Chapter 5 - Chapter 4: Adjantal

Katana's Point of View

I opened my eyes when I heard my name called and was surprised to find myself somewhere else.

What exactly am I doing here? Why am I not at Hazel's house? Where am I?

As I gazed around, my face was flooded with admiration. This place is surrounded by vibrant flowers, a rainbow-colored sky, and a swarm of flying fireflies.

Eh? Fireflies in the morning? So weird! What's so strange about that? I'm in Santuaria, which is full of strange things.

"Katana..." I tracked down the source of that voice. Who could that possibly be? That voice turns like a wind.

"Who are you?" I asked the woman with her back to me, who was clad in a brilliant foot-tall golden gown. Her waist-length curly hair was lustrous and curly. She turned to face me. Her eyes are so mild that they're golden, and her eyes are so full of longing that it makes me wonder. She was lovely, she looks like a goddess, and what attracted my attention the most were her eyes.

"We finally met." Her tone was gentle and soothing.

I'm not sure why I feel this way, but I'm relieved for her. I'm missing Mom all of a sudden.

"Who are you?" When I asked her with a serious expression, she smiled charmingly before responding.

"A friend,"

A friend?

"How did I get here, Miss?" she grinned again, turned her back, then turned to face me, clutching a cloth and a blade. My lips quivered when I learned the sword was a Katana/Samurai.

That's my favorite weapon!

"This is a small gift for you, Katana." She then handed me the presents she was holding. When I touched the cloth, I recognized it was a cloak; when you wear it, your entire body is covered up, the hood conceals your face and only your eyes are visible, the color is black, and the cape displays the halfmoon symbol.

It then handed me the Katana Sword, and when I got my hands on it, my eyes widened as it caught fire.

W-wow! That...that is incredible! A sword on fire?!

"When you turn right, it is worn automatically. When you turn left, the cloak disappears." Is that true? Maybe this goddess-looking is just fooling me?

"Why don't you try?" Her remarks caused me to frown. Can she read my thoughts? That is not surprising. I did what she instructed and turned right.

"Damn!" I covered my lips due to my cussing. It's unexpected!

So, that's right, I'm wearing the cloak, which is why I turned left again, and the cloak has vanished. She took the sword from me and placed it on my left shoulder, which startled me because the sword had immediately transformed into a tattoo that was attached to my left shoulder.

"The sword will appear when you place your hand on that mark." I nodded as she explained it to me.

So cool!

"Why did you give me a gift?" I asked, and it took a long time for her to respond.

"Because you will need it." I was shocked that I didn't ask for more explanation, so she gave me a short answer.

"By the way, what's your name?" I asked, and she turned around. When I looked around, everything seemed to vanish.

"You will also know at the right time." My body gradually dissolved after she said that.

"WAIT!" I screamed, but my body vanished completely.

"Ahh!" I was jolted awake from my nap. I assumed it was a dream, yet it seemed real.

"Sh*t!" When I saw the cloak next to me and the Katana Sword engraved on my left shoulder, I yelled. It is true! That isn't a dream! That is completely real!

So, to prove it, I did precisely what the woman said. I realized it was true as I turned around, but how? Hays! I'm gradually becoming insane in this place.

•••

I'm now in the Wild Forest, which has just as many lesser beasts as there are major creatures of evil, but I've been here before and haven't seen anything.

Are they crazy?

I also informed Kahser about the strange thing that happened to me in my dream; he immediately fell silent when I told him, which confused me.

I just closed my eyes because I'm pretty tired, so I'll go to sleep first and come home later.

"Help!" When I heard the screams, I opened my eyes. My pupils constricted as I realized how dark the place was; it was already nighttime. I slept far too much!

I went down to where I was and looked for the source of the scream. "Have mercy, don't!" I dashed to the location of the scream. I hid under the huge plants when I arrived and then turned right, so I'm currently wearing the cloak. As I neared the area, I spotted the boy fleeing as the creature approached.

