Chapter 161 - The Power of Light

While Leon talks to the Olive guard, Rufus looked at Boris, recognizing him as the doctor who treated the snake bite.

"Ah, it's you. I wanted to thank you for healing me." Rufus says with a grateful tone, but he made it clear that he wants to know something more.

"Ah, yes." he answered.

"What did you treat me with?" Rufus says, trying to hide his eagerness for an answer.

"We all kept watch over you and remove the snake bite by diluting as much of your blood and replenishing it. It seems to have cleanse the toxins in your body thus has you feeling much better the following day." He answered nervously.

"Hm, is that so?" He says, disappointed but content with the answer.

As for Alabaster, he eavesdropped Leon. Leon was told that his retainers are all reunited and are in the Great Hall. As for Leon's part of the story, Rufus found him and rescued him while they detained most of their captors while the ability user was killed.

Dammit, Rana was killed. Alabaster was tasked to give the remaining worm to her due to Amaryllis's desire to have Rana as one of them, but he wasn't able to find her in the first place and ultimately failed now that she's dead.

"Alright, let's go to the Great Hall!" Leon yelled and everyone got up and head to the Great Hall where the brainwashed folks ran to them in a monstrous manner.

*

Viola started running on air as she used a barrage of spells to knock people off the rooftop. She could literally feel the adrenaline pumping through these people. How could they fight thousands of adults as students? There are also defenseless students taken into account as well. It is hard to know how long this is going on. The windows are blocked, and the Hall is dark and difficult to see.

She watched as the others fight them off as much as they could, but she is quite distracted because she is trying to remember something important.

*

Viola practiced her footwork and kept falling. Cursing herself, she quickly got up to try again.

"You're too impatient, Viola. Relax your limbs and let your magic flow naturally." Amy said while she is sitting on a bench, watching her

"Why do I need to learn this dance? This is more like something you are good at." Viola panted in frustration.

She got up to approach her sister with a bottle of water. "I have to be sure you would get stronger. This dance is a strengthening technique for our abilities."

Viola looked at her sister. "Is that why you know this technique? To make your purification power stronger?"

"Yes. There will come a time you will need it just as I will expect I will need it. You may have a strong ability but even you cannot purify an entire city without this dance. If you come across a plague for example, even your power is not enough to erase it in one go."

"What about people? The people are the ones that get sick. Isn't there a risk of erasing them too?"

"Yes, but we're trained and still learning about our powers. If you intend to erase the plague, then it can be erased without harming the patient or victims. All you need is practice and confidence in yourself."

*

Viola had no confidence at first when she learned this dance because she could unintentionally erase something that could be fatal or catastrophic. Amy is skilled in pinpointing what she wants gone without worrying about accidentally erasing something. Her training with Amy has made her more skilled with her power and after going to the Orlando Duchy, it proved her sister right. She used the power to erase the plague at its source, but she never had the courage to erase it from people without killing them.

She went to an empty space in the middle of the Hall and began dancing. This is no time for this. She has to be quick.

She is not as nimble as Amy, but she is still a pretty good dancer.

"What is she doing?" One of the children asked.

Nathaniel looked back briefly to see Violet dancing but is stunned as he can see that by doing so she is accumulating power. Everyone else is struggling to hold the horde back. Even with magic, the adults are far too strong and resilient to magic for some reason.

"Don't stop her!!" Melissa shouted leading to everyone who was staring at Violet to stare at her. "She is planning to use her power. Just hold on until she's done!"

Whatever she is doing, he could see that she is planning something large. Everyone else seems to understand what she is doing is having effect as her power is growing.

A light accumulated around her beautifully like an aura of an angel.

Her arms feel lighter, stronger and each motion feels liberating.

Think of yourself as a tree. It absorbs water from its roots and sunlight from its leaves. With each motion, you would absorb the energy around you and strengthen your power. With this, you would become the strongest person here, a saintess in the making.

Viola stared up and finished the dance with a literal bang as the light encompasses all matter.

*

Those, unaffected by the brainwashing, stare into the direction where they see a bright light. It was already nighttime, but it looks like it is daytime again.

The Olive guard are all fighting the brainwashed adults, but that light just made them all drop like flies.

"What just happened?"

Boris took a look at a young woman. "They're all unharmed. Just unconscious."

Alabaster was in shocked and stared at Rufus, who appeared stunned but not drawn to the power. He may have tested Violet to see if she has the trait that Rufus is obsessed with, but he is still wary of him.

"It's beautiful." One of the guards said.

Then they all noticed the adults waking up and their blank eyes now stare at them with clarity.

"What's going on?"

"Oh, thank heavens." Ursa said with relief.

Everyone stared into the bright pillar of light. This day is monumental as the Legendary Purification Power that Hekaton himself possessed reappeared in the most glorious way possible.

Today marks the day that Violet Anthos is recognized by the People of Solin as the Saintess.
