Chapter 34 - Chapter 34 – Less bullets to use, the better your accuracy

Taro's POV

By 3:33 p.m. after a snack time, I left my senpai's house and went to the police academy to do my daily gunnery training. There I did my practice shots at the shooting range with my safety equipment on. My now firearms instructor was observing my every shot and gives me feedback every few shots and so.

"Hmm…try using less bullets so you could improve your accuracy," he suggested to me.

Upon hearing that, I looked at him with a surprised look on my face. "How?"

"Focus on those few bullets and try to improve your accuracy using them. This will reduce your consumption of bullets, especially in battle.

Listening to his suggestion, I began to ponder on it, trying to process what it means.

Then, I tried it and focused on my accuracy using 5 bullets, before pulling the trigger.

It worked, and 3 out of the 5 bullets hit the target perfectly. "Yes, I did it!"

"Very good, I told you it's a good suggestion." my instructor gave me a thumbs-up. "Keep using that, and you'll improve in no time. Plus, you'll waste less bullets in the long run."

 "Yes, sir!"

I continued my gunnery training with less bullets, fueled by sheer determination for more improvement.

By 5:00 p.m., I finished my training, which was 4 times a week, and went home. At home, my father wasn't yet home because he usually comes home at 6:45 p.m., so I played with my younger sister, Kana, a nice girl in middle school, at her room and did some manga reading after that. Later, at 6:01 p.m., I opened my journal and started writing the suggestion my firearms instructor gave me, before writing my interpretation of it in a short paragraph. I wrote, "That means that you should focus on the accuracy using less things, rather than on many things. It's way better than being cluttered and buried with many things you don't really need."

After that, I wondered if this one applies to my life, too…
