"Sorry," I grunted, walking around a still twitching Jamie. "Next time you decide to get kidnapped by a government agency, I'll make sure to bring a change of clothes with me when I save you."
"If you don't mind, it would be appreciated," smirked Paul with a shrug of his shoulders. The man was bleeding from the pounding he had taken from Jamie, but still, the smile on his face never wavered a bit.
Crouching down behind him, I looked at the metal chains tying him to the chair. This really wasn't going to be easy. The cuffs were solid and intended for shifter use.
"Give me a minute," I said with a tight smile on my face. I was well aware of how little time I had left before a bomb was dropped on the place. As a mouse, I might be able to survive it with only a bit of damage, but Paul wouldn't be that lucky.
And I hadn't gone through all of this trouble to save him from the humans, only for the shifters to end up killing him.
