The insect army is terrifying, and this is evident to all, but now cursing Nick Fury is of no use.
Black Widow, no matter how much she grumbles, has to complete the mission. She can't say that she was scared away by caterpillars; she can't afford to lose this face.
She first asked Daisy, "Are there any side paths or secret passages around? Their own people should have a way in and out."
Daisy studied her tablet and replied, "I didn't see any entrance or exit passages. If they are visitors, they have a helipad on the rooftop; if it's their own, they will use a pheromone to mark their path."
The three female agents couldn't help but feel disgusted at the large insects. It was as if frogs hopping on their feet without moving. It's just gross!
While combat is one aspect, once gunshots ring out, the enemy will surely be on guard, which is highly detrimental to the rescue mission.
"Prepare for battle. Let's split into two groups. One group will distract the guards, and the other will rush in to find the doctor." Hill's tactical class has always been top-notch; she can always offer the most appropriate suggestions at the right time. Black Widow, without a better plan, nodded in agreement.
It's still the same grouping as yesterday. Daisy, with her large-caliber weapons, was assigned the task of luring and eliminating the enemy. Hill, as the one proposing the plan, stood behind to help share the pressure. Black Widow, the strongest combatant, and Sharon who has some medical skills, charge in to rescue.
To prevent the venom of the large spider, Romanoff gave each of them a bottle of antidote, specially developed by S.H.I.E.L.D. It may not neutralize all poisons in the world, but it is no problem to save a life. They exchanged a cautious word with each other and entered their predetermined positions, waiting for the attack.
At this point, silent action is best, but facing insects described as gigantic, there's no easy way for them. They have to go in guns blazing.
Hill set up a few traps and then gestured to Daisy from a distance.
Bang!
The Rhino Revolver started to show its power, but unfortunately, the distance was too far, and luck was not on her side.
The shot, ready to be fired, didn't hit the large spider but instead grazed its compound eyes, flying off.
Daisy opened fire again, but this shot was blocked by the rapidly approaching wasp, the bullet breaking one of its limbs, slowing it down by twenty percent.
"Damn it!" No shots hit the target, which made her very annoyed. She carried twelve rounds of Magnum .357 bullets, mostly for show-off, not expecting to encounter this level of combat.
As their size increased, the intelligence of the insects seemed to have improved somewhat. They became aware of Daisy's threat, and the giant wasps, centipedes, and spiders were all disturbed, even the seemingly stupid-looking caterpillar was attracted.
Several large insects converged towards her simultaneously.
Without a second thought, Daisy sprinted away.
The centipede was the fastest pursuer, rapidly crawling on the ground with numerous segments. Its bright red shell looked sturdy, and trees along its path were knocked askew. The grass it passed through seemed to wither as if doused in sulfuric acid, emitting a faint smoke.
Daisy suddenly gave a burst of speed, jumping over a haystack.
The silly centipede, unaware of the trap, plunged down with a thud. Time was tight, and they didn't set up overly complex traps—just a shallow pit with two high-explosive grenades buried.
With a thunderous roar, the head and abdomen of the large centipede were simultaneously hit. Dark muscles rained down like a shower, accompanied by shell fragments and broken segments.
Despite the severe damage, the creature still had some mobility. Hill jumped out and fired several shots at close range into the centipede's head, finally killing the monster.
On the other side, Daisy faced frequent dangers in the open mountain valley. No matter how fast she ran, she couldn't match the speed of the wasps—they could fly!
After running over two hundred meters, she heard the increasingly close sound of wings flapping in her ears. Quickly rolling to the left, she narrowly avoided a stinger coming from behind.
"Asshole!" She no longer hid her abilities, mobilizing all her powers. She raised her hand, sending a shockwave towards the wasp's abdomen.
The two sides were extremely close, and the air was forcefully compressed. The slightly white, dim column of light seemed to break a mirror made of air. Reflected light created a sense of distortion.
The speed of the white light beam wasn't fast, but it compressed the surrounding air, causing a slight delay in the wasp's escape speed.
The wings that were originally fluttering rapidly slowed for a few beats, and this slight delay signaled its fate.
The invisible shockwave, like a giant hammer, directly smashed into the wasp's abdomen. The huge impact force shattered the wasp's already defenseless belly, and thick liquid flowed like a torrent, as if the lethal stinger, now hanging beneath its body by something resembling intestines, had become a deadly weapon.
Badly injured, the wasp plummeted to the ground. Daisy had no time to reload her gun because the most threatening spider was approaching.
Activating her ability with all her might in her left arm, she experienced a wave of pain. Without looking, she aimed her gun with her right hand and fired a shot behind her.
The large spider's reaction was extremely swift; almost as Daisy turned, its eight legs hit the ground, propelling it into the air.
The brown-black giant spider lunged at her. Daisy used her dynamic vision to the extreme, holding two guns and calmly firing two shots at its abdomen. When the distance between them was only one meter, she forcefully pushed off the ground with her feet, jumping to the side.
The large spider had its own set of predatory techniques. Almost immediately after it was hit, it sprayed a sticky and resilient web in her direction.
Suspended in mid-air and realizing she couldn't evade, Daisy had no choice but to throw away her guns. Clenching her right hand into a fist, she struck the air.
With a 'crack' sound, like the breaking of glass, the initial point shattered, and cracks spread outward. The air in a small area within her line of sight was shattered.
The spider web, deprived of the air as a support, turned into powder with a brittle sound.
This powerful strike, along with shattering the web, also broke two left-side segments of the spider.
Losing its balance and with a gunshot to the abdomen, the Magnum .357 caliber bullet had pierced through, spraying thick blood like rain in all directions. After crawling a few steps upon landing, the spider ultimately lost all mobility.
"That hurt..." Daisy sat on the ground, rubbing her arm, and cried to herself.
Although both attacks seemed to be full-force, the burden on the body was entirely different.
The shockwave is relatively gentler, relying mainly on penetrating power, while the final blow that shattered the air seemed powerful but was purely brute force without much technique.
Without a strong body, the resonance alone made her feel overwhelmed. It's best to use these flashy techniques sparingly in the future!
Massaging her muscles to alleviate the discomfort in her arm, Daisy picked up the rhino revolver after a minute, adding a final shot to the struggling large spider on the ground.
After reloading, she ran towards Hill on the other side.
