The moon still hangs and illuminates the surroundings from its box called the sky, while its silver light gives a bit of warmth and comfort in this deep forest.
Moving forward through the trees in a swift and erratic manner, a young black-haired girl dressed as a schoolgirl, takes loud steps towards an unknown direction or perhaps her steps simply have no definite direction.
"Inuyasha you idiot, idiot, idiot!. Doesn't he understand it's because I care about him?"
Stopping her movements in the middle of the forest, the young woman begins to repeatedly tap the ground with the soles of her shoes, as she begins to speak loudly into the air.
"But... It's quite... Quite cute when it gets jealo."
"Just saying Kagome, but I'm here too."
Hearing the voice coming from behind her, Kagome mechanically turns her neck and after her eyes get used to the darkness, it can be seen that the one speaking is another young man.
"You, you... I'm not falling for this one, what are you doing here Asahiko?"
Controlling her breathing that had become slightly agitated, Kagome quickly realizes Asahiko's intentions and tries to stop them.
"Tsk, I was expecting a more interesting reaction. Kagome, am I cute when I act jealous?".
A small distortion happens in Asahiko's body and when it clears, there is no longer the blonde-haired young man dressed as Onmyōji, but another one with long white hair in red clothes.
"Inu. Asahiko!"
"Ouch. What's wrong with you, are you a savage? You just threw me a stone!"
"Serves you right for not knowing how to behave!"
Seeing that Kagome seems to have grabbed another stone, Asahiko raises both hands in a universal sign of surrender, though when he notices that Kagome has let go of the stone, he transforms again and this time it is...
"I understand Kagome, you didn't want to see Inuyasha at that moment. Well no one wants to see that rabid animal, I'm much better. right Kagome?"
"Asahiko."
"Oh wait, are you really mad?"
Noticing Kagome's voice without any ups and downs, Asahiko's transformation unravels and he stands in front of her in his correct form.
"No."
"Come on Kagome, it was a little joke."
"No."
"Okay, okay, I'm sorry... Please."
With Kagome refusing to accept the apology, Asahiko uses the age-old tactic of the Japanese, a small bow, rather lax but existent. A chuckle spreads around, causing Asahiko to raise his head and seeing Kagome laughing something seems to click in his mind.
"What a vindictive person."
"Hahaha, I just paid you back for what you did to me."
"Tsk, whatever. Let's go back now."
"Sure Asahiko."
As one starts walking with slumped shoulders and an aura of defeat around him, the younger of the two lingers for the entire trip with a smile on her face.
Christopher/Asahiko pov.
We had been moving all night, at least me, Miroku and Inuyasha, since Kagome, Sango and Shippo are sleeping on Kirara in her big big form.
"So this is the village where Kikyo lived?"
"That's right Asahiko, the same one you burned the whole forest to."
Ignoring the words of Miroku who pointed in a particular direction, I took a closer look towards the village, enjoying that we were on a small hill.
It was quite a large village, there are at least thirty different houses, large expanses of plantations that give a beautiful green color to the place and most interesting of all is the beautiful temple that sits on a hill.
"We can go on, it's almost dawn."
"Since when do you care about the time Inuyasha... Ha, it's because of Kagome. Your clothes look very warm though."".
"Ha, let 's go."
Chuckling quietly between Miroku and I at the embarrassment shown by Inuyasha pointing out the obvious, we calmed down in a few moments and began to follow him towards the village down there.
It took us a few minutes to reach the village, long enough for the sky to begin to take on orange hues and for the birds to come out of their nests to sing in the open air. The adults in the village were already in full swing, some fetching water from the nearby river, others seem to be going into the forest to fetch firewood and one or the other keeping an eye on the harvest from above.
"So do you guys have a base of operations of your own or something?"
"Not at all, we're heading towards Kaede's, Kikyo's sister's house."
Looking at Inuyasha and then Miroku, I could only let go of the first thing that came to my mind.
"Wow, how sad."
"You sleep in the forest!"
"Of course I do... Next to Kikyo~"
Inuyasha was already ready to jump down my throat, but seeing his movements, I quickly pointed out to him the people in the surroundings and also the ones sleeping on Kirara.
"Asahiko, that was a low blow."
"But effective."
"It certainly was."
Finishing with the furious Inuyasha, we walk up to the temple stairs and just at the start of the stairs to go up, a rather plain wooden house can be seen standing there.
*knock* *knock* *knock*
"Lady Kaede. You are awake."
*knock* *knock* *knock*
"I'm coming. I'm coming. I'm coming."
A voice that you can easily recognize the passage of age in, can be heard from inside the house and in a few seconds the wooden door opens from side to side.
Who stands behind the door is a slightly obese old woman dressed as a priestess, she has an eye patch and her face seems to show that this is not the first time Inuyasha's group has come here.
Her long hair is pale in color, a sign of the years that have passed on her, as after acknowledging the group with a quick glance, she sets her bow down to the side of the door.
"It's you guys. Come in and let them rest inside."
"Thank you old lady."
"You were going so well with the thank you, but you had to ruin it with the old lady thing... Tsk, Tsk. What can you expect from you Inuyasha."
Scoffing at Inuyasha who starts to rage back there, I easily slipped through the door opening left by the old woman and took a seat next to the brazier inside.
It was disappointing her reaction, i'm not talking about the expression on her face or anything like that, but that she hadn't realized she was a demon until I proved it. Is she really Kikyo's sister? She's extremely weak, not much different from a normal human... I guess genetics didn't play in Kikyo's case.
"Are you comfortable?"
"Comfortable enough, but now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to get some sleep before the girl gets the urge to leave."
Pointing towards Kagome and letting the older woman know that she wants to leave, he managed to get her attention to focus on Inuyasha and ask her what has happened between them.
"Inuyasha... Again?"
"I'm not talking about it!"
"Jealousy over Kagome consumed him and he acted like an idiot."
"Shut up Miroku!"
Using her words as background, I quickly disconnected my conscience and left my protection to my ever-reliable tails.
