Chapter 2 - Unknown the God of Unknown

Like every other human, Kai died like an ordinary being, but in contrast, he was also being watched by a god since the very beginning, it's was the moment he was born.

The name of that god is "Unknown," they can create a whole universe and parallel worlds with just a flick of their hands.

"Wake up, mortal," A very deep voice echoed throughout my ears, forcing me to open my eyes.

"?!!"

As I opened my eyes, I was shaken and surprised to see a Gigantic mist shaped like a human figure before me.

The mist-shaped figure was so large that I was forced to look up just to see its entirety.

But no matter how hard I tried to look at it, I still couldn't see its face because it was shrouded in a dark, thick mist.

Other than this foggy human-like figure, there are also thousands, or maybe even millions, of floating clocks that have long strings tied to them.

"Wow..." I mumbled in awe.

In awe, I tried to look at the strings to see where they ended. However, all I saw was a massive black hole and a hand holding all the strings in this vast, empty space.

Continuing to observe my surroundings, I noticed numerous different types of clocks, including modern, ancient, and prehistoric ones, as well as some unfamiliar ones.

One of them was somewhat gruesome— like, how the fuck did they actually build a clock using human body parts?!!

A hand that had become the minute hand, tights that had turned into a frame, and eyeballs with numbers written on them.

But not all of them were that freaking gruesome; there were some amazing-looking clocks built from expensive stone and a clock coated in pure gold.

"Woah... amazing," I remarked excitedly, amazed at what I saw.

However, suddenly, curiosity got over me the moment I remembered the voice that I heard a minute ago.

"Bruh, I wish it wasn't that human figure," I mumbled under my breath.

However, my guess is correct.

When suddenly, a mysterious voice rang inside my head, asking me who I am.

"You finally woke, mortal." The colossal figure suddenly spoke with a huge, deep voice.

"Fuck, it talks," I mumbled, my face twisted in puzzlement.

"...Huh? Wh-w-who are you?" I stuttered, pretending to be frightened by his presence.

Why was I pretending to be scared? I didn't know; my instincts were telling me to do it.

-Fuuu...!

Suddenly, a warm gust of steamy air blew into my face.

"I'm Unknown, the father of the entire universe and the creator of parallel worlds," Unknown said with the most resounding voice you could possibly hear.

Unknown? Who is he was? A god? Is that even the name of a fucking God?!

"W-what do you want with me?" I asked, clueless.

While Attempting to appear harmless in front of this god or whatever said he was.

However, upon seeing my cowardice, Unknown seemed to become irritated once again as the air around us grew heavier.

"Ughh! Stop with that cowardice, you mortal!" Unknown yelled with his might. as his patience snapped.

Wow... what a hot-tempered god you are.

Anyway, after that, another wave of warm steam enveloped my whole body.

-Fuuuu...!

As the hot air touched my body, the atmosphere around me suddenly turned freezing cold.

"Ugh... Never mind, mortal. Do you have any idea why you're here?" Unknown asked.

Despite still appearing irritated, he still attempted to calm himself.

"Uhm.. to reward me for the good things I did when I was alive?" I replied, even though I already knew what actions I had taken during my life.

How did I know? Cuz I've been a non-listening troublemaker since kindergarten and only stopped causing problems when I graduated from high school.

I also held beliefs that didn't involve worshipping or following any kind of god; in short, I'm an atheist.

So, to be honest, I'm one hundred percent sure that I won't be going to heaven, even if I wanted to.

Hearing my words, the air around us grew heavy again.

"?!!" Fuck!! Wasn't my answer good enough? Why is he suddenly becoming angry?

Hot-tempered bastard.

"What the fuck are you talking about, mortal? I brought you here because of your achievements." Unknown said.

"Huh? Achievements? What are you talking about?" I asked, perplexed.

Bruh... I'm so confused; like, what the fuck?! What kind of achievement could I have possibly obtained?

Was I being a good human? I guess not, as far as I know from when I was alive. I only did good deeds if I knew there was something beneficial in it for me, so I guess that doesn't count.

Maybe... Is it because I'm a hard-working person? Nope, as far as I can recall, that wasn't even an achievement!

Fuck!! I can't think of anything that would make me deserving of an achievement!!

And, in the midst of trying to figure out what achievement it could be, a loud tsking sound disrupted my thoughts.

"Tsk! Tsk!!" Unknown clicked his tongue in disappointment.

"You can't even recognize your own achievement," Unknown said, looking down at me.

