After a few hours, Asura returned to the dorm room. As she walked through the living to her room she felt something was different. She glanced at her roommate's rooms and she tried to hear the heartbeats of her roommates. To her dismay, she only heard two thumps coming from Zenyph's room. She ignored her senses and knocked on Zenyph's door.
"Yes, what is it?" asked Zenyph as he opened his door in his boxers.
"Where are Alice and Audrey?" asked Asura as she pushed past Zenyph.
She searched the room thoroughly, trying to locate any trace of either girl. Yet there was nothing out of place. No sign that either girl had ever stayed in the room.
"What happened?" asked Asura as she stared straight into his Azure eyes. Her captivating golden eyes were burning with curiosity, demanding an answer.
Zenyph remained calm despite her aggressive manner. He had rehearsed his answers in case someone asked him questions concerning his deceased roommates. But as he saw those eyes looking at him, his resolve wavered. He could tell by her facial expression and the way that her heart rate increased, that she cared for her friends even if she didn't show it that much. And it made his heart sink. He didn't want to lie to her. But he knew she wouldn't forgive Lynette.
"Asura, I killed them."
Her heart stopped for a second as she felt confused by his words. She thought he was making some twisted joke but that feeling and thought quickly went away. Her face couldn't hide the pain she was feeling. She felt betrayed and sad. Asura looked at Lynette's stoic face and then back at Zenyph's blue eyes. She was disappointed in him, but most importantly herself. She felt like an idiot and felt sick. She looked down at the ground.
"I understand," She said.
Her voice cracked slightly as the reality set in. Her fairy tale broke. Tears rolled down her cheek. She didn't look at Lynette nor Zenyph.
Zenyph saw her tears and immediately hugged her tightly, her scent calming him slightly. He tried to console her, he wanted to tell her he loved her, he wanted her but he felt her pain through their soul bond. Something he forgot about.
"It hurts, everything hurts Zenyph." she cried out as she weakly hit his chest.
"Lynette give us the room. Asura and I have a lot to talk about," he told her as he stroked Asura's hair trying to soothe her.
Lynette complied without any argument and left the room, closing the door behind her. She stayed outside.
Zenyph just held Asura tightly, comforting her. The sobbing lasted for about an hour before it gradually ceased. Even then he didn't move, he wanted her to feel safe.
"Why did you lie to me?" she sniffed as she leaned closer to his neck, taking comfort in his smell.
"I had to." he replied simply as he continued stroking her hair.
"Did you feel good killing Audrey? I assume Lynette killed Alice." she asked bluntly with venom in her voice.
"No. I did it so I can protect Lynette," he answered as he kissed her forehead softly.
"Was that your reason for lying to me, so you can protect Lynette? So you chose her over me. Haha, I shouldn't be surprised," she said sarcastically as she shook her head slightly in disbelief.
"Yes, I did choose Lynette over you," he responded calmly, being honest with her.
"Fucking bitch," she muttered under her breath as she scowled angrily at him.
"Asura, Lynette and I will always be together, that's something I cannot change. My relationship with her is stronger than my relationship with you."
Asura flinched at his words. She couldn't believe he said that. She felt so weak, so helpless. It made her feel worthless. She let out a hollow laugh, tears rolling down her cheeks.
"Fuck you. I gave you half of my soul Zenyph." she choked out as she clenched her fist tightly.
"And yet you still couldn't trust me with the truth. I let you touch me, hold me. I shared things about me that no one else knew." she whispered bitterly, as she closed her eyes tightly.
"I've never lied to you Zenyph, and you have the nerve to fucking lie to my face," she yelled furiously, her voice shaking slightly.
"I'm not sorry Asura, tell me can you forgive Lynette? I highly doubt it. Because the fact of the matter is, the only reason you gave me half of your soul was to prevent Lynette from claiming me." Zenyph said as he caressed her cheeks lovingly.
Asura looked away in shame and embarrassment.
"You think I don't know how vampire rituals work? Now that we're bonded I can't ever bond with Lynette. And you could've easily used my blood without the ritual. It just would've hurt a shit ton more." he continued, staring directly into her beautiful golden orbs.
"I don't know," she mumbled dejectedly, feeling defeated. She sighed tiredly, she wanted to leave. She needed to clear her head. She just wanted to sleep in a comfortable bed. She wanted to cry, she wanted to scream, but instead, she just stared blankly into Zenyph's blue eyes.
