Chapter 25 - Haruna Sakura

"Sakura?" As soon as he heard this surname, Kazuya immediately abandoned the joking thoughts and began to take things seriously. Was this revenge from Haruka Sakura? Being a high school girl, she still acted quite childishly!

He scrutinized Haruna Sakura, who had a black giant sword bag slung diagonally across her back, with curiosity about whether it contained a spear or a naginata. She was about his height, probably in the range of 170-175 cms, which was significantly above average for a Japanese high school girl.

Her figure was athletic, influenced by the thoughts with Yuma, Kazuya had also picked up some bad habits. He could even estimate that her bust size was at least a D-cup, practically surpassing all school girls.

Her facial features were pure and innocent, long black hair shining with a healthy luster like crow feathers, tied into a high ponytail with a cute cartoon hairband, bouncing as she moved. Rosy cheeks, a sun-kissed light brown skin tone indicated she probably engaged in outdoor activities regularly. Her gaze was clear like that of a child and she looked even more childlike when she pouted.

There was a noticeable contrast between her appearance and her figure, like a combination of an angel and a devil, exuding a peculiar allure.

Kazuya stroked his chin. Looking at her appearance and figure, she didn't seem like the family of Haruka Sakura. Could it be that they just happened to share the same surname? No, it shouldn't be that coincidental. Sakura wasn't such a common surname.

He wateched her school uniform and found that the wrinkled skirt was the uniform of Hope Peak Academy's female students though she wasn't wearing a sweater and rolled up the sleeves. Was she a senior from the same school? This could be troublesome: picking a fight with upperclassmen in Japanese schools could lead to serious consequences.

However, there was nothing to fear. Kazuya gazed into Haruna Sakura's clear eyes, "Did you come because of the incident with your younger sister?"

Haruna Sakura was stunned for a moment, then suddenly became angry and shouted, "What? You even hurt Akiko? She's still in middle school, and you dared to act against her? Bullying the younger ones, shameless and despicable!"

Kazuya was bewildered. Who is Akiho? He was momentarily at a loss and asked in confusion, "Isn't Haruka Sakura your younger sister?"

"Huh?" Haruna looked at Kazuya strangely. "Are you fool? Haruka is my big sister!"

Kazuya couldn't help but rub his eyes. Was this some kind of joke? A younger sister who was thirty cms taller than her elder sister? The elder sister being flat-chested while the little sister had a sizable bust? What kind of sisters were they?

"Haruka is... your sister?" Even with his eyes wide open, Kazuya couldn't believe it!

Haruna proudly puffed her chest, "That's right, I am the twin sister of my big sister! Haven't you seen this before?"

"Twin sister?" Kazuya took in a sharp breath. He had seen fraternal twins before, but never with such a drastic difference. It was like witnessing a Siberian bear and a Bulgarian hamster hatching from the same egg: it was really unbelievable.

But whatever! Kazuya looked around. There wasn't a single twig here, not to mention anything usable as a weapon. However, he didn't panic. If necessary, he could snatch a weapon later from them.

He said in caution, "So, are you also a first-year student at Hope Peak Academy? And you here to avenge your sister?"

Haruna took off the big sword bag from her back and said loudly, "Yes, I'm in Class H! I heard that you deliberately insulted my sister in kendo class yesterday. No one can insult the Sakura family without consequences!" As she spoke, she drew a big wooden sword from the bag, even taller than her, and swung it in the air, creating a sharp sound that nearly knocked out the three behind her.

She called out, "Draw your sword, and let us have a fair and square match!"

Kazuya's gaze fell on the giant wooden sword. He recognized it as a practice wooden sword modeled after a "nodachi." This type of sword was rarely used in one-on-one combat due to its excessive length and weight. But it was effective on the battlefield: several people wielding such large battle swords would advance like a forest, and before the enemies reached them, they would simultaneously swing down, cutting down both men and horses. It was like a meat grinder, leaving behind a field of broken swords and corpses.

Using such a weapon required extraordinary strength, and one needed to practice extensively to get used to it. Otherwise, not only could one not control the sword, but the sword might drag the wielder along, possibly leading to self-inflicted injuries.

To dare to engage in a one-on-one fight with this thing indicated considerable confidence in her own abilities. Kazuya became even more cautious. Suppressing the desire to initiate a surprise attack without a weapon, he set his sights on the Nobita in the group, intending to snatch its sword bag. He seemed the weakest, so it would be easier to take the weapon.

Thinking everything was going perfectly and prepared to take actions, he saw Haruna turn around and shout, "Honekawa, give him the wooden sword."

Without hesitation, Honekawa Suneo tossed the wooden sword from the bag to Kazuya's feet. Kazuya raised an eyebrow in surprise, "Aren't you here to avenge your sister? Why are you giving me a weapon?"

Haruna was full of righteousness, standing tall and proclaiming loudly, "I am not a despicable person! Even though my sister was insulted by you, I heard that you defeated her in a fair duel. I won't let the Sakura family be disgraced. We'll have a one-on-one duel, and the loser must kneel and apologize!"

After finishing her words, she turned to the three and ordered, "Whether I win or lose, none of you are allowed to intervene. Just be witnesses, understood? Of course, if I win, make sure to go back and prove my martial prowess to my sister!"

They complied without hesitation. It seemed that Haruna held great respect among them. They made a fierce and majestic formation once again, "Wishing Aneki success in your martial endeavors and win with a single stroke!"

Kazuya looked at the wooden sword at his feet, then at Haruna, and at the pose the three made. He felt like he didn't want to engage in meaningless conflict with this girl. If this group rushed at him, he could fight back as usual, but the sudden humor in thIS situation made it unbearable!

After some contemplation, he said, "Haruna, are you suggesting a fair duel between us?"

"Yes! I want to restore my sister's dignity!"

"But you use your own sword against me who use unsuitabe one. Is it really fair?"

Haruna pondered as she pinched her chin, "You have a point. Winning like this doesn't seem honorable." She looked up and asked, "Hey, do you have any better ideas?"

He replied, "Let's set a date for our duel! Next time I will take my sword." He planned to take a three-day break, then perform three-day ablution, followed by a three-day prayer. Hopefully, by then, this naive girl would forget about the duel.

Unexpectedly, Haruna was very straightforward, "No problem. I'll wait for you in the park near the station. I'll stake the honor of a swordsman. I'll wait for you until the end of time, come what may!"

She led her followers and swiftly departed, extremely decisive.

Kazuya reached out to stop her, but he was left speechless. He picked up the wooden sword. You didn't even want this? We're both high school students, where does this swordsman's honor come from? And what on earth is "the end of time" and "come what may"? Are we dueling or dating?

Maybe she meant "be there or be square". Is this with so low knowledge really a classmate of mine?