Oh! That's what Adjantal's appearance, his height is about 6'11 and his skin seems to be made of a coconut tree, behind it is a circle like a turtle shell. I didn't think our confrontation would be so early.

I took a stone and hurled it at Adjantal's back, which drew his attention to me. I instantly signaled for the kid to run, which he did.

"Argh! It's your fault that he escaped!" It screamed at me. So he can talk?

I smirked despite the fact that my face was covered. "One life in exchange for so many lives? How UNFAIR." I muttered bitterly, my face a little surprised, but swiftly replaced by a grin.

"If you think you can beat me, you are wrong." He said with a laugh, so I lifted one eyebrow.

"Why don't we find out?" I smirked and pressed my right palm against my left shoulder, instantly concealing the burning Katana Sword in my hand. He took a step back when he saw the sword I was holding; luckily, I'm great with a sword; it's also one of the ones Mom taught me, although I like the Katana Sword because it's so light and sharp. His weapon, on the other hand, was two huge, razor-sharp hands.

"Let us begin the fight." I said sharply to him. I dodged and swung the sword at him, but he just shields it, then I kicked him hard in the stomach to get him away from me.

I was about to be stabbed in the shoulder, so I drew my sword. He's backtracking as a result of what I did, and I can't deny that he's tough; perhaps it's because of his victims. I pushed him again with all my effort, and he jumped this time.

I was the first to attack him, hitting him in the side, then jumping behind him and kicking him in the back, causing him to collapse, but he soon sprang up, and when I looked at his side, I was startled to see that his wound had healed instantly.

Damn it! That fast?

I attack him again, but he always dodged or blocked my sword with his sharp hands. When he gripped my sword, it cried because my blade had burned its sharp hand. I swiftly took up the sword and struck him in the left face, and I was irritated by how quickly he healed. This is so infuriating! F*ck! F*ck! F*ck! I'm furious!

"I'm telling you, you can't beat me HAHA!" It chuckles, my palms tighten in wrath, so I throw my blade out of frustration.

I've attacked numerous times but he wasn't affected at all! I dislike it because, first and foremost, nothing is funny here! I'm quite upset! What? I'm getting hot? My entire body is on fire, and I'm becoming heated up, but I'm not burned. What exactly is going on? What exactly is this? I was surrounded by a strong force that was both powerful and overflowing.

"W-what k-kind o-of c-creature a-are y-you?" He stammered, and despite my confusion, I laughed and peered into his eyes; I also felt something unusual in my eyes. He drew away as a result of the extreme terror I saw in his eyes and his reaction.

When I waved my right hand, the fire engulfed its two large hands, forcing it to scream in anguish. I grabbed my sword and raced towards him without saying anything, stabbed him in the chest, and he shouted out in agony from the pain he was in.

His shouts gradually faded after a few moments, till he was out of breath.

I was about to turn away from him when I noticed white lights on his body and knew they were the souls of people he had slain. It was too much, and the raging fire in my body had gone out. I turned completely around and had just taken two steps when someone spoke up so I stopped.

"Who are you?" I cautiously turned to face him and saw his incredibly gorgeous face in the moonlight, but there was no emotion on it, not even in his eyes.

His hair is an ocean blue with a fringe up cut style, his eyes are grey with an almond shape, he has an aquiline nose, and I couldn't identify his skin tone because of the darkness and all I could see was his face. I took a look at his attire, is it a uniform? Maybe he's a student. I redirected my attention to his face, my sight drawn to his crimson, downward-turned lips.

"I said who are you?" He repeated the words coldly. I turned to face the Adjantal's body after he gave me a serious gaze.

"It is better if you don't know." If his voice is cold, mine is even colder.

Even though he couldn't see it, I turned around and smirked, so I covertly left a piece of fabric with the mark of a half moon and the word 'MOON' inscribed on it.

Who I am? I am the woman you would never predict. You should always expect unexpected things from me.
