Rufus kicked the chest of his opponent, knocking the air out of his lungs. He looked down on his opponent, as he watched him in fear.
"I give up!"
The announcer smiled widely at his audience, "Rufus Valerian is the winner!"
He received so many cheers from everyone as he waved and smiled like he usually does until he is out of view. Instead of joining in the audience to watch the other matches, he decides to leave the colosseum and go investigate. Everyone is too focused on the tournament to care about anything else. No one is going to be around to care about him at the moment, and this is the perfect opportunity to escape.
One of his animals seem to find something suspicious and alert him of it since this morning. Since he is now wary of a certain issue, he is now looking closely at things he didn't notice before.
He walked into one of the training circular rooms, where students usually practice summoning magic circles. The room is large enough to hold a small meeting but there is no space to hide. He is unsure why one of his creatures finds this suspicious. He cannot share thoughts or senses with them, so it is quite inconvenient, but this little one is one of his smarter ones so there has to be a reason.
After letting the little creature go, it climbed around the stone wall until it stopped. Curiously, he tapped something, and it felt hollow. He put some pressure onto it and the wall slid open to an arch portal.
Rufus is stunned. To set up an unauthorized portal must take a lot of time and effort. This is years of preparation. The downside to the security in the Magic Academy means that using magic, even forbidden ones are fair game and unnoticed.
The portal... Rufus gulped a bit, but he came prepared and immediately jumped in realizing that he is in drawing room of some sorts but unlike the Solin style, it is in a Getel style. He quickly realized that he is in the Moon Dormitory. He could tell because the woodwork on the furniture is unique only to Getel. Getel also prizes their skill and abilities as beast tamers than any other nation.
As if that isn't evidence enough, there are paintings depicting their King Fergus and the royal family. He observed the most prominent painting. Other than the King, there are two young women standing next to him with cold smiles and a man who seems to be the only one smiling. They are the royal family. From what he knows, the man is the former crown prince who died a couple years ago. He doesn't recall how he died but now there is arguments on who should succeed him among the two princesses.
Most of the Team Moon students and graduates usually come from Getel, so they usually style the place to add Getel culture in their dorms.
He searched the room and recognized the scents of certain individuals. He recognized it immediately because he killed them after interrogation. No one ever mentioned the portal though.
He then tracks the ones he doesn't recognize and head out. While walking, he changes out of his style. He untied the bun and ruffled up his hair, took off his yellow sun badge showing his affiliation in his pocket. Then using one of his stolen powers, his hair and eyes changed color. He looked at his hair to see that it turned into a deep brown color. Still walking, he stared at his reflection at the window, seeing he is virtually unrecognizable as he changes his skin tone, looking tanned. He could still be recognized if anyone looks closely though so he is not going to interact with anyone.
After reaching his destination, he realized where he is.
Damat's wing. There is no mistaking their signature tile designs on their walls. He continued walking and is almost startled to see a girl walk out of her door. She seems to not notice him and walk past him.
After following the scent trail, he stopped at a random door and forcibly opened it after picking the lock.
Wasting no time, he began searching his room and found nothing out of the ordinary and rapidly flipped the pages of the books with pieces of paper falling out of it. After picking them up, he noticed names, dates and format of a letter. The writing, however, is incoherent and difficult to make out without effort. He tried to read it, but it is impossible. But handwriting aside, he is intrigued because he immediately recognized the stationery, knowing who it is from.
It was written nearly two years ago. That year was when...
He turned to the back and there is a drawing of a black scalenohedron with notes not in the author's handwriting saying "fast, precise, requires full concentration and expert sniping skills". Looking around more, he found trash in his trashcan with traces of burns inside. Dammit, he destroyed his own evidence. He reread the contents of the paper but was barely able to make it out clearly. He might need to decipher this himself when he gets back.
Why hasn't he got rid of this one then and why does he have it? Did this person think that people will overlook this when reading it? He then began searching more. Something that would give this guy's identity away, something more concrete. Unfortunately, he found nothing, not even a name. Frustrated and done, He kept the letter in his pocket and left through the window instead of the way he came in. He is going to decipher the letter.
He then noticed a wooden bird perched at the tree near his path. Shit.

"You've got to be kidding me."
Amy noticed someone leaving the room through one of the birds. His appearance may be different but through the bird, the aura of her power from him is unmistakable. She is nervous seeing that this whole mess might be her fault. She couldn't tell what Rufus found there but she caught a glimpse of an image that she immediately recognizes. Two years ago, she wrote a lot of crazy things and send it to her pen pals but luckily everyone sees it as nonsense and dismiss it because of her arising insanity. She cannot remember anything anyway. So, there is someone that actually took her words seriously?!
She groaned loudly on the spot.
This is all her fault.
"Alabaster, I might have to deal with this one myself."
