?" Just as Lorna was about to argue further, Robert suddenly sensed a familiar presence - the aura of the Shadow Ninjas. He looked around at everyone and said, "If you don't want to expose your powers in school, it's best we head somewhere more secluded. Enemies are coming, targeting the talismans you two possess."

"What?!" Pietro and Lorna exclaimed in unison, surprised that their superpower secret was known so quickly, and that enemies were already targeting them, despite thinking they had hidden it well.

"Who is it?" Pietro instinctively trusted Robert, as he couldn't think of any reason for Robert to lie, so he looked at Robert worriedly.

"A bunch of unkillable foes," Robert shrugged.

Robert was somewhat exasperated with the relentless Shadow Ninjas. Although they hadn't made an appearance for a while, their persistent attacks were enough to give many people a headache.

"Enemies, huh?" Peter Parker, eager for a real fight since gaining his spider powers, looked at Robert.

If Peter had met Robert right after regaining his memories, they could have sparred and trained together. But now, Peter's strength was far less than Robert's; even if Robert held back, Peter would struggle to win, let alone enjoy the thrill of battle.

Soon, under Robert's lead, the group avoided the crowd and left the school for a remote area.

But before they could reach their destination, the Shadow Ninjas jumped out, targeting Pietro and Lorna directly.

These Shadow Ninjas were sent by the Holy Master, who had remained inactive since the talismans appeared because he hadn't found a way to deal with Robert.

However, as more talismans began to disappear, the Holy Master grew impatient, especially with two talismans appearing together this time. If he didn't act now, only the dog talisman, which had never been sensed by the Holy Master, would remain...

In other words, this was almost the Holy Master's last chance!

"Danger!" Peter Parker reacted fastest, urgently warning his companions.

"What are these things?" Pietro and Lorna exclaimed in unison, facing the Shadow Ninjas who seemed completely inhuman, emerging from the ground.

"Just remember they're the enemy. But you don't need to be too scared. After all, you both have superpowers, so dealing with them shouldn't be too difficult," Robert shrugged, "We'll fight them off as we leave. The Shadow Ninjas are just a nuisance, but fighting here might attract more trouble... Hmm?"
