It was a place as dark as a wolf's mouth, gloomy as a cemetery and quite humid. The little light that exists in these underground dungeons is barely enough to see more than a few meters for the average human.
Among the multiple pressures that are found side by side, like any other dungeon, one is certainly special... It is almost illogically special indeed. This prison is well lit, dry and quite lively with the two people inside talking quietly.
"Can we leave?"
"No, you have had your reasons for letting us be captured and I have respected that. So now respect my time for... Dinner or lunch?"
Responding with a negative to the words of the dark-haired, fair-skinned, brown-eyed priestess, who is seated in a rather elegant zabuton for this situation. The blonde-haired young man in Onmyōji attire devours a good portion of food at a mind-boggling speed before wagging his index finger sideways with a no, no.
Christopher/Asahiko pov.
"It is better for us to disappear from their dungeon, than to escape through direct combat. In the first situation we will only create problems for this lord and in the second for all of them."
Finishing eating the last of my food in the bowl and wiping my lips with the napkin. Listened intently to Kikyo who explained her whole train of thoughts while handing all the dishes to one of the guards.
""Kikyo... the truth is I just wanted to eat something of quality, you know, all the food lately has been solely travel rations. But now you've told me why you made your decisions and it makes me feel like you took my earlier words as retaliation for this capture thing... Ahh how dizzy!"
Putting on a rather uncomfortable expression and it wasn't feigned because of this strange situation, I explained to him why my actions. Even going so far as to grab my hair at the end because of all this trouble.
"Just... let 's go."
Looking at me surprised as if she didn't expect that reaction from me, Kikyo shakes her head before she starts to get up from the zabuton and as she reaches the dungeon door she stops before she starts to speak for us to leave.
"Gladly."
Some time later...
Leaving the castle was like a walk in the park, enchanted here, illusion there and Boom, when we wanted to remember we were outside the mansion grounds. But our adventure did not end there today, as that mountain was our next target to travel to.
The trip to the mountain was fast despite the loss of our faithful horses, all this thanks to the fact that the mountain is located in the vicinity of the mansion and that with my physique traveling much faster than a horse is no problem and even seems easy to me. With the aforementioned added to Kikyo's faster-than-human travel speed, in an hour we arrived at her rocky base full of miasma lethal to ordinary humans.
"I didn't know either, but this is not important. What is important now is how many fragments you can feel near the top."
Disregarding the gaze of Kikyo who analyzes every few seconds my tails glowing with dots of different orange colors, like stars in the sky, I redirect the conversion to another side... It's just that I don't know what's going on here either! I just thought of burning the damn miasma and my tails started to burn in different points at the same time flowing as if the wind was moving them... Strange, but it works and it's not like I'm going to give it so many twists either, they have always worked in automatic mode these beauties.
"I can feel how your energy flows completely differently at each point, almost like they are controlled by different people. Now, on the other subject, I can feel a few fragments, but they are too close together to say in detail."
Perhaps realizing that even I don't know what's going on with my tails, Kikyo gives a rudimentary explanation from her point of view and with her abilities it's an opinion to be taken into account. Although he ends that discussion before he starts talking about the fragments on top of the mountain and from his words it is clear that the fragments are in someone's hands.
Having finished talking to each other, we quickly set off towards the top of the mountain. It was awkward at first to be honest, but thanks to my tails, all the miasma in the vicinity is forcibly pushed away.
"Kikyo..."
"Kagome..."
Reaching up to the top of the uneven path and letting the seven tails flow gently as if the wind is moving them. Every miasma in the vicinity of us is forcibly pushed away until we meet the schoolgirl, the tanuki, a girl in a kimono and a cat with two tails.
The situation for a few moments was quite tense between the two groups and the explosions coming from inside the cave did not help much to lighten the mood. So I simply follow the current that these two girls have already created, making the atmosphere freeze.
"Shippo..."
"Kagome is looking at me weird!"
I wanted to throw myself on the ground before I started rolling on his poor choice of words, come on, he just couldn't pick something better to say and coupled with the two looks coming from the girls, I basically self-murdered.
"Stop it, I get it, it was wrong. Just stop stabbing me with the look that's starting to hurt."
Putting my hands up and tails up to give the whole thing more drama, I let out a completely defeated voice before throwing an apologetic look towards the opposing group. This apology removed all the tension in the atmosphere causing them to even start breathing much better, doesn't that seem to me to be due to the dispersal of the miasma.
"Inuyasha is there...never mind, let's go inside."
Cutting off this whole comical scene by opening her lips, Kikyo looks towards the entrance with complicated eyes before starting to slowly move forward. I follow behind her until I stop halfway, remembering the whole plan we have with Saya and a little positive preference with her group would be quite nice.
"Considering I need Inuyasha later, it's not the best plan of action to leave the two of you lying here... Well you heard me, are you coming with us?"
Speaking loudly without any trickery to hide, I lift my lips to adorn my face with a smile and in passing I once again make my tails flow freely, becoming more pleasing to her eyes. Impression is of the utmost importance!
