Chapter 35 - Chapter 35 – Duality is so cool

Saki's POV

Tonight, I was reading one of my family's heirlooms, which is a spell book. But as I tried to focus on reading the text and absorbing it, I couldn't help but think of Hoshi and Kuro.

"They're so cool!" I thought in admiration, derailing me from my studying of magic.

I then began to imagine about them being in action.

In that imaginary scenario, Kuro defeats some random yokai while Hoshi commands him.

"So cool!" I began to be trapped in that daydream.

But, I couldn't express my feelings towards them.

Duality is so cool, and it would still be cool if one of them is gone.

Then, my mom called me for dinner, so I closed the book and left the room, going downstairs for dinner. There my parents and twin younger brothers are waiting for me.

 "Saki, let's eat."

"We had Japanese fried chicken here."

"Yes! Thank you, mom and dad." I sat down next to one of my twin brothers.

After we made a prayer gesture and said, "Thank you for the food", we grabbed our chopsticks and ate up.

"So good!" I savored every bite of the delicious and crispy fried poultry.

"Isn't it delicious?" my father asked me.

 "Yes, thank you."

We continued on eating with the silence of the night ruling around us.

"Mom, dad, I have someone whom I'm having a crush with," I said, breaking the silence.

"Oh, then who's that someone?" my mom asked me, eager to hear from me.

"It's my friend and classmate Hoshi Santos."

They and my twin siblings are very surprised to hear that.

 "What?"

 "Onee-san?"

I was embarrassed, but I nodded in admitting. "Yes, it was him."

My family, who knew that I never had someone before, understood that and asked me what I needed to win him over or what was wrong with me.

"Well, what if he rejected me?" I answered back, biting my lip a bit.

"I see," my father replied back, before taking a bite of his piece of cucumber. "It's okay. He might not notice your feelings for him, so try to give him some space, okay?"

 "Okay, dad."

My twin siblings are happy and excited to see him for the first time.

"Okay, I'll tell him to come over here," I said to them with a promise.
