Chapter 49
Narrator Pov:
Days to weeks passed and school started. Everyone was enjoying life and now Halloween was right around the corner. Eugene had kept quiet for some time, the government has yet to reach out to the gang about the sponsorships and stuff as well. Let's go check in on the disciplinary committee.
"Alright, so far this year things have been going smooth. But as Halloween is here people will be dressing up in costumes. That means it will be harder to identify students or possible intruders that security missed. We have an event here on the 28th, the Saturday before Halloween. That is the most likely time that stuff will be happening. I'm sorry, I know that some of you want to attend, but this is when most incidents will be happening," Jake informs everyone.
"Got it," They reply.
"Onto other news, the students will be going off campus on the 31st for Halloween. They will be allowed to trick or treat in the city, meaning basically everyone will be there. But some will stay behind, and yet again that means there will be a lot of incidents. Before the students leave it will be our responsibility to make sure they locked their rooms, windows, and more," Jake continues.
"Roger," They reply.
"During these two separate events is the most likely time for vandalism, stealing, and more. If anyone is found breaking windows, busting open doors, spray painting, stop them with force if necessary. We will only be responsible for watching over the dorms and student club rooms and closets. Basically where students possessions are, the teachers will be watching over their rooms and making sure none of the papers are stolen. We will watch for their material possessions, club possessions, and stuff like band equipment," Jake finishes.
"Alright, my turn then. The student council will be holding the event Saturday in the arena on top of the school. I would like it if some of the disciplinary committee would watch out for some things. Normally the arena is closed unless there is an event and when there is it is watched by teachers and older students at the top of the stands. But due to the nature of this event, anyone can sit anywhere, so I would like it if you could watch for potential suicide attempts or dare devils," Charlie informs the group.
"Sure, we will be able to do that. Now we will have job assignments for tomorrow and Tuesday. We will be stretched thin tomorrow, so stay on your toes and keep watch. Also, those in relationships will not be put together as they will have a tendency to forget about their duties. Sir Ulgerthrope and Haydon you will be patrolling the boys dorm. Harper and Freya, you will be patrolling the girls dorm," Jake begins.
"Charlie will be up at the event, Fury and Elmia, you will go as well. I will be patrolling the club rooms with my sister if the teachers allow it. Give a call on the radio if you are ever in need of something. Haydon and Ulgerthrope, you are allowed to split up in case of an emergency. Sorry but Harper and Freya you will not be allowed to due to Harpers pregnancy. I don't care what you say and that is final," Jake continues.
"If they need help down here, Fury, Elmia, you go down but make sure one of you stays there. I will come running if I am able to. Now for Tuesday, Charlie, Fury, and Elmia, you will be patrolling the student clubs with me then instead of what we are doing tomorrow. The teachers will help out if possible tomorrow. If there is nothing else we will end this meeting today and go out to the city for dinner," Jake informs them.
There are no complaints and they leave. They lock up the room and head out to Jake's truck. There they meet the twins and Emma. "How was the meeting?," They ask.
"Great," Jake responds. With that they all pile in and head out, Fishlegs joining them.
"They gone?," Someone asks.
"Yes, everyone from the committee and some from the council," A person replies back.
"Then lets go," The first person says, walking out from the shadows and into the afternoon light.
"Look, it's Eugene. Eugene, how are you?," A person asks the first person, who happened to be Eugene.
"Good, I have some stuff to do so I will be busy. Bye," He says, and walks off. He heads into the administration building and to the upper floor. There he looks around, making sure the cameras are disabled, before picking a lock and entering the committees room.
In another Location
"How are the students doing so far?," Stoick asks Phlegma.
"Great, all the ones you talked about have either straight A's, or close enough. Those twins fail anything not related to explosives, guns, weapons, dragons, food, the military, stone carving, and Funerals?," Phlegma replies.
"Why Funerals?," Stoick asks, weirded out by it.
"I don't know, but according to Charlie they plan on going into that in the future? I don't get it," Phlegma replied.
"I see, how is Vigeria holding on. Ever since Charlie asked us to watch her and not telling the Grimborns I have been uneasy," Stoick confides in Phlegma.
"Well, the phone Charlie gave her is even better than ours. Not only that but every time she answers a call she seems even better. We listen in and make sure nothing secure is leaked through bugs in the room. We don't know who is called, but it does originate from Hunters Isle, specifically, Viggo's office. It seems that at least 1 brother is in contact. But it seems that 1 of them is then untrustworthy, or someone is watching to make sure she is dead," Phlegma reveals.
"I still don't understand. She was rescued by Charlie and then a report came in on a building that had been attacked and the people inside killed. An she showed up just before we got the news, almost as if she was held captive there. But her and Charlie refuse to give insight into it," Stoick fusses.
