I listened to Councilman Anderson's sputtering reasons as to why I could not fulfill my promises. After he continued to drone on and on, I simply interrupted him.
"I don't think you understand, Councilman," I said slowly as he was going on and on about all the punishments I would be facing if I made a move against the Silverblood pack or the Council. "This is my world; you're just living in it."
I quickly hung up the phone, missing for a second the ability to slam down the phone on the prick. Pressing a button wasn't nearly as satisfying. The next time I called him, I would call from Paul's house, where he had all the old-school phones and toys.
"Sweetheart, I think you need to get laid," chuckled Bane as he carefully took the phone out of my hand before giving it back to Caleb. "How about this, I'll take care of the pack and Council, and when you come up for air, you can give me a call?"
