Dylan swung his hand. The hammer retracted back to as a small bead of gold on his gold armour gloves. There was no point attacking the man any more.
The man's hands had snapped into two. The broken bones poked out of his skin, leaving their eyes to feast on a mess of blood and flesh. Perhaps from pain, the man could not keep his second figure any longer. The other instantly disperse into blue dust and return into the pendant on his neck. The pendant was the source of the ability to double himself after all. Perhaps if Dylan had known this earlier he would have tried to destroy it at the initial start of their fight. Not that he would have succeeded.
The pendant was forged from the core of a monster this man had killed outside the Dome that had the ability to multiply itself. Wielding this technology had then become his greatest strength after all. What a pity that his years of victory with this weapons was broken by a hold wielding young man.
"Forfeit" The young man ordered in a calm voice. The man with the broken hand could not help but look at him with surprise. Only now did he seem to remember that this boy had been fighting with just one hand. He had broken one hand of the boy earlier on and since then the boy had not moved that hand away from his back. To think that even with his special ability he had been defeated with just one hand. It was humiliating and unacceptable still there was nothing he could do anymore.
"I forfeit" The man announced. The bell rang signifying the end of the battle.
Dylan won not flawlessly but gallantly. He had sustained the a huge injury but still he managed to win and inflict an even deeper injury on his opponent. It was his choice if he would also leave the battlefield and disqualify Himself or if he would stay and continue fighting more opponent.
The hidden truth was that a bunch of the Jaegers left were starting to hesitate. They had seen what the these children were capable of. Even if they did not lose their lives or might be able to defeat them, which they were not sure they could, they would sustain heavy injuries like this man and what would they stand to gain from on it?
The battle had already began. They had all agreed to the conquest so now they could not refuse, all they could do was either go fight and win or lose the battle by defeat or forfeit.
"Dylan exchange with Myra" Raaya commanded.
Dylan shook his head "let me have a few more rounds" Though one of his hands was broken he could still very much fight with the other one. Just one was enough to beat a couple more people.
Raaya refused "Switch now!"
She was well aware he would do just fine with just one hand, still he couldn't let him sustain more injuries than he already had. Herself and Myra were sufficient enough to win the rest of the people that were left to fight. So there was no need to overexert himself. By the way if they were to win this Conquest, they would have only three days to nurse their injuries. Too many injuries would need a longer time to heal and that could delay them.
"Move over stop hugging my spot" Myra commented too in a small voice.
Seeing the girl's excitement, he could only walk out of the ring and let her take over. What was he even concerned about? This girl was all hyped up, that means there was going to be a rampage. If she didn't wipe out the rest of the crowd then it would be just because no one wanted to fight her anymore.
What a great precision skill he had!
He had not only guessed it right but somehow had managed to accurately predict the future that would happen in about a few hours.
The sun had moved across the skies. Now the evening glow dyed the lands underneath it in a subtle mixture of blue and orange. Walking with the shifting shadows of dusk. The girl rambled into the ring with a confident air around her.
The petite body looking quite cute in her Kimono and long blonde pigtails. With no weapon in her hands save for the the metal gloves, she looked harmless and vulnerable. But no one underestimated her for that. The group had a trademark of not bringing in weapon rather materialising them for thin air or becoming the weapons themselves. A bunch of weirdos, everyone agreed on this truth. Yet those that had secretly hesitated in their heart found some bit of courage seeing this girl take over from the gold wielding youngster.
No matter how strong she was , she was just a petite sized girl, could she be anymore worst than her other friends?
Well they were about to find out.
Someone came up as her first opponent. A tall man walked into the ring. His face painted to look like the ace card. Even his clothes hard diagrams of the deck of cards drawn on it. The man was fimiliar for using special decks of cards forged from sharp crystals that could cut through even a mountain, as his weapons. He was one of the shadow ace group strong member. Not only were his weapons sharp but they moved faster than the wind. It was hard to avoid it. Everyone thought the girl was doomed for having him as her first opponent. There was no way she was going to avoid those things. Especially when he controlled them with his mind. The red crystal imbedded into his forehead enable him to do that.
"Hello Mr clown. Let's try our best shall we" The girl flashed an enthusiastic smile and said to him.
Clown?
Calling him a clown in front of everyone infuriated the man. Immediately the bell rang, a dozen card flew through the air at an unexpected speed aiming for the young girl. All they heard was the swoosh as the cards cut through the air to her direction. Yet they saw they girl move her body. She shifted to the side, jumped in the air, did a backflip, and crouched to the ground in swift movement then at last stood on her feet.
"Phew that was close" she sighed in relief looking at the thin slash on her arm. The cards had really been fast. If she didn't already know to avoid them on time, she would have sustained more than just a thin cut.
it was already surprising to see her standing with only a small cut after being attacked by this man's fast moving card. But it was even more surprising to see what she was holding in her hand. The girl held each of the cards thrown at her inbetween her fingers.
Even the man was shocked. Not only did she have the time to avoid them but she also had enough time to catch all of them. The most surprising part was that he was trying to call back his crystal cards but he couldn't. His mind was hazy and crowded like there was a hidden force blocking every kind of thought. He couldn't even form a solid thought talk more of calling the cards back.
The girl shook the cards in her hand "This looks fun. Should I try it too?" It was not a question cause in the next second she swung her shoulder and tossed a card towards him with all her strength. The card flew faster than it had done before. Slicing through the air in an unbelievable speed. The man couldn't even try to stop it. He jumped out of the way quickly. The card shot into the sand, totally disappearing into the ground. The man's heart chilled. If he had really been any second late then he might have lost a limb.
Is she crazy?
Didn't she hear that their opponent shouldn't lose a limb?. Perhaps she had expected him to jump out of the way. Indeed, Myra had only done this to calculate how fast he himself could move. How fast he could move would determine what speed she would use to attack him. As it stands, he wasn't fast at all. Perhaps relying on his card so much had let him not improve on himself.
"Enough gadgets. My hands are itching" She dumped the remaining cards on the floor and rushed towards him. Her speed was limited. It looked like she was only making a mad dash towards him.
once the man saw that he could control his cards again. He immediately controlled them to attack her from behind. The image of her getting sliced up by the cards flashed through everybodies minds. Yet in the next second the girl sped past the man. They had only seen a gust of wind and she was standing behind him.
The rolling cards stopped midway and fell to the ground. The man's eyes was left wide open, blood tickling down his forehead.
"What a disappointment. It's nothing useful" they heard the girl say. She raised her fingers and a red bead sized crystal appeared between her sharp long fingers that were covered in blood.
