"Ah, good!" grunted Bane strolling toward the six of us as Damien carried me into the audience room. "You are all here. I honestly didn't think you would be coming up for air for the next few months. Clearly, you don't know how to properly take care of your mate."
The sound of Bane's voice melted away any tension that I was carrying, and I smiled brightly at him. "I missed you too much," I said, laughing as Damien put me down onto my own two feet.
"Sweet," murmured Bane, pulling me into his arms. "But we both know that is a lie."
There was a gasp around the room at his words, like he was going to rip me apart for lying to him.
"You didn't even know that I was here," he continued, shifting so that his arm was around my shoulders as he guided me to the only chair in the room. Gently pushing me into it, he went to go stand just to my right.
