Chapter 49 - Pusher

Amy was humming happily. She got out of bed after finishing her last bowl of medicine with a bit of candy and stared at the nurse who tended to her.

"Thank you so much."

The nurse had a small smile as she led her out of the building. Finally she is free.

Amy's expression of happiness changed in an instant as she head towards her dorm on foot, wanting to take a walk. She is met by Viola, Melissa, Nathaniel and Theseus on the way who looks ecstatic to see her.

"Amy!" Viola ran towards her with a tight hug which left her laughing.

"Viola, you just saw me last night."

"I know but it's nice to see you out of the hospital." she replied gleefully.

"It must be nice out of the infirmary. You are lucky in a way. You don't have to attend classes in person." Theseus says.

Amy was beaming. Her stomach doesn't hurt anymore and she wouldn't need to worry about any effects that those potions would have on her.

"By the way, I heard a rumor about me."

The others was stunned and Viola broke out of the hug with a stern expression.

"Don't listen to what they're saying. The rumors are all untrue. Otherwise, the professors will have found out about it and you would've been in trouble." Sabina says.

"But it's true that someone spread a rumor about me selling drugs, right?"

Viola nodded while the others are left reluctant to answer which left Amy's flushed with anger.

There was a rumor that spread during her hospitalization. She has brewed potions with excellent effects for profit but wouldn't sell it to anyone who would snitch which would explain why everyone is so vague about it. It is obvious where to find the source of the rumors.

"Why hasn't anyone told me this?"

"You're recovering. Besides we wanted to investigate ourselves." Nathaniel says. "Leon has been curious about your room and has gone there quite often. I'm concerned what he plans on doing with them."

"I admit that I made the potions but they were not for sale. They were for my intake alone."

"Are they dangerous?" Nathaniel asked worriedly.

"No, but it has side effects if a person has weak control of their magic." she replied.

Theseus is a bit reluctant to speak for a bit. "Um, around fourteen kids already had these potions of yours and the results are amazing."

Amy stopped to process this information. She could already feel a headache coming in. Who knows what those two morons would do with all her notes and research.

"Where. Are. Those. Idiots?" she says with gritted teeth.

Amy heads to her room to see that her room look slightly empty. Her shelves are filled with less books than she'd last saw it. Frantic, she started looking around for what is left.

"Dammit!" she muttered and looked to see her pet project, alive but starving.

They're alive! she sighed with relief and used her magic to fill up the marbles to feed them for another month.

The stores for her potions, experiments, inventions and most of her notes have been taken out and moved. She then reorganized everything after waving her hand.

She was told that her potion stash is confiscated by the professors but they did nothing to it. investigating it is not their priority because of another reason.

All of her things were touched and taken by Leon and Viola says that she's been searching and successfully got some of them back after some persuasion.

I knew it. The Lapis Lazuli book and Zelel's grimoire are gone.

Her most important notebook is enchanted so it would only be opened and seen by her alone. The Lapis Lazuli book contains her most dangerous, anachronistic pieces of work and discoveries. Her extensive research on Hecate was also in that notebook. Years of research are put into it. She made it herself using lapis lazuli stones she received from her grandfather.

She has made sure to dispose of anything else that would throw off her awareness of the future and original world so she is not concerned about that.

Zelel's grimoire on the other hand is a different story. That book was a gift from her great-grandfather. It is an extremely rare, priceless, one-of-a-kind book that teaches her ancient magic. It is so complex and difficult to translate and decode that she only successfully translated the first four pages only. The pages are in mint condition however the cover is extremely old. They might dispose of it by accident.

Amy got an item and quickly head off with the others behind her.

How much more work are you guys gonna submit me to? She thought angrily.

"Done!" Rufus shouted as he finished filling up the last bottle.

Trays of potion of different varieties have been organized and put aside.

"Now that we got prepared, let's-"

But before they could say anymore, the doors swung open to an extremely bitter Amy which left the pair disconcert.

"Amaryllis, I tried to stop him but-"

Amy didn't listen as she had eyes on the items. The first one was the lapis lazuli book.

"I believe that belongs to me." She snatched it out of Leon's hand then looked around for a few more, grabbing some notebooks and checking the titles of each one. After collecting four books in her arms, she put her hand upon the rest.

"Infiammare"

The pile of books burst into flame, shocking everyone.

"What are you doing?!" Sabina shrieked but everyone's worries faded quickly as the flames died almost immediately leaving nothing, not even ashes.

"What did you do that for?" Leon asked with a nonchalant look. It is clear he is hiding his discontent and shock.

"You stupid-" she stopped herself from saying something she'll regret. "After what I did for you, you took advantage of the time I've been gone by stealing my stuff, making it for profit, using my freakin name and spread rumors of me being a drug pusher."

Leon has a cold, unrepentant expression on his face. "If you're looking for an apology, you're not getting one."

Amy isn't surprised as she expected this behavior however that doesn't make her any less offended. She has seen him like this in the manga yet he likes to get under her skin.

"Leon!" Rufus growled then stared at Amy, "It's true that we took your books but we thought there was a secret as to how you found and rescue us. Then..." he has a sheepish expression. "we got carried away. You have a lot of interesting things in those books of yours. But we don't have any bad intentions. We promise."

Amy had a look of realization. "Don't tell me you're going back into the labyrinth again."

Theseus nodded in response to Amy of their intentions. Horrified, she stared at the others who are all nervous looking.

"Hold on! Are you thinking of going back to the labyrinth?"

"We have to." Leon said. "That guy who broke into my room wanted to go to the labyrinth for a reason. We need to go there now."

"Don't bother." Amy interrupted in a tired tone, "You both set off the security. I barely got you both alive when it was let down for a brief moment. I wouldn't be able to do this a second time."

Amy looked at the books in her hand and clutched them.

"I told you that you are not gonna do anything dangerous without notifying me first."

"We plan to." Leon said. "We made these potions just in case. They amplify our powers."

"And the drug rumors?"

"We wanted to test out the results after making them so we sold them out to people who would benefit the most out of them. We don't need most of the stuff we made." Rufus says, "But then we found out that the ingredients you prepared work better than the ones we did so we begun to use it sparingly."

"We are not skilled in potions so we used your name for credibility and it worked."

This is getting out of hand. Amy stared at everyone.

"Metatrepste ti mnimi se oneira" Amy whispered then everyone suddenly froze. After Amy said a few more words, which requires modifying their memory, everyone snapped out of it.

A bit dizzy, she grabbed a bit of scrap paper and wrote down her rejuvenation potion recipe for them to see. She quickly grabbed all her things and left the room, confident that she did it right.
