Chapter 13 - Elizabeth shows her evil

She tried the fancy food at the banquet once, such as roasted swans and peacocks, but she vomited after eating it. And she realized these ostentatious things were just to show off the host's financial resources. It's just a symbol, not for people to eat. And the rest of the dark cuisine should not be tried easily too. Probably only serious barbecue and bread and fruit can be eaten at the banquet.

Because of these strange dishes, Elizabeth felt herself getting thinner daily. She looked down at her breasts in distress, and then at the completely unappetizing food. In the end, she could only use a fork to pull out the omelet and had two more bites.

After finishing the omelet, Elizabeth wiped her mouth lightly and her eyes fell on the red wine next to her. After hesitating for a few seconds, she reached out took a glass, and took a sip.

The mellow aroma of wine rippled between her lips and teeth. Elizabeth narrowed her eyes comfortably and drank the remaining sip. Then she put the cup on the table and signaled the waiter behind her to pour the wine.

A hand held the bottle in front of the glass, slowly pouring red wine into the glass. Elizabeth took the glass and was about to turn around and continue drinking, but she suddenly realized something was wrong.

She stopped and looked up. Brown hair, green eyes, broken eyebrows, this look!

Isn't this the male protagonist? Why did he become an attendant? !!!

Ares bent down to pour the wine, straightened up, and backed away, without even glancing at her.

Elizabeth pursed her lips and looked at the clothes he wore that were more decent than before. Then she looked at the other equally good-looking attendants around her and finally understood that he was recruited as a helper because of his good looks.

When some nobles held grand banquets, they often rented good-looking slaves from slave camps to work as helpers at large prices to show their family's financial resources.

This fits the character of Tristan's mother very well, but...

Elizabeth looked down at her wine glass, suddenly afraid to drink.

She was not a good drinker. If she was drunk and bumped into the male protagonist, she might hug the male protagonist's thigh and beg him for her life. Elizabeth imagined the scene for a moment, frowned, and put the glass far away.

Elizabeth was trying to avoid danger, but others looked like she disliked the slave who poured wine, so she even stopped drinking her favorite wine.

Tristan laughed. He poured himself a glass of wine in a good mood, raised the beautiful glass, and took a sip. He casually glanced at Ares behind Elizabeth and then looked away.

He wanted to bring this slave here to test Elizabeth tonight, but it was unnecessary. How could his beautiful Little Rose tolerate such a humble and dirty slave?

Opposite Elizabeth was leaning against a chair and fanning lazily. Because they were sitting face to face, she could intuitively feel his emotional changes, but she was not at all curious about what this stupid man was thinking. Instead, she cared more about when Viscount Karl would come to the banquet. She had something serious to ask him to do.

Elizabeth glanced around and saw no trace of Karl. She turned her head and looked at Bili not far away. Just as she was about to ask her, a faint slap came from the table beside her.

Elizabeth was startled and subconsciously turned her head to look, and saw Sophia looking angrily at an old man with a withered face. The old man's face was slapped red, obviously by Sophia.

The old man was about fifty years old. He was extremely thin, so thin that he was almost skin and bones. He was so suddenly slapped that he could hardly stand upright, but he still apologized tremblingly: "Miss Sophia, please forgive me. I am not intentional."

Elizabeth glanced at the table. There were a few drops of red wine on the pure white tablecloth. Maybe he didn't hold the wine properly and spilled a few drops, which offended Sophia.

The old man's haggard face was full of panic and fear, and his short and thin body was shaking constantly.

He was probably extremely scared, there were already tears in his cloudy eyes, and his pale and peeling lips were trembling slightly. He apologized repeatedly, carefully and tremblingly wiping the red wine stains on the table with his sleeve, hoping to be forgiven.

But how could Sophia forgive him? She suddenly raised the fork and thrust it into the back of his wrinkled and deformed hands, so fast that Elizabeth couldn't react.

The old man had a sore head and trembled, sobbed, and reached out to grab the fork, but he did not dare to pull it out. He only shed muddy tears and begged pitifully for mercy.

The people at the table casually glanced at each other and continued to enjoy the food and red wine. No one glanced twice.

Elizabeth also withdrew her gaze. Sofia's sharp voice and the old man's cry for help rang in her ears. She lowered her hands expressionlessly and pinched the fan in her palm until it was deformed. Only when there was a clear pain in the palm of her hand could she resist the urge to kick Sophia out.