"Do you hate me Zenyph? If so, tell me. Tell me you don't love me, tell me I'm not your princess. Say it to my fucking face so I can walk out of your life forever!" she begged him desperately, her voice wavering slightly.
Zenyph embraced her tightly, burying her face in the crook of his neck. His touch was gentle and affectionate. She whimpered softly at his touch, leaning closer to his chest, and placing her ear against his beating heart. The sound calmed her nerves.
"From the moment I met you, I was intrigued, mesmerized, fascinated, captivated. Every part of your existence had drawn me closer. Do I want you to be mine? Of course. Do I want to love and cherish you? Without a doubt. Would I want to live a happy, fulfilling, passionate life with you? Absolutely. Those are all things I want with you Asura." he confessed fervently as he cupped her cheeks and gazed lovingly at her, wiping away the stray tears on her soft skin.
"But I also love Lynette, and she loves me too. We'll never abandon each other and we'll never betray each other," he affirmed ardently as he placed a soft kiss on her lips tenderly, tasting her sweet lips once more.
"You really love her more than me." she cried out.
"We've yet to really date, or learn more about each other. There's so much more to learn about you Asura. So yes, right now she means more to me than you but that doesn't mean my feelings aren't growing for you every passing second." he whispered gently into her ear while caressing her hair gently.
She turned around and kissed him passionately, biting his lip gently and drawing blood. He tasted his blood in his mouth, he couldn't lie. His blood tasted incredible. Like candy. Asura deepened their kiss, invading his mouth with her tongue, tasting him completely.
"I thought you'd be upset, angry," Asura confessed.
"I'm not angry. I think it makes us even right? I lie and the punishment is an eternity with you. Sounds pretty fair to me," Zenyph quipped humorously.
"Idiot, that's not what I meant. I thought you'd break off our deal, and cancel our engagement."
Zenyph cupped her chin and brought her gaze back to his.
"If I canceled our arrangement, that would mean I could never taste these luscious lips of yours again. Could you ever imagine yourself without me by your side for eternity? You're stuck with me," He cooed tenderly as he nibbled playfully on her bottom lip.
She laughed happily as her spirits lifted significantly. He didn't find her obsessiveness weird, but rather endearing.
"Were you dropped as a child Zenyph? I practically chained you up and you're still smiling at me like an idiot." she jested cheerfully as she rolled her eyes in mock exasperation.
"We're both fucked up aren't we?" chuckled the dragon prince lightly, shaking his head wryly.
"Guess so," she mumbled sheepishly, her cheeks turning slightly rosy.
He wrapped his arms tightly around her waist, pulling her close to him. She rested her head on his chest, inhaling his intoxicating masculine musk.
"Asura, please forgive me," he pleaded gently as he rubbed circles around her back soothingly.
"I already did. That's why I'm still here." she retorted playfully as she ran her fingers through his silky silver hair tenderly.
"So does this mean you won't hurt Lynette? You two might never love each other, but at least let her exist peacefully in your presence." asked Zenyph earnestly hoping Asura would be amiable to Lynette.
"I don't like her, but I promise not to kill her." Asura assured confidently.
Zenyph nodded reluctantly. He definitely trusted that Lynette wouldn't kill anyone anymore but he was slightly worried Asura might do something. But for the time being, he'll just have to take a gamble. He doesn't think he can win against Asura without using Chaos. And that could jeopardize his life here and put both his and Asura's lives at risk.
"So are we doing it?" asked Asura with a mischievous glint in her golden eyes, breaking his train of thought.
"Nope. Not tonight. It has to be special right?" Zenyph replied firmly, standing his ground.
"Alright, but I'm sleeping with you. No exception. Lynette sleeps in her own room. We need quality bonding time." the purple-haired vampire girl declared possessively, refusing to accept anything but her demand being fulfilled.
"Alright." the dragon prince agreed immediately knowing he didn't stand a chance of arguing. Asura was looking at Zenyph like a mother who was forcing her child to say sorry.
Zenyph chuckled as he walked to the door, to tell Lynette to go to her room. Asura watched amused, satisfied by the turn of events.
The trio slept peacefully unaware of the consequences of their actions.
