Chapter 31 - Dungeons

"You really shouldn't drop a bomb on someone like that and leave them hanging," Darla said as she and Evelyn stepped into the bath the next morning. "You say we're gong after a dragon and then instead of any details just pass the fuck out?"

Smiling, Evelyn replied, "What details can I go into depth on though? I was tired and am as in the dark as you are."

"You said it with so much confidence like you had this grand plan," Darla said. She then moaned and leaned back in the bath. "This feels good though. I can't remember the last time I soaked like this."

"Does in make your roots feel nourished?" Evelyn poked fun at Darla's powers.

"Does it sniff your fire out?" Darla teased back. Exchanging a slight laugh, she followed up, "You know, my powers aren't all for fighting."

With a curious look on her face, Evelyn said, "Entertain me?"

A feeling of pleasure and arousal surged through Evelyn's body quickly and then dissipated into a sort of delicate soothing sensation on her skin as the scent of lavender brush along her senses.

Reading Evelyn's expression, Darla said, "Sorry. I should have warned you beforehand. I added a type of cleanser into the water. Unfortunately, the one that I have in my arsenal sooths your body but also happens to turn you on at the same time."

With a few deep breaths, Evelyn finally stood up and said, "I need to see Jackson. I'll be right back." And walked out the bathroom door.

Darla was alone for a minute before Fawn and Laylee walked into the bath. "What's with Evelyn?" Fawn asked with an accusing tone to Darla. "She was red in the face."

Darla, knowing she did nothing wrong, replied, "I offered to add something to the bath, and I did."

"Then why is she red in the face?" Fawn asked sternly.

"Because it ran a sensation over her and she's looking for her little boyfriend to fill the certain sensation," Darla said.

"Oh," Fawn said. "As her adoptive mother I don't need to know more."

Watching Laylee and Fawn get into the bath she was a little surprised, "Wow." She spoke. "You both aren't affected the same way she was."

"I feel it," Laylee said. "But I also just came from Kanaka's room."

"And I just came from the shore," Fawn said.

Both looking at Fawn, Laylee asked, "Really? You find someone to your liking back on the shore?"

Smiling, Fawn said, "Burritos and tacos are not the only think Rodney knows how to cook up." And they all started laughing at Evelyn came back in.

 "That way quick!" Darla exclaimed.

 "I hate you," Evelyn mumbled.

"Is your boyfriend really that quick?" She teased.

"No," Evelyn said as she got back into the bath, "I didn't quite make it up the stairs before-"

"Oh, look at the weather outside. Not a cloud in sight," Fawn quickly changed the subject.

Evelyn fully submerged herself in the water and then let herself float, face first, blowing bubbles.

"Darla," Laylee said, "So the boys bath time is after ours, do you have anything for the bath to make their lives, well, hard.'

 Smiling, Darla replied, "Pun intended?"

"Very," Laylee replied with a smile.

Evelyn shot up, and looking at Laylee, said, "You're diabolical."

"I don't want any part of this," Fawn said. "Anyway, what are you girls going to get into today? I don't have anything planned so maybe I'll join you on whatever it may be?"

"Well, last night, Kanaka promised me on a proper date so I'm going to hold him to that," Laylee said. "Sorry Evelyn. Maybe we can get those belly button piercings tomorrow."

"It's okay," Evelyn said sitting on the edge of the tub. "So, Darla and I were planning to visit a dragon."

Sighing and looking down, Fawn said, "Oh, cool. If you don't want to tell me what you're doing I understand."

Laughing, Darla said, "Oh hun, you think Evelyn is joking?"

Looking up, Fawn said, "Well of course she is. Nobody in their right mind would say-"

"We're going to visit a dragon," Evelyn said again.

Looking at Evelyn intensely for a moment and then clicked in her mind, Fawn muttered in a low tone that increased to a high tone, "Are you out of your fucking mind! A dragon? A damn dragon? Where in Neptune's sack did you find a dragon on this continent? We just got here!"

Trying to control her laughter, Evelyn said, "Oh come on Fawny. It's nothing too bad. We're just going to become friends. No killing or fighting, I promise. Come with us! It will be fun!"

"YOU CAN'T MAKE FRIENDS WITH A DRAGON!" Fawn yelled.

Looking at Evelyn, Darla said, "Yeah, I think I'm with her on this one. When you told me about this I thought we were going to fight this thing. Where did making friends with this thing come up?"

Addressing Darla, Fawn said, "You were already in on this before thinking you two would fight it?"

Smiling, Laylee said, "This. This right here is better than any show I've ever watched."

The argument had gone on for a while to the point that Goob had lined up Fawn and Evelyn on the top deck. He was pacing by them in thought until he finally stopped and faced them and said, "Was the arguing really necessary?"

"I don't really see what the problem is," Evelyn said. "I just wanted to go and make friends with a dragon today. Is that so wrong?"

"I know you mean well, darling," Goob said, "But this is a dragon we're talking about. None of us have even attempted a dragon yet and since there is only a rumor to be three legendary dragons in the world, I don't think we'll ever attempt it."

"I'm not going to hunt it," Evelyn said.

"Yeah, but becoming friends is impossible," Goob said.

"The system says to become friends with the dragon so it's what I'm going to do. I don't think it would tell me to do that if it was impossible." Evelyn thought.

"Ugh, please just stop being impossible," Evelyn moaned.

"How about this," Goob finally said. "Wasabi, you cool with being on babysitting duty with these two today?"

