Chapter 3 - 4. The Rochdale Luxury Condo

Dalton left the eight-star hotel after finishing his meal, and as he turn to look at the entrance behind him, where Lydia was leading a few attendant to bid him farewell, he thought the world suddenly became wonderful.

What's so great about Sandra? I can even build my own playboy mansion if I want now! Now, what's next on the list.... Get a house, of course.

He was long done living in the campus dorm. Though four of them shared a room, only two were living there, as the other pair had rented appartment with their girlfriends.

Dalton, too, had thought about renting a place with Sandra, but she refused no matter what. Just then, his heart twinged as the thought of Sandra sleeping with Jonah within days seeing each other come to him.

F**k, I knew I should've just done it. To think I let Hughes, that b*stard, get to the cherry! He cussed.

Just then, Dalton's janky, pre-owned phone rang, and he check to see it was a call from his roommate, Patrick Llyod.

Though Patrick had moved out and live with his girlfriend, they had still lived in the same quaters for a little over a year, so they are still very tight.

Plus, the accomodation fees were tight to the tuition fees, so no one else moved in since Patrick and other roomates had paid their fees. Thus, they would return to the dorm every now and then, and the four of them would play video games together.

The second Dalton answer the phone, Patrick's anxious voice come from the other end of the line. "Dal where are you?the three of us are now at the infirmary, but, Dr. Chapman said you've already left. We heard what happened, please don't do anything crazy. Look at the bright side, out with the old, in with the new. When you're feeling better, we'll hold a party and find you a better chick."

Dalton was still rather touched to hear that from his friends. "What the heck are you thinking, Pax?! As if I'll do anything crazy. Don't worry about me. I'll be back real soon."

"Really?"

"Really."

"Then tell me where you are now. we'll go to you."

"Don't I'm already home don't worry; I'll definitely come back in a few days!"

"Really?"

"Of course."

"Yeah, it's good to go home and take your mind off things as well. Don't forget, you still have family members who love you and you also have us."

"Alright, I'm not that crazy. Relax, I'm hanging up now."

The Rochdale Luxury Condo was the most expensive mid-rise condominium in all of Rochdale at an average price of two hundred thousand and above per unit.

Ofcourse, it also had the best geographical location as it was surrounded by a river by only one entrance into the building, so the view here is second to none.

There were only six blocks to the condominium, with each block coming up to 38 floors, and the smallest unit at a little over two hundred square feet while the largest was a little over ten thousand. This was truly where rich gathered. So many luxury car's were parked in the parking lot that a car worth below million wouldn't dare enter out of embarrassment.

When Dalton arrived at the Rochdale's sale office, the place looked rather empty, with only six female real estate consultant's chatting each other in group's of two or three, and to Dalton dismay, none of them come up despite having seen him.

The condominium had been open for sale for over three years, but not all the units had been solved off yet as the place was seriously expensive when a small unit already cost a dozen thousand. Not everybody could afford such a price.

There was quite a crowd when it first opened for sale, but with time, those who could afford it have already bought it within two years, and those who couldn't afford it still couldn't do it this day.

This, most of the staff who joined on the first day had left with time and also with few million, as a unit could cost a dozen million and up to billion, so the staff could already bag good money with just the commission. Back then the commission was just 0.2%, but now it has brought up to 1%, and yet they could barely sale two units within a year.

Most who stay were just looking to get the basic salary.

When they saw Dalton, they assumed right away that he wasn't here to buy a unit judging from his outfit, so they continue with the chat, having no intention of attending to Dalton.

Meanwhile, Dalton felt rather awkward as it was obvious those chatting had no intention of attending to him, and there wasn't anyone at the front desk, so he didn't know

Who to reach out to.

But fortunately, a young woman in her late twenties came out of the washroom a couple minutes later.

Josephine Church had joined the team as real estate consultant just a month ago, and it was thanks to her maternal uncle for giving a gift worth ten thousand that she managed to join.

She was from a small town, and she had thought she would make big bug by selling luxury condominium, but who'd have thought she hadn't managed to sign a deal after joining the team after joining over a month?

She could literally count with her fingers the total number of people who had come to look at the units in the last month's, and those veterans rushed to attend to the visitors as soon as they come in, living her with zero chances. Plus, not even a single unit had been sold from the time she joined.

On this day, she found a young man about her age standing in the hall, and veterans seemed to have no intention of attending him so she went over asking, "Are you here to check the condo, sir?"

"Yes!" Dalton answered, delighting Josephine.

Finnally, a chance to show the customer around.

"Then, what type of housing unit are you looking at, sir?"

"What do you guys have?"

At that, Josephine introduced what they had to him in detail.

As there actually weren't many unit left, Dalton didn't have many to choose from.

In the end, he chose five thousand square foot unit on the 22nd floor at block 3.

With that, Josephine took the key from the front desk, and the two headed off to the unit while those in the sale office began gossiping.

"Who does he think he is to come and check out the units here? Anybody can tell he's a loser with the off-the-rack clothes he's wearing. Does he even know where he is at?"

"Tell me about it. He'll already has to slave his life away to afford one square foot here. Only a rookie like Josephine will show him around. She's just wasting her time."

"Maybe he's from the countryside and has no idea what the housing price here is like. I bet it'll scared the sh*t out of him when he learnt the price here. hahaha."

"Yeah, we'll have a good drama to watch when he's made his decision."

Two hours later, Josephine and Dalton return to the sale office and sat at the table at the edge of the looby. Meanwhile, Josephine got him some refreshments.

"What do you think of the unit, Mr. Liddle?" Josephine ask as she sat accross him.

"I'm not too pleased with it. Block 3 isn't placed well. So you still have any units available in blood 1?"

He thought Block 1 was the best place, and since he's going to buy a unit, he'll get the best when he was far from needing a budget.

"Please hold on, Mr. Liddle, while I check for you."

At that, Josephine picked her tablet and search for Dalton.

"Here's the thing, Mr. Liddle, because Block 2 has a better placement, only 1 unit is left, and it's located on the top floor. It's a large penthouse, taking up the 37th and 38th floors. It's Block 1 ultimate suit. The total area comes up to 4.2 thousand square feet, and the price is slightly higher. I advise you don't get this one."

"Is that so? Can we take a look?" Dalton ask to check the unit out before even asking about the price.

"Well, we can, but..."

"That's it then. Let's take a look at it first." Dalton interjected.

After debating, Josephine answered, "Alright, please hold on while I get the key."

When Josephine returned with the key and was about to head to Block 1 with Dalton, an elegant looking veteran in her thirties spoke up. "Josephine, are you guys heading to the ultimate suit in Block 1?" She overhead their conversation as she was close.

"We are."

"No offence, Josephine, but not just anyone can come and look at the units here, let alone the ultimate suit in Block 1. Everything in there was designed by famous designer from overseas. What if someone broke something? Who's going to pay for the damage then?"

"I'll be careful, Miss. Claire."

"You're new here, Josephine, so you don't know the ins and outs of our field. People like need to be good at reading people. Look at him. Do you think he looks like he can afford a unit here?"

"I trust that, Mr. Liddle isn't that kind of guy."

"Sigh, if you're not gonna listen, do whatever you want. But you have to make sure the floor is clean before you leave. Don't leave any footprints, got it?"

"Got it."

With that, Josephine took Dalton straight to the ultimate suit in Block 1.