Elizabeth's grandfather was a kind-hearted little old man who was so happy every day. He loved her very much. When she was a child, she would go to the little old man wherever she was wronged. As long as there was a little old man, no one could hurt her.

She also loves her grandfather very much, and she respects and loves all older people.

In modern times, if she saw someone hurting and bullying the elderly like this, she would never tolerate it, but this is an evil slave-owner society, and she has a damn character set.

There was a biting coldness in Elizabeth's blue eyes. She lowered her long eyelashes to cover her emotions and kept telling herself that Sophia would let the old slave go when she was done venting her anger.

But it was obvious that Elizabeth underestimated Sophia's viciousness. After beating and scolding him and making the old man's hands bloody, she still didn't stop and turned around to call the guards.

"Drag this old thing outside and give it to Bass to discipline him properly." Sofia's voice was sharp and vicious.

Bass is the steward of the Tristan family. He is strict and cruel. Countless slaves die at his hands every year.

It was just that he spilled a few drops when he poured the wine with shaking hands, but she wanted the old man to die!

Normally, this old man should not appear at the banquet and pour wine for Sofia.

Elizabeth's hand holding the fan trembled. Listening to the old man's sobbing begging, she finally couldn't bear it anymore.

she released her stiff hand, put down the fan, raised her hand to pick up the red wine glass, and shook it. She glanced down at the table that was shaking slightly due to Sofia's movements, and casually put the glass on the edge of the table, then the high heels under her skirt slowly stepped on the tablecloth that fell on the floor.

At the same time, the guard came over and strangled the little old man's neck. Sofia cursed a few times before pulling out the fork stuck in the back of the old man's hand.

The table shook slightly. Elizabeth looked forward, touched the tablecloth with her high heel, and stepped slightly. The red wine glass on the edge of the table fell, and the red wine inside poured out, staining Elizabeth's skirt.

The glass rolled from the hem of the skirt onto the wooden floor, making a rolling sound.

Everyone at the table stopped moving and focused their attention on Elizabeth.

Elizabeth lowered her head and looked at the hem of her skirt which was stained with wine. She was silent for a moment, then raised her head as if in disbelief. She looked at Sophia and then looked down at the hem of her skirt.

The guard restrained the trembling little old man and did not dare to move, and everyone at the table also did not dare to breathe.

Tristan frowned and took out the silk handkerchief from his arms. Just as he was about to stand up, Elizabeth in front of him stood up on the table. She didn't yell, she just turned around and took two steps, taking down the heavy candlestick from the wall. Then she walked towards Sophia, lowering her eyes and gently blowing out the candles on the candlestick.

Her expression could be called peaceful, but her blue eyes were cold.

As the candlelight was extinguished, Sofia's strong composure slowly collapsed, and she turned her eyes for help to Avril. But Avril frowned and turned her head away, not looking at Sofia.

Sofia lost her arrogance. She apologized in a panic: "I'm...I'm sorry, Your Highness, I didn't mean it. Please forgive me. I am willing to compensate you for double the amount. Please, please forgive me..."

"Bang." Before she could finish her words, a dull crash sounded, and Sophia cried out in pain, covering her head and falling to the ground.

Her wails were sharp and ear-piercing, but no matter how she shouted, no one responded, and some people even started eating.

A young lady from a poor family and the daughter of the owner of the Rose manor, these aristocrats who tend to be in favor of others know very well which side to take.

Elizabeth beat her harder and harder, hitting Sofia with the heavy candlestick in her hand, pushing her closer to the corner.

Sophia cried and screamed, begging Elizabeth for forgiveness. Just when Sophia thought she would die here today, the candlestick hit the corner of the wall and broke with a "click".

Elizabeth's hand holding the candlestick paused, and she threw the candlestick away, but it was obvious that she was still angry.

It was well known that Elizabeth didn't like people sitting next to her during meals, but tonight Sofia sat down without any scruples. Not only did she sit down, but she also showed her authority in front of her and made a fuss next to her, even leaving her dining table covered in blood. There is a high probability that it was intentional, but how dare Sofia, a daughter of a down-and-out family, dare to provoke Elizabeth? Someone must be encouraging her and supporting her.

No need to ask, this person must be Avril.
