[During this boss fight there will be three hard difficulty worm bosses!]
Say what now!?
Immediately the worm's body that was still on fire began to writhe and split into two more. Even bigger than before with all three being forty feet tall and that was just what Edgar saw coming out of the ground!
"Oh shit! Definitely hard mode!"
He jumped back a few times to get some distance between himself and the worms but they were immediately on him. One was on fire but he could tell that it wasn't his own fire anymore. A feeling in the back of his head told him that this fire WOULD hurt him.
It tried to slam him but as he jumped out of the way the second worm launched an ice boulder from its mouth. It wasn't that fast but as soon as he was about to land the third worm blew wind out of its mouth at the ice boulder and increased its speed at him!
They were working together and strategizing against him! Was it individual intelligence or was it the system that gave them their intelligence? He didn't think it was the magic system since the system felt like an extension of what actually created the worms versus being the entity making them.
Edgar tried to lean out of the way mid jump but still got clipped by the ice boulder and launched him back making him crash into the ground. The boulder crashing off to his left making the ground shake.
Edgar's shoulder was hit directly but even though it wasn't broken it definitely still hurt a lot. As he got his breath he rushed back to his feet and ran to the ice boulder. He took the Chaos Blades and hid himself behind it before stabbing it, turning and running before gripping the chains and pulling as hard as he could to pick the ice boulder up and swing it in half a circle before allowing the magic that let the chains lengthen themselves happen. They kept getting longer as they headed to the worms before sending a huge wave of fire down the chains and causing the boulder to explode into steam.
It caused the worms that were rushing him to stop and take damage from the immense heat of the steam around them. They weren't given time to recover before an awoken frost Axe connected to the Fire worm's head and launched it backwards. Immediately followed by the Chaos Blades plunging into the Ice worm's body before being ranked forward out of the steam and into the Draupnir spears that Edgar put in front of him to stab the worms body into.
"GET OVER HERE!" He bellowed from the pit of his stomach. After pulling the Ice worm into the spears Edgar made the blades and spears explode at the same time causing the a huge explosion that when the head erupted into fire it launched the flames straight into the air.
Not forgetting the Wind worm he jumped around the Ice worm and pulled up to bring the worms corpse over him with the head still spewing fire and slammed it into the steam cloud where the other worm was causing a smaller but still deadly explosion that cause another screech to come from inside the steam.
Edgar quickly took the chance to look at the Fire worm but immediately had to dodge because of the flames that came his way. After seeing the axe in the side of the worm's head he noticed the worm slowly freezing. If he was able to avoid the worm long enough it would be completely frozen giving him the opportunity to shatter it.
Sticking to that idea he immediately bum rushed the steam cloud while avoiding the Fire worm's attacks. He still heard the Wind worm streaking and even though it was causing damage to his ears as he got closer he made another Spear before throwing it forward and calling another and throwing that one too.
And another.
And another.
And another!
AND ANOTHER!
"Just fucking die!"
Edgar just couldn't stop conjuring spears before his last Spear was plunged directly into the worms neck where, even though he didn't need to, Edgar yelled out "Explosion!"
Like artillery fire the noise it made was deafening. One after another the spears started exploding slowly knocking the Wind worm's body out of the hole it came out of.
The higher it got the more Edgar could see around him. Looking for the Fire worm he couldn't see it but since he could tell where the Leviathan Axe was he immediately faced that direction before his eyes opened wide seeing the worm already in the middle of lunging at him mouth wide open.
Thinking quickly Edgar used the grip on the Spear plunged in the Wind worm's neck to lean back while turning the worm over causing the Fire worm to bite into the Wind worm instead of him. It didn't stop the Fire worm from plunging the Wind worm's body into the ground with him with it.
After the crash Edgar tried moving but saw that he was stuck under the Wind worm's body. He tried to push out from under it but couldn't get good leverage to move it even though he should've been able to lift it. As he struggled to get his hands under the body he heard the Fire worm moving causing to try and rush to escape before it attacked.
Just as he got free and stood up he was knocked to the side and immediately felt what he was pretty sure was a broken rib.
As he landed and got to his knees he tried breathing in without feeling like he was sucking in smoke. The Fire worm started crawling towards him with its mouth open ready to swallow him whole.
Edgar just looked at it as the pain from the broken rib slowly started getting easier to deal with and saw the Fire worm slowing down little by little and as it got closer it got even slower before completely stopping right in front of him.
