Chapter 53
Narrator Pov:
"Did we have to do that?," Snotlout asks as he pulls off his mask.
"Yes, think about it. My father sent that officer back for interrogation, but they were attacked so the officer was to be killed. We are completely unknown, there is nothing to give a clue to our identities, and we helped out my father. He might be able to find something out, plus they were targeted by Eugene," Hiccup replies, taking his own mask off.
"The thing that I am surprised about, is the Twins being able to shoot that well. How on earth did that happen when you had no weapons and were in the forest for over 3 years?," Charlie asks.
"We don't know, we gave them bows and they bulls-eyed everything. We managed to get a hunting rifle abandoned in the woods, and the same thing happened," Mia answered.
"You guys are just to crazy, but that is what I love about Hunter," Charlie said.
"Now we best be getting to Fishlegs. It is already late and then we need to hightail it back to the school. Hiccup and Astrid's computers are still there," Jake informs them.
"Right," Hannah responded and the rest nodded. With that they continued on down the road, heading away from the mountain, through the security checkpoint they had busted through, and back into the town of berk, changing the color and plates of the car to the color described in the report to Eugene.
They ended up at Dragon Electronics at the end of the ride. They parked and exited, entering the store Fishlegs was preparing to close. "What is it this time?," Fishlegs asked, having been assured they were done earlier.
"Something came up, lets go sit in the back room and then we'll talk," Haydon informed him. The stores layout had the desk to the left of the entrance along the entire wall. The rest of the store had various products Haydon had made and had commissioned that were also sold here. They were of the highest quality.
At the back left of the store, which was less than 20 feet from the entrance, there was a counter on a hinge. This was so that it could be lifted up and employees could enter into the back. The store also had the silent alarm made by Jake, which they also sold a separate version for the public at a perfect price for how much it took to make, but also so most could afford.
You then had the door to the back, which was the rest of the 40 by 40 building. The roof was a gable roof with a patio on the loft for over looking the entrance, while being covered by the roof from snow. The second floor was Fishleg's area where he lived, the first floor was the store and storage area. The basement, which they called the back room, was a little different.
You had the normal basement, it was also storage and where most of the electronics for things running in the store were. Those electronics being the lights under the counter, the screens playing on the wall, the security system's decoy, the train running around the upper part of the first level in the store, and the bookshelf with a multitude of manuals.
On the official building plans, it was said that they stopped here at 30 feet by 40 instead of 40 by 40 due to bedrock. It was the same for the plans on the shelf. But if you grabbed the 3 inch thick book labeled The Dragon Manual, in reality it was just very thick covers with one page saying yell very loudly which Jake had found in the forest, it would open the bookshelf.
With that you could enter into the remaining 10 by 40 space. There you had a panic/meeting room. "How did I not know this was here?! I checked everything!," FIshlegs exclaims, surprised that he had not known about it.
"Because I did not tell you about it. It is not on the building records as I had Jake build this entire thing. She did it when there was not even a neighborhood here. If you remember correctly, building has shot up in the past 2 years, this neighborhood did not exist then. I had her build it around a year before that, 6 months into the accident when I was able to walk around without a limp and had my business set up," Hunter informs Fishlegs.
"So what was it you needed to tell us?," Charlie asks Jake.
"I didn't tell the police because it is now obvious that some work for Eugene. Everything I used I put a special chemical on that is traceable, what the US might use on certain bills to track cartels and such. We will sue that to find the drives and papers. That was the entire reason for this," Jake informs them.
"You can leave it to us, Thorston and Thorston Extraordinaire, detectives of Berk," The twins say in sync, leaning against each others back.
"Well, the only detectives," Ruff says a little quiet.
"Incorrect my dear sis, the only Private detectives," Tuff replies.
"Just shut up you two, so do you have a device to track this stuff?," Hiccup asks Jake.
"Yes, it is in here somewhere," Jake says. With that she goes over to the shelves and rumbles through them until she pulls out a device. A scanner of sorts.
"When will we be doing this?," Astrid asks.
"Tomorrow, as they likely stole the paper reports to frame someone. They will say that they hid the other thing somewhere and send them to prison for no reason," Emma informs them.
