Chapter 29 - Nightborn Forest (6)

Asura's pained groan brought him back to reality. Zenyph looked back at the girls who sat on the ground staring up at him in shock.

He glanced at his own appearance before turning his attention towards Asura. His eyes narrowed dangerously as rage seethed inside of him. He clenched his jaw tightly, grinding his teeth together. His anger stemmed from his instinct to protect what is his. Alice and Asura are his and his alone. Any threat towards them has to be eliminated immediately.

The two were stunned speechless at the display of power shown by Zenyph. It wasn't easy to kill nameless creatures. Even those who use shadow magic will leave behind a body after death. The fact that Zenyph destroyed the corpse completely was testament to his strength.

As more of Asura's blood dropped on the frozen dirt, Zenyph's mind raced to come up with a solution to save her life.

The injury was severe enough that without immediate medical attention she would probably bleed out in minutes. However Zenyph wasn't confident enough to heal her since he only knew basic water healing. If she were to die because of him he would never forgive himself.

A memory popped up in his mind from when he first reincarnated. The time where he first used the bathtub. When using his water magic completely drained his reserves and filled the tub. That had to have been chaos right? Was there any way he could use that?

He tried focusing on the fight between the goddess and Luciana and suddenly found himself looking through the goddess' eyes.

------

The goddess was in the same white room as his dream and she was holding a notebook.

"Chaos magic demonstration: Number 158th, Basic Chaotic Water Healing, succeeding Number 157th Basic Chaotic Blood Healing." said the Goddess out loud as she wrote in her notebook.

"Zeny Zeny I doubt you'll ever see all of these demonstrations but maybe if you ever get good enough you can see me write my notes in person!" Said the woman in excitement with a bubbly voice.

The goddess focused on healing water magic and a ball of water formed in her hands.

"So for this kind of healing it's basically the same as any other water magic... just with the help of a chaotic boost. Think chaotic water is equal to chaotic fire plus holy water..." said the woman as she poked the ball of water with her finger.

"Uh so just picture how you'd heal someone using regular water magic but use chaos mana and add a drop or two of blood magic. The blood magic can only be used if your opponent is bleeding." finished the woman as the water healed a broken bone of her foot.

-------

The vision ended and Zenyph smiled to himself. That goddess was something else. He willed his chaos magic and concentrated on the injured vampire in front of him.

Blood magic and chaos magic surged out from his hand. The blood magic manipulated her blood into clotting and scabbing her wound while the chaotic mana sped up the process.

Asura gasped when her body automatically reacted to his magic and repaired herself. Her eyes widened in surprise. It was impossible to cure fatal injuries within seconds unless the healer was at purple rank or above. She could tell Zenyph's magic was powerful but she hadn't expected it to be this potent.

The vampire princess' eyes roamed over her savior's handsome features.

Zenyph smirked amusedly at Asura's reaction before saying sarcastically, "Wow you must be really thirsty. You've been ogling my body for so long now. Does it turn you on Asura? Do I turn you on?"

Asura's cheeks turned red and she looked away from him bashfully. "No comment."

Zenyph chuckled amusedly. "That's fine. As long as you keep yourself under control I won't tease you too much."

"Fuck you." retorted Asura annoyedly.

"Maybe later darling. Now let's get our things and get out of here." proposed Zenyph humorously.

Zenyph went to grab the rings lying on the ground when his body fell face first into frozen dirt.

Mana exhaustion.

He cursed inwardly. Looks like chaos magic isn't compatible with his physique yet.

Alice hurried over and picked up the two items and slipped them back on their respective fingers. She knelt beside Zenyph and held him close to her bosom.

"Are you alright Zenyph?" asked Alice worriedly.

Zenyph rested his head comfortably on her chest enjoying the warmth radiating from her soft body.

"Yeah. I used too much mana is all." replied Zenyph reassuringly.

Alice rubbed the top of his head comfortingly.

"Asura did your mana replenish by any chance? If so, can you heal me? I'll carry Zenyph this time." pleaded Alice while using her puppy dog eyes.

"Strangely my mana is completely full but it is unstable. I should be able to heal you but I need a moment." replied Asura before walking away and sitting cross-legged on the ground.

"Alright it's just the two of us then. How are you holding up?" inquired the potion maker cheerily.

"Fine thanks." mumbled Zenyph lazily.

He looked up at Alice admiring her beauty.

He gazed at her perfect curves and beautiful golden hair that framed her face perfectly highlighting her lovely features. Her slender arms wrapped themselves around him pulling him closer to her body. Zenyph sighed contentedly, enjoying every second of contact with Alice. He inhaled her feminine scent, breathing deeply as she cradled his head in her arms. It felt comforting being pressed against someone's body after spending so much energy. It made him feel safe and secure. It eased his nerves and calmed him down. Alice radiated warmth that seemed to ease the ache in his joints. He couldn't remember the last time someone had taken care of him like this.

A pleasant warmth washed over his body easing the tension in his muscles. All his worries and fears dissipated from his mind replaced by peaceful tranquility. He felt relaxed and blissful. Everything else disappeared leaving only Zenyph and Alice.

Suddenly her voice whispered softly into his ear.

"Don't worry. I'll take care of you."

Those words spoken in her delicate tone were all he needed to hear before drifting off to sleep.