"Sure! I got nothing better to do!" He said from the upper deck.

"Great!" Goob said. "Now if you excuse us, we're all going to take a bath and then y'all can head out."

"I hope you're happy," Evelyn said to Fawn.

"I knew my cousin would see it my way," Fawn smiled.

"Hey," Darla said getting into their conversation. She eyed the door the the lower deck and as soon as the door closed, she said, "Come on. Let's go! Go! Go!" And grabbed Evelyn's hand and rushed her off the ship. Fawn followed her and met Laylee at the end of the dock.

"Did you do it?" She asked.

"They'll be in an NBC situation for a while," Darla laughed.

"You girls are literally children," Fawn said.

"I'm older than you," Darla said.

Fawn gave her an evil eye, sighed, and then said, "Whatever. I'm leaving." And walked off.

Looking at Fawn as she walked away, Laylee said, "That is in the direction of Rodney's. You think she's smitten?'

"Maybe," Darla said. "A way to a man's heart is through his stomach. Maybe it has a different meaning to a woman?"

"Are you going to continue to make inappropriate references about my adoptive parents throughout our whole friendship?" Evelyn asked.

Looking back at Evelyn and Darla, Laylee said, "If you want to go after that dragon without a babysitter, you should probably go now."

"Oh, so you're in support of us making friends with a dragon?" Evelyn said.

"I've never had a proper date in my life. So at this point, I'm having a hard time thinking about anything. Just don't die." Laylee said.

Evelyn smiled as her and Darla trailed off.

"She's on the move again," Arland said to James from the upper deck of one of their ships as he was looking through a telescope.

James was looking at a pair of shackles in his hands, "She won't know what to do once these are on her," he said with a smile.

"They're not going to work," Arland said.

"Can you not be an asshole for once?" James asked.

He gave a side eye glance at his older brother and then said, "Should we go?"

"Yeah. We'll trail far behind so they can't detect us though," James said.

"Okay," Arland said. "Go address your crew and I'll address mine." James nodded and left. "Hey! Listen up!" Arland said, getting his crew's attention. "James and I are about to head out again. Need I remind you of your roles again. Technicians are to trail the Captain of the Crystaline pirates and their technician Jackson. All others are to keep a close eye on all other crewmates of the ship. Cooks and Shipwrights stay guard on the ship. We're not trying to fight them, just keep an eye on them. Understood?"

"Aye, sir!" They said in unison.

Arland smiled and said, "Very good. Break!"

And the crew of the Bloodstone pirates headed out.

Arriving to a mountain scape terrain on the outskirts of the town near the port, Darla started asking, "So what are we looking for?"

"Well," Evelyn started. "What's a dragon? A giant creature which means it probably lives in a giant cave."

"What if it's just labeled?" Darla asked.

"Why would it be-" Evelyn stopped once she turned and saw a cave in the direction Darla was pointing at up ahead of them.

[Dragon Cave] was labeled in front of the cave entrance.

"So the system is just labeling things in the world now?" Evelyn said.

 "Did it not?" Darla asked.

"Not in the slightest," Evelyn replied.

When they approached the entrance of the cave, a system info box appeared to them.

Evelyn was trying not to jump into excitement. "Alright!" She screamed.

Looking at Evelyn, eyeing her up and down, Darla said, "The system can store your armor and weapons?'

 "Yeah," she smiled. "It's convenient."

Darla put a hand and her chest and materialized an emerald plated light armor suit with leather that looked like it came from a strong and sturdy plant. She then materialized on Emerald sword.

"So you just use your powers to suit up?" Evelyn asked.

Looking at the system messages with a smile, Darla said, "When I have some free time, I have a lot more stuff to equip to add to this thing."

"Shall we go in?" Evelyn said.

With an assuring nod from Darla, they walked in. As soon as they entered the cave, a screen appeared behind them.

[Welcome to the Dragon Cave Dungeon]

[Disclaimer: There are only 2 ways to leave the dungeon]

[1. Clear the dungeon]

[2. Perish and enduring the most dreadful death]

"Oh wow. Leave it to the system to put the disclaimer on the wrong side of the message," Evelyn moaned. "And wouldn't die just be a better way to say number 2? I feel like perish and what bogus-ness is a little overkill."

Darla put her hand out at the cave and touched an invisible barrier. "Agreed. Also, Yep. We're trapped in here alright."

Lighting a fire in her hand, Evelyn said, "Then shall we kick some ass?"

Darla smiled and said, "Lead the way Captain."

"Where the hell are they?" James questioned Arland in an angry tone. "You lost them! This is your fault!"

"My fault?" Arland laughed. "Fuck you! I swear! They disappeared in thin air!"

"Really?" James began to get heated. "Your blasted power is air! If they disappeared in thin air, then shouldn't you know where they are? That's your domain after all!"

"Okay, first of all, it's not my domain. It's just air. I can use it with my powers. And second, stop being a dick!" Arland snapped back.

"I'll be whatever the hell I want to be!" James barked.

Arland pushed James back off him with a gust of air, but he held his ground.

James was still in a state of anger, but now he was smiling. "So, you want to fucking go little brother?"

"Come at me!" Arland yelled. "I beat you last time, I'll beat you this time too!"

"It's your funeral!" James said as he lifted both hands in the air and he summoned a large portal above him. Two hands emerged grabbing the sides of the portal and hoisting itself out was a large golem made of black iron that stood 3 stories tall. With a large smile on his face, James said, "Come at be bro!"
