Obadiah had the "basin" reactor designed by Daisy, so there was no need for Obadiah to plot against Stark. Things changed a bit at this stage.
Perhaps stimulated by the movie Saving Private Ryan, or maybe wanting to bid farewell to his past life, Stark took more initiative than in the original timeline.
With impressive hacking skills and Jarvis' capabilities, Tony Stark, without Pepper Potts' assistance this time, personally intervened. He lured Obadiah away and found a video on his computer showing the Ten Rings kidnap him, leading to a complete breakdown in their relationship.
Obadiah realized his unfavorable situation and promptly kidnapped Pepper Potts.
Although Coulson and his team tried to intervene, Obadiah had many henchmen and was in Stark Industries' territory. The S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, unfamiliar with the terrain, were caught in the explosion buried under the rubble.
These events took place before Daisy arrived.
"Now what?" she asked Coulson.
"Obadiah Stane is currently holding Miss Pots hostage and heading northeast. He not only wants to escape but also threatens to exchange her for Tony's Stark Industries shares," Coulson said with a heavy expression. After the failure of Daisy and Victoria Hand's missions, he felt like he was going to be next in the line.
A simple observation and talking task has become like this now and he doesn't know what to do anymore.
"Difficulties? Call the Director!" Daisy suggested, providing him with an idea. With limited options, Coulson made a call to report the situation.
Obadiah is an idiot! Looking at the pitch-black night, Daisy couldn't help but curse silently. Why leave that video of the Ten Rings on the computer? Isn't that insane?
Shouldn't it be a routine to just watch and delete videos after you do business? Keeping it on the computer for self-enjoyment when he has nothing to do, Obadiah is just asking for trouble.
Daisy was worried about the impact on her supercomputing installation work. However, since the conflict had already begun, she had no ability to go back in time and could only think about the subsequent developments.
"The Director suggests observation without direct involvement," Coulson informed her after the call, and then asked somewhat curiously, "The Director said you can help me with a closer observation."
With more people now aware of her abilities and her increased strength, the fear and suspicion of being exposed had significantly diminished. Daisy nodded, indicating her agreement.
She then teleported with Coulson directly to the scene. Both appeared on the rooftop of a company building.
"This ability is really amazing!" Coulson was happy. Though the teleportation experience wasn't pleasant, feeling like he had been bounced around, seeing Obadiah and Tony Stark chasing each other not far away made it all worthwhile.
Because the scene was too intense.
"That big guy is Obadiah?" Daisy pointed not far away, surprised by the towering robot, standing at three meters tall and appearing to weigh tons. Wasn't the Iron Monger in the movies smaller than this?
"According to the data found at Stark Industries, this is the latest generation of the Iron Tyrant armor," Coulson casually replied while carefully assessing the strengths of the two sides in the confrontation.
Daisy had a question mark on her forehead; what the fuck is the Iron Tyrant?
Her vision was much sharper than Coulson's, and upon closer observation, she noticed many discrepancies compared to her memories.
For now, she decided not to dwell on the weird name of the Iron Tyrant and acknowledged that it did seem significantly more powerful than the Iron Monger.
The transmission parts of the Iron Monger were exposed, with a rough exterior and no aesthetic appeal, similar to Tony Stark's Mark I in the cave but upgraded.
The development path of this Iron Tyrant followed in the footsteps of Mark I and Iron Monger, but it took a significant step towards a tall and more powerful direction.
The previously exposed drive shafts were wrapped in heavy armor and placed on the front chest, for fear that others won't know that this is the weak point of the reactor was now moved to the back.
In contrast to the original Iron Monger, equipped with a Gatling gun that couldn't hit a target even after five minutes of firing, the Iron Tyrant had an extremely powerful firepower.
The original Gatling gun was abandoned, and missiles continuously launched from both arms and shoulders. The battlefield resembled a farewell performance of Stark missiles, featuring various missiles, rocket launchers, laser-guided missiles, and a large number of incendiary and shock grenades.
When Daisy and Coulson arrived at the scene, Obadiah's Iron Tyrant had just used the impact beams on the palms to send Iron Man flying.
The Iron Tyrant's strengths lay in its formidable firepower and thick armor. Observing its development, it seemed to have a glimpse of a future war machine. However, its speed was a significant drawback.
Unlike Iron Man, who could move freely and rescue people while fighting monsters, the Iron Tyrant had poor maneuverability.
According to Daisy's calculations, Stark's reactor could achieve flight with just 2.5% of its power, with increasing energy output resulting in higher speeds. However, the Iron Tyrant's reactor, already inferior to Stark's, coupled with its heavy armor and significant air resistance, required at least 10% power for any decent flight, making it inherently slower than Iron Man.
"Should we go help?" Daisy asked Coulson, watching the intense battle. If she were to assist, she'd need to go back and change clothes... The narrow skirt and high heels weren't suitable for combat— at least she couldn't pull it off.
As it turned out, agents didn't care much about the life and death of ordinary people. When he was later made the Director in the future, in an attempt to gain public favor, Coulson acted like a saint every day, careful not to harm even ants when walking.
However, now he was just an ordinary agent, and there is no need to worry about life and deaths of a few civilians.
And looking at Daisy's current attire, if she didn't go, his attempt to charge in would be futile. His pistol was still buried in the previous rubble; he couldn't just pick up a brick to help, right?
"The Director's order is to observe; let's continue watching," he said.
"Okay," Daisy agreed readily.
They chose to remain spectators as the battle below intensified.
Obadiah, having controlled Stark Industries for many years and backed by the military-industrial complex, had a vast network and financial resources. Hiring numerous top mercenaries to carry out his plans, he had an advantage.
In the movies, a few mercenaries could easily subdue the Ten Rings, proving that, despite having common faces, their combat abilities were at the peak of ordinary people.
However, despite their excellent marksmanship and well-equipped weapons, facing the persistently pursuing Iron Man, they couldn't achieve much.
The mercenaries hid in a truck, shooting behind them while fleeing. Stark, concerned about Pepper's safety, hesitated to attack the truck, and many high firepower weapons couldn't be used.
He had to rescue the hostage, save bystanders, and deal with the Iron Tyrant's pursuit, making him extremely busy.
