Daisy, regardless of whether there was the Old Yashida inside the armor, debts have owners, leave the Silver Samurai to Wolverine to deal with.
The White Tiger talisman boosted her tracking skills to the maximum level. She killed two who tried to hinder her pursuit on the way, and like pulling tendons, swiftly dealt with the red-clad ninja with throwing knives. Following the blood trail, she chased out of the castle and finally saw Madame Gao's figure in the distant woods.
The cries of killing in the castle seemed to be thrown behind, and the deep mountains were somewhat silent in the night. Moonlight spilled through the trees, and occasional rustling sounds came from the treetops, both moving fast. The forest animals seemed to protest with a few cries but were quickly driven away by the aura of the two.
"Madame Gao, only the two of us are left! Let's fight to the death!" Daisy activated the White Tiger talisman with all her strength, moving faster than Madame Gao in the forest; catching up was only a matter of time.
Madame Gao continued to run as if she hadn't heard, focused on escaping.
When the two sides got closer, the warning in Daisy's mind sounded again. She cursed the old bitch silently, and swiftly sidestepped two steps, avoiding Lady Gao's counterattack.
A long-prepared move missed, and Daisy saw an opening. She threw a dagger at Madame Gao.
She hadn't learned much about Hawkeye's archery, but Daisy was skilled and had practiced with daggers. This one was Viper's weapon, made entirely of Edman alloy, with a serrated blade coated with a potent poison.
Now severely injured, Madame Gao was in poor condition. She had little energy left, and her lone eye was covered in blood, making her vision blurry. Hearing the whooshing sound, she thought it was another shockwave and instinctively used her hand to block.
As the dagger touched her palm, Madame Gao knew something was wrong.
She screamed in agony; her right hand was cut in half. Along with the intense pain, a highly corrosive toxin began corroding her already battered body.
Madame Gao's steps became chaotic. She barely managed to run a few more steps, blood flowing backward. Her body could no longer endure, and with a pitiful scream, she fell on her back in the woods.
"You old hag, did you ever think you'd end up like this!" Daisy said, cutting off Madam Gao's other hand.
Daisy was overjoyed at this moment. Because of this old hag, she couldn't eat or sleep well. Now, finally, the tables had turned. What if the old hag had practiced martial arts for four hundred years? How cunning and wise she might be? In the end, she was just like an old dog, lying on the ground howling! How much nobler was she compared to those she had killed?
Looking at this enemy who had troubled her for over a year, the malicious old woman who had treated her like an ant when they first met.
"Spare me... I promise I won't bother you anymore..." Madame Gao's breath was weak, her voice hoarse, begging.
"Spare you? What about those people who had their eyes gouged out because of your whim? Why didn't you spare them?" The more Daisy looked at the old woman, the more disgusting she felt. This person had lived too long; her mind was completely twisted. In her eyes, ordinary people were just pigs and dogs, lowly creatures, not worth mentioning.
The old woman continued to plead, but seeing no effect, she couldn't help playing her final card: "The Hand, if you kill me... The Hand won't let you go."
Daisy chuckled and aimed her gun at the old woman's head, "Talking as if The Hand would spare me. We are already mortal enemies; killing you or not makes no difference. Don't you understand that, old man? Let's get it over with!"
"Wait! I still have something to say! Viper is Hyd..." Unfortunately, she didn't finish her sentence before Daisy shot her directly.
The bullet left a bloody hole in her forehead. With no chi defense, Madame Gao became indistinguishable from an ordinary person. Her legs twitched a few times and eventually turned into a corpse.
"Hydra my foot... Trying to sow discord even in death?" Of course, Daisy knew exactly what she wanted to say. The old hag wanted to lure her to Hydra, leading her to her death. Daisy had calculated and anticipated this move; she knew what the old woman was up to.
Ignoring the bloody head, Daisy began searching Madame Gao's body.
As it turned out, the idea of villains carrying their martial arts knowledge written in a book with them was impossible. Madame Gao had no martial arts manuals or training manuals on her, and certainly no heavenly treasures or skill that could add eighty years of cultivation with just a swallow.
But Daisy's eyes were sharp. She discovered something strange searching for different frequencies.
Madame Gao wore a ring on her finger with a peculiar frequency, and Daisy, without hesitation, took it off.
The ring had an ancient style, seemingly carved from wood. The face of the ring was a dragon's head, with the dragon's body winding around, forming the entire ring. The craftsmanship was exquisite, the dragon vividly depicted, every muscle and whisker finely detailed, creating a captivating allure upon closer inspection.
On the back of the ring, there were two characters engraved in seal script: "Kunlun."
Kunlun Elder's ring? Drawing this conclusion wasn't difficult for Daisy. She was just curious why Madame Gao carried this ring with her.
If it was for nostalgia, she found it a bit far-fetched. If Madame Gao was so nostalgic, she wouldn't have run away in the first place.
The ring probably didn't have tracking functionality; otherwise, they, a group of unfortunate people, would have been wiped out by Kunlun experts long ago.
Could it be some kind of curse? Once worn, it couldn't be taken off?
Daisy experimented a few times using Madame Gao's corpse; she could easily remove it. There seemed to be no locking mechanism.
Instead of recklessly putting it on herself, Daisy, with a learning mindset, used shockwaves to sense the ring.
Kunlun was in a different dimension, entering Earth only once every ten years. She planned to study this unique frequency.
Before she could delve into her research, she noticed the ring seemed to be undergoing some sort of authentication process. Initially resistant to her, the ring sensed a familiar aura in her frequency, hesitated, and then fell silent.
Just as Daisy was about to unilaterally sever the connection, the ring captured a trace of her frequency characteristics and fell into silence again.
Daisy scratched her head; her mental plane had gained some extra information. The ring seemed to have established a connection with her, acknowledging her as the new owner.
After a thorough check of the reserved information, the ring had no enhancement functions, and there was no portable grandfather inside. It seemed to be a symbol of the Kunlun Elder. However, Daisy happily wore it on her finger.
As an Elder of the secretive society Kunlun, to have a defense against countless psychic people on Earth, the ring endowed the wearer with something akin to a mental shield. The unique energy on the ring could protect the wearer from mental manipulation.
Of course, everything had its limitations. The ring was an inanimate object, and people were living beings.
If facing someone like Professor X with his full power or the Cerebro, the ring probably wouldn't hold up. Still, it was much stronger than the mind-control-resistant patches provided by S.H.I.E.L.D. With Daisy's own psychic abilities, it could resist most telepathy effectively.
