Scott continued to ruffle through the paperwork and Lucien had to wonder for a second if he really cared about his teammate slowly dying in front of him.
Not like it really mattered to Lucien, there were still more soldiers in this place to go through if necessary and his wolf was greatly enjoying the feeling of the life slipping out of the man in front of him.
"What did you say your mate's name was?" asked Scott, interrupting Lucien's train of thought.
"Adaline," replied Lucien, realizing for the first time that he had no idea what her last name was. "Addy for short."
"Wait," grunted the soldier that took Scott's place. He looked over his shoulder at his leader, his face paling like all the others had. "As in Caleb's Addy?"
The second those words were out of his mouth, the hold that Lucien had on his wolf snapped.
