I looked at the man in front of Lucien, his black robe reminding me of an extra from a particular vampire movie. Why did the villains always think that a robe made them look intimidating? It really made them look like nothing more than a joke.
"I assume you are part of the Shifter's Council?" I continued, content to be in Raphael's arms.
"I am," replied the man, raising his chin and pushing his chest out with pride. But that was fine; pride always went before the fall. I just hope his fall from the top didn't end up killing him.
Ah, who was I kidding? I had no problem if the fall killed him as long as I didn't have to clean it up.
When he didn't follow up that statement with a name or anything along those lines, I looked up at Raphael. "Where is Bane?"
