Chapter 21 - Ch. 21 – Purchasing Evolution Materials

Yves nodded, complying with Crystal's request. He quickly opened his holographic interface, fingers moving across the screen as he navigated to the payment section. Within seconds, Yves generated his QR code.

With a nod, Yves presented the QR code to Crystal, holding it out for her to scan. "Here you go. Feel free to scan it whenever you're ready."

Leaning forward, Crystal's gaze locked onto the QR code suspended in front of her. The holographic display cast a soft radiance, shimmering in her eyes as she positioned her interface to capture the QR code. Delicately, she aligned her device, ensuring a flawless scan.

As the scanner detected the QR code, Crystal's interface instantly recognized the payment details encoded within. A moment later, a confirmation message appeared on her screen, indicating that the payment had been successfully completed.

"Thank you, Mr. Crow." Crystal said graciously, a beautiful smile framing her lips as she acknowledged Yves. "The payment has been successfully transferred."

Yves returned her smile with a nod of acknowledgment. "Thanks. I'm glad everything went smoothly."

Continuing her explanation, Crystal motioned toward her holographic interface. "Now, you'll be presented with a screen where you can pick the preferred time for the virtual market team to collect the materials from your place. It's a convenient feature that ensures a hassle-free process for both parties."

Yves nodded, understanding the process. "Got it. Let me take a look." he replied, directing his attention to the holographic screen in front of him.

Reviewing the options on the screen, Yves deliberated over his schedule and when he would be free. After a few selections, he settled on a time slot that would make the pickup process straightforward.

A new window popped up on Yves' holographic interface, verifying his chosen pickup time. With a nod of approval, he confirmed his selection, securing the arrangements.

"Done." Yves announced, glancing up from his interface to meet Crystal's violet eyes.

Crystal's smile widened at the confirmation. "Perfect."

"Is there anything else I can assist you with today, Mr. Crow?" she asked.

Yves paused, considering her offer. "Actually, yes." he replied thoughtfully. "I'm currently in need of a few ingredients for my pet monster." continue this where he said the required materials for the Blueberry Blood Shrub evolution.

"Your pet monster? What kind of ingredients are you looking for?"

"I need 10 Drops of Standard Nectar of Vitality, 1 Lesser Plant Crystal, 1 Lesser Mana Crystal, and 5 Standard Thorny Bloodvine Strands," Yves explained, listing off the required materials for the Blueberry Blood Shrub evolution.

Crystal absorbed the details, her brow furrowing in concentration. "I see. Let me quickly check our inventory to see if we have these items in stock."

"Sure, take your time," Yves replied, his eyes following Crystal's movements as she turned back to her holographic interface to check the inventory.

Finally, after what seemed like ages, Crystal's face brightened, indicating that she had found what she was looking for. Her brow furrowed slightly in concentration as she studied the screen.

Finally, she looked up from the interface, her eyes meeting Yves's expectant look. "Good news, Mr. Crow." she said with a smile. "We have all the ingredients you need in stock."

"The Standard Nectar of Vitality is priced at $50 per drop," she informed. listing the prices for each item. "the Lesser Plant Crystal is $1000, while the Lesser Mana Crystal remains the same at $500. Lastly, the Standard Thorny Bloodvine Strands are $100 each."

Yves bopped his head along as Crystal spoke, mentally calculating the total cost of the materials. He appreciated her transparency and efficiency in providing him with the necessary information.

After finishing the breakdown of costs, Crystal proposed, "For everything on your list, it amounts to $2500. However, if you decide to purchase them as a bundle, I can slash 10% off the total."

"That sounds like a fair deal to me." Yves replied, already planning to take advantage of the discount. "I'll take all of them."

Crystal smiled, pleased with his decision. "Excellent choice, Mr. Crow. Let me finalize the transaction for you."

She quickly inputted the quantities into her system and calculated the discounted price. After a few moments, she presented the total to Yves. "With the 10% discount applied, the total comes to $2250."

"Sounds good." Yves responded, swiftly activating his holographic interface to scan Crystal's generated QR code. With a flash, he kickstarted the transaction, and in mere moments, the payment went through.

Crystal smiled as she confirmed the completed transaction on her end. "Thank you, Mr. Crow. The payment has been successfully processed. Your ingredients will be ready for pickup shortly."

With the transaction completed, Yves bid Crystal farewell. "I'll see you next time." he said, nodding respectfully as he headed towards the exit.

Crystal waved goodbye, her smile warm and genuine. "Take care, Mr. Crow. And don't hesitate to visit us again if you need anything."

Stepping out from Mystica's Shop, Yves was brimming with purpose. The fruitful deal with Crystal had left him fulfilled, but his sights were already set on the next objective – finding a creature that has a unique or rare evolution path at the pet monster exchange post.

Yves triggered the teleportation process, a surge of excitement tingling in his veins. The familiar sensation of being transported through virtual space enveloped him, and before he knew it, he had arrived at his destination.

"This is it." he muttered to himself, surveying the bustling area. "With the remaining time on my VR rental, I'm going to make the most of every second spent right in this spot."

"It won't be easy to find the right monster." he thought, knowing it would take time. "But searching for it is really important."

What Yves wanted was a pet monster that could complement Taro's abilities and enhance their efficiency in hunting. However, he remained open to exploring other options that might present themselves along the way. With his current mana pool, Yves knew he could form contracts with up to two monsters, providing him with flexibility in his choices.

Despite having the option to form a contract with Blue, the Blueberry Blood Shrub, Yves had yet to finalize his decision. At this moment, his focus was on finding a companion for Taro, one that could stand alongside him in battle and contribute to their shared goals.

With a strong resolve, Yves delved into his exploration of the stalls, meticulously examining every creature kept within the glass enclosures. His concentration stayed fixed as he carefully analyzed their paths of evolution and potential grades.

An hour slipped by, but Yves had not yet encountered a creature that met his exact standards. However, he refused to be discouraged. Opening his holographic interface, he checked the remaining time on his VR rental—only 30 minutes left. Feeling the pressure mounting, Yves redoubled his efforts.

Regardless of the seconds ticking by, Yves remained dedicated to his search Then, just as he was beginning to consider the possibility of extending his time or returning to another date, his sharp eyes landed on a creature that captured his interest.

Inside one of the enclosures, Yves noticed a slime. It appeared to be a typical slime, nothing out of the ordinary in terms of its appearance. The slime was translucent, with a light blue hue that reminded him of a cloudless sky. Its surface glistened faintly under the light, giving it a serene and ethereal quality.

The slime's body was smooth and uniform, with no distinguishable features other than its color and transparency. It moved slowly within the enclosure, its gelatinous form undulating gently as it shifted from one spot to another.

Observing the slime closely, Yves couldn't help but feel drawn to it, though it wasn't its appearance that seized his attention. Instead, it was what he had learned about its unique evolution path that intrigued him the most.
