Chapter 6 - Leaving the Underground City!

============

Blowing away the stone skin felt like being reborn. She checked herself all over, and everything was intact—no visible incidents had occurred.

Daisy didn't care whether the filthy air here might give her pneumoconiosis. She touched her whole body and found that her facial features were all there, and her hands and feet were intact. The abnormalities that she had been vaguely worried about did not happen to her.

Maybe these defects were well-hidden? She comforted herself.

Relieved, comfortable, as if she had shed several pounds of burden. She clenched her fist, feeling the newfound strength. Not only was it stronger than her previous female body, but it surpassed even the male body from her past life.

Her physique remained slender, no different from before. However, there was a new vitality pulsating from the cells, boosting her speed, reflexes, and endurance significantly.

The method of exerting force, the technique, still seemed immature, but her physical fitness was no worse than those soldiers who had undergone rigorous training. All of this transformation took only ten minutes.

The Terrigen Crystal Mist had brought about a profound change, rejuvenating her from cells to organs, blood, lymph, bones—her entire body.

Physical enhancement was only a byproduct; the real key was the superpower. Daisy focused on understanding her own ability. The bloodline activation ritual went as she had estimated. The stone door didn't automatically open; maybe there was a switch somewhere outside. However, being alone now, she could only open a passage from the inside.

Reality wasn't a game; gaining a superpower didn't automatically add an icon, and pressing a key didn't trigger the power.

Superpowers offered possibilities, but the extent of their effectiveness depended on the individual.

In theory, anyone could perform in Olympic events, but how many could actually do it? Not many people can do it without training.

Abilities also required research, development, and training to become a unique skill.

Daisy carefully sensed the unfamiliar sensation in her body—her vibration ability. It wasn't an energy surge like chakra, nor residing in any specific dantian region, but just like the normal ability to run, jump, or walk. Now, she had an additional mode—she could make objects vibrate.

Following the marks, she found her entrance direction and reached out to touch the massive stone in front of her.

She didn't know if she could vibrate the half-meter-thick stone door enough to escape. If it was too weak, she couldn't get out; too strong, and Daisy feared she might collapse the entire underground city.

The first attempt failed with a "buzz"; the stone door remained unmoved; her vibration stopped before reaching it.

It wasn't a conscious decision to retract the ability, but more of subconsciousness at work.

Try again! She reached out and started the vibration once more.

Daisy struggled to recall her limited knowledge of physics. She remembered that every object had its vibration frequency, and once found, that frequency could be used to destroy the stone door.

Search, search, finally, she found the frequency of the stone door. She adjusted herself, achieving resonance.

Just after a couple of vibrations, she felt sore all over. This ability seemed a bit like a double-edged sword, harming both the enemy and herself. However, the perseverance in her character prevailed, she suppressed discomfort and worked hard to adjust the frequency.

"Crack, crack!" The sound of shattering echoed, and she hurriedly stopped.

The vibrational area was a bit large; the entire stone door was encompassed in the vibration range. Daisy couldn't guarantee if the door collapsing would trigger a chain reaction. In case the other five stone doors were affected, causing the temple to collapse, she could start preparing for the next reincarnation...

Staring at the cracks on the stone door, she studied it and found the most damaged spot. She initiated the third vibration.

This time, she narrowed down the vibration area. Although it increased the precision requirements, this reduced the strain on her body from the recoil.

Hold on, slower this time. Shrink the range, lighter touch. She kept encouraging herself.

"A thud" resonated, and the stone door shattered one-third. Daisy, disregarding the potential harm from the dust to her body, quickly rushed out.

Checking the marks on the ground, she swiftly ran back along the route where she came from.

The return journey lacked the illumination provided by the obelisk, leaving everything in pitch darkness. However, her enhanced senses allowed her to vaguely see some paths in the dark, and her hearing and sense of direction have been enhanced which ensured that she maintained a straight line while running.

Most women's sense of direction is generally weaker, but this drawback was now compensated. Although she didn't have the exaggerated sensory abilities of Daredevil, in this three-meter wide, two-meter high passage, it was more than enough.

Light and agile footsteps, powerful running—she felt like her entire body was filled with strength. Even without professional running training, Daisy believed her current speed could rival that of professional athletes.

Moreover, she possessed more endurance and explosive power than athletes.

To lighten the load and increase speed, she threw away any unnecessary supplies.

Daisy was afraid that the next second there would be a sound of the underground city collapsing, flooding, or some kind of self-destruct mechanism activating. It wasn't that she was scaring herself, but scenes like these appeared too often in movies. She didn't dare to stop for a moment, relying on ample stamina and a resilient character. The three-day journey she had walked earlier turned into a day of running, and she managed to retrace her steps back to the tower.

"Sure enough, movies really are deceiving..." she sat on the ground, breathing heavily.

The tower was still as dirty as before. She didn't linger, quickly tidied up her backpack, changed into summer clothes to make herself appear less conspicuous, and walked out slowly.

Back at the hotel, Daisy indulged in a hot shower, donned a bathrobe, and pinned up her hair. She looked at her reflection in the mirror.

Bright eyes with a hint of determination, a high and straight nose, and her skin seemed to have become a little more delicate. Considering that the skin of Europeans and Americans is generally not great, it seemed like her bloodline had pushed her a step closer to the appearance of an Asian.

At the same time, her legs had grown a bit longer… Previously, Daisy's height was 1.7 meters; now it seems to be around 1.72 or 1.73 meters.

Returning to the bedroom, she took out her laptop, searched local information, and found no negative news related to herself. There was only an internal communication from the San Juan Police Department about helping to find her missing parents.

Daisy lay on the bed and began to think about the future.

The profession of a hacker was immediately ruled out. The Daisy in the original timeline hadn't developed anything, and the golden age of hacking had passed. Relying on solo acts as a cyber thief was simply courting death, especially since hacking required not only technical skills but also a specific mindset. She was not her predecessor, she lacked that mindset, and attempting to mimic it wouldn't lead to a good outcome.

The ability to vibrate was the foundation of herself.

During her return journey, she ran and researched simultaneously. Adding the vibration ability to the soles of her feet allowed her to run with lively jumps, which might look a bit comical but significantly increased her speed.

Furthermore, as she continued to run, from being unfamiliar to becoming proficient, she gradually gained finer control over her supernatural ability.