Edgar took one more deep but painful breath before saying, "Well at least everything worked out. As half assed as that plan was it was quick let me focus on each worm one at a time."
He got up and inspected the damage he took. Even though there was some blood here and there where he got cut by crashing into the ground he wasn't feeling as bad as he thought he would. Even the broken rib felt like it was slowly healing and didn't even hurt that much anymore.
He walked around the Fire worm's head and saw his Axe still feeding ice magic into it before grabbing the handle and pulling it out. He got into a bat swinging position before stepping forward, twisting his hips, and BOOM shattering the Fire worms head into frost bits slowly causing the rest of the body to break apart.
Prompts from the system started appearing in front of him with new info.

That last one surprised Edgar. That was the same material that his weapons used to become better in the game! He was able to get a material to get stronger immediately after his first quest!
He picked up the Primal Flame which seemed to be going back and forth between a blue, red, and white fire. After thinking about which weapon to upgrade he made his decision with the Leviathan Axe. It was the first weapon that Kratos started with in his new life in the game. It would be the same one that he started upgrading in his chance in this new life he was creating.
He pulled out the axe in his right hand while holding the Primal Flame in his left and a prompt showed up in front of him.
[Would you like to level up the Leviathan Axe?]
After confirming the flame rushed into the axe blade and seemed the build up in pressure while lighting up with a bright blue through the grooves of the blade and wooden handle. After a moment it went away and another prompt came out!
[Congratulations on leveling up the Leviathan Axe! It is now Level 2/10 and has increased the damage it inflicts as well as how fast it applies ice damage. It now acts as and extension of your mind. While before you could will it back to your hand if you chose, now you can use what is essentially telekinesis and make the axe move to and fro and attack and defend depending on what you want it to do.]
"I can use telekinesis on the axe?" Immediately he tossed the axe in the air and willed it to stay suspended in the air. His mind blew when it followed what he thought. He wanted it to flip and turn and it did exactly what he wanted it to. He then tried some of the battle applications this could have. Seeing how fast he could make it attack and even made it slam into the ground with a frost awaken attack.
It slammed just as hard as if he swung it himself. After calming down from his excitement he looked at the Medium Health Stone. The system said it helped regenerate health and energy before putting it away in his ring. Even though the implications of bettering health with a stone was interesting he was very curious about the Knowledge Stone of the Earth. What exactly would this give him?
As he grabbed the perfectly round and smooth stone he was able to see that it was an exact replica of what the Earth looked like from space. It was basically a smooth globe made of stone. As he kept inspecting the stone he noticed a small light coming out of it right where...he was supposed to be. Here. In South California.
It was a faint blue light that he noticed was slowly sucking his magic out. He figured that was what he needed to do to activate it and when he did he was taken into what appeared to be a house with a fire place and table with a window showing a view of...nothing. Absolutely nothing.
It was like the sky and ground was the darkest color ever known. If there was anything on the otherside he definitely couldn't see it.
He looked at the table in front of him and saw a beautiful woman with lightly tanned shin and green hair. She had a green fluffy dress that cut off at the knees that looked like it let her run in. She didn't have any shoes or socks on had green nail polish on her nails and toes.
"If you're seeing this then that means this is the first time you're speaking to me. I know this is very confusing and you're most likely very scared. I promise that even though nothing makes sense right now, in the future everything will." The unknown lady spoke while looking slightly sad. As if she was upset that Edgar might be upset at her but he couldn't for the life of him figure out why?
"This message is meant to give you the first hint about what is happening and what you should do next. It will also begin a long term quest for you that will over time explain everything about what has occurred, what is occurring, and what will occurr in the future."
"All I can say right now is that the reason why this is happening to you is because I caused it to happen."
What!
"I know that sounds bad but it needs to happen. You need to prepare. Everyone on Earth needs to prepare. There is something much bigger going on that no one has even the smallest iota of an idea about and we are wholly and unequivocally unprepared for what is to come. You need to pursue the quests given to you and challenge the higher difficulties with as much fervor as you can. No. You must! It is quite possibly the most important choice of action you can make in pursuit of preparing for the future."
She kept talking but the more she talked the more lost Edgar became. She was the cause for what happened? How? And follow the quests? He was already doing that but he needed to hurry up how fast he did it? That was insane! He got fucked up during the quest boss fight on hard. How would the next boss be if not harder than that? He needed to rest and make sure his parents were okay.
"You'll find out more in the future but this is all I can say for now. I know that the quests will be difficult which is why I'm giving you this."
