PART 0
The edge of a sharp blade shone clearly in the moonlight, the illuminating glow emphasizing the darkness of the blood that was splattered across the sword. The sword was Death itself, hovering over its soon-to-be-victim.
The wielder was a being that used to be human, but now was a monster. His red eyes, with dangerous, slitted pupils, glittered with malice.
"I would never betray you, I swear! You are my only comrade-my best friend, even! Don't you remember?!" The voice came from a woman who was crumpled on the ground, her clothing tattered and bloodstained, her hair matted and eyes red from tears.
"Nonsense." He swished his tail back and forth irritably. "The proof is evident." The half-dragon scowled, his lips pulling back to reveal teeth sharp as daggers. Then his face assumed a pensive expression for a moment, and the woman almost didn't hear what he said next:" …You abandoned me back then, too, Lilli." He clenched his fist to his side.
Lilli flinched, taken aback. Back then? What did he mean by that? Lilli shook her head. She had to focus on the moment. " I was framed! I wouldn't betray you-I couldn't, just couldn't!"
The man with dangerous dragon features made a sound, reptilian, but almost resembling a cat's hiss. " Framed? By whom?"
"I… don't know. But someone did, I promise. Please, Adder, believe me!"
Adder's tail struck the floor, resulting in the old castle floors shaking ominously. " I'm done listening to your lies." Adder's eyes changed, now that he was set on his decision.
