Chapter 12 - Continuous Enemy

"Careful, Sir Luis," Arthur warned his companion as they prepared to confront the colossal beastman summoned by their leader. They strategically positioned themselves around the creature to avoid being simultaneously struck by its massive hammer and to facilitate easier dodging of its attacks.

Once Sir Luis and Sir Troy were in position, Arthur launched a barrage of firebolts at the beastman, aiming to draw its attention towards himself. This diversion would allow Sir Luis and Sir Troy to freely attack from different angles.

The two soldiers simultaneously struck the beastman's legs with their swords, attempting to bring it to its knees. However, the creature's limbs were incredibly tough, and their sword strikes clanged against it as if they were hitting solid metal. This unexpected resilience of the beastman presented a significant challenge, forcing Arthur and his companions to reassess their strategy and find a new way to overcome this daunting adversary.

Sir Troy and Sir Luis were sent flying when they intercepted a retaliatory strike from the colossal beastman.

Despite successfully blocking the blow with their swords, the sheer force of the impact from the creature's giant hammer was overwhelming, and they couldn't withstand it, resulting in them being hurled away.

Both soldiers ended up leaning against a nearby structure, struggling to cope with the pain from the powerful hit.

They attempted to gather their strength, enduring the pain from the injuries they had sustained.

This moment underscored the formidable strength of their adversary and the challenge they faced in overcoming such a powerful enemy.

Seizing the moment when the behemoth's attention was momentarily diverted to Sir Troy and Sir Luis, Arthur charged up one of his skills, preparing for a powerful attack.

His sword blazed intensely as he readied himself.

With a swift dash forward, Arthur targeted the beast's rear. He unleashed a massive slash, his sword skill manifesting like a giant lion's claw made of fire.

Despite the beast's tough exterior, Arthur's attack inflicted a severe wound, causing the massive creature to buckle to its knees as blood spurted from the injury.

The gigantic beastman momentarily lost its grip on the massive hammer as it kneeled, letting out a thunderous roar that seemed to express immense pain from Arthur's fiery attack.

Arthur signaled Sir Troy and Sir Luis to join in the assault. Despite their injuries and the pain they were enduring, they understood they couldn't miss this rare opportunity Arthur had created.

Together, they relentlessly struck the weakened beastman, each wielding their swords with renewed vigor.

Their coordinated assault was a testament to their resilience and determination.

Even in the face of adversity and injury, Sir Troy and Sir Luis rallied, contributing to the collective effort to bring down the formidable enemy.

After several minutes of relentless sword strikes, the colossal beastman finally succumbed and lost its life.

Arthur and his companions emerged victorious, though utterly exhausted and weakened from the intense battle. Sir Troy and Sir Luis, despite their fatigue and injuries, had fought valiantly alongside Arthur, showcasing their bravery and commitment to their mission.

The defeat of such a formidable enemy was a significant accomplishment for Arthur and his team.

Despite having defeated the enormous beastman, Arthur and his team couldn't afford to rest yet. The leader of the beastmen, identifiable by his large head, remained a threat.

Arthur's piercing gaze met the leader's, which was now filled with fear.

Sensing its vulnerability, the beastman leader began to retreat, attempting to flee.

"Come back and fight, you coward!" Sir Luis shouted, frustrated as he watched the beastman leader run away.

"After him! Before he summons the rest!" Arthur commanded, aware that the leader might call upon more formidable foes if not apprehended quickly.

As they pursued the fleeing leader, Sir Troy tossed healing potions to Arthur and Sir Luis.

Catching them mid-chase, they quickly consumed the potions, hoping to regain some strength and alleviate their fatigue.

This brief moment of respite was crucial, allowing them to recover slightly and prepare for the next phase of their mission.

The urgency of the situation was clear – they needed to stop the leader before he could escalate the threat further.

As Arthur and his companions continued their pursuit, they found themselves at a shallow lake just beyond the village.

The beastmen leader, cornered and increasingly fearful, seemed particularly terrified of this specific location.

Sensing they had the leader trapped, Arthur and his team readied their weapons, determined to end the beastmen leader's reign of terror.

"This ends now!" Arthur declared, advancing cautiously towards the frightened leader.

However, as they drew closer, they noticed something stirring beneath the water's surface.

A subtle tremor rippled through the lake, and in a shocking turn of events, an enormous creature suddenly emerged from the depths, right beneath where the beastmen leader stood.

The monstrous creature, with no warning, devoured the leader in one swift, merciless action.

This unexpected development left Arthur and his companions stunned.

The appearance of such a massive creature from the lake added a new, unforeseen layer of danger to their mission, forcing them to quickly reassess their situation and prepare for this new, formidable threat.

"Bloody hell!" exclaimed Sir Luis, horrified as they watched the enormous monster devour the beastmen leader.

The creature resembled a gigantic carnivorous plant, with a vast maw lined with sharp teeth and numerous grotesque tentacles. It seemed to lack eyes, but its keen senses were evident.

"A Ruffian – an enormous man-eating plant rarely seen in the south. How did it end up here?" Arthur wondered aloud, taken aback by the sudden appearance of this rare and dangerous entity.

As the Ruffian let out a deafening roar, it was clear that its appetite was not yet satiated after consuming the beastmen leader. It appeared ready to target Arthur and his team next.

"Keep clear of its maw, my lord!" Sir Troy warned as they cautiously retreated, quickly trying to formulate a strategy to defeat the gigantic Ruffian.

The urgency of the situation was palpable – they had to find a way to overcome this unexpected and formidable opponent.