Although I can't see his face, I can still sense his disappointment in me for not knowing it.

"Trust me, I really don't know," I replied with an innocent expression on my face.

I mean, seriously, how could I possibly know it? When you're just staring at me with that temperamental attitude of yours?!

Aghh... If you're not actually a god, then I'll kick your balls right now.

"The achievement you obtained is when you showed that you were willing to sacrifice your life for the sake of your friend's life. In short, it's an achievement of friendship," Unknown finally explained.

"..." Hearing Unknown's words, I fall into deep silence.

What the heck? I didn't know that saving my chunibyo friend would give me such a dumb achievement.

Is that even possible? If yes, then there must be over a million people with that kind of achievement already.

Who has already met this hot-tempered god?

Anyway, now that he's said it, I still need to pretend to be pleased to make myself look harmless.

So, I smiled and stared at Unknown.

"Hehehe, of course, all for my friend!" I cheerfully said, scratching the back of my head while displaying a pleasant expression.

However, my thoughts were saying the opposite, 'What a dumb achievement is this!? For sure, this is just a scam!'

"Hohoho!" Unknown laughed like Santa Claus, and the mood seemed to become brighter.

"Now that you know, it's time for your reward, mortal." Unknown said, sweeping his giant foggy palm over the top of my head and starting to chant some unknown words.

"Úéè ť w⁸j ķœ íğ è āw" he mumbled those words as he looked at me.

Suddenly, an undyed light appeared underneath my feet, and circles containing cryptic words were drawn.

"This... is... awesome! Unknown what is this?!" I asked in awe, curious about what this glowing circle is.

"Rewarding you, of course," Unknown replied, continuing the enchantment.

"I know, but can you please be specif-?!" Aghh... I asked again but stopped as I somehow felt some pain in my foot.

"What's happening?" I mumbled confusedly.

Suddenly, my whole body began to emit an illuminating light, and then, seconds later, my feet began to slowly decay.

At first, it didn't hurt that much, but maybe that's because it started underneath my feet.

However, it slowly changed the moment I felt the pain.

"Huh? W-wait, why are my feet decaying?! Fuck! It hurts as if I'm being NTR'd!!!" I yelled in agony.

"...Mortal, I'm going to give you another chance to be reborn, but not in the same world that you used to live in; a completely different one," Unknown replied, ignoring the fact that I was in pain.

"What do you mean, like reincarnating!?" Arghhh! I yelled in agony while ignoring the fact that both lower parts of my thighs were now gone due to the decaying. "Ahh!"

Hearing my words, Unknown looked at me and answered.

"Well, it's one of the abandoned universes that I created... oh, by the way, don't worry about being watched by me because I don't have any business with you anymore. So feel free to do whatever you like in this world!!" Heh! Unknown replied, his voice laden with a mix of enjoyment as they watched my abdomen slowly disappear.

What?! Will I become a god? It seems my luck didn't betray me this time.

I gave up my life to help my life. "Ahhh!!" To my best friend and become a god in an unknown world.

Not bad, I guess. However, it's so good to be true.

But wait, now that I think about it, doesn't this sound more suspicious? It feels like a scam!

"Argghh!! You mean I will become a god in that world?!" Ahhhh!! I asked, desperately trying to keep my consciousness.

The unbearable pain scattered all over my chest, and the decay reached my ribs, slowly melting my bones.

"What?! HAHAHHAHA mortal, it looks like you misunderstood it. I know you achieved that unparalleled achievement of yours, but it's nowhere near enough to become a god or even a low-rank god." Unknown replied as they burst into laughter.

Bruh, I knew it; I misinterpreted what he said!

Anyway, his deal on reincarnating me into another world doesn't sound like a bad deal, considering that I didn't really have any kind of attachment to my old world.

Except for my little sister Kaori, who is still a kid, However she's already old enough to stand on her own.

However, I'm worried about her, if I'm being honest.

Furthermore, I don't have parents anymore to mourn over my dead body because they had already died a long time before my little sister Kaori reached her 4th birthday.

However, there are still things that I regret not having done before I died in my old world.

Such as becoming a famous person or someone who has a lot of money lying around my house.

"Ahhh!!!!" I howled in agony, not because of regrets but because of this unbearable pain that keeps torturing me.

Damn it, can you please make it faster!! I'm really going to go insane before this ends!

Why? That's because the decaying has already reached the bottom of my neck; more than eighty-eight percent of my body mass is now already gone.

And taking into consideration that I am still not losing consciousness, considering that all of this is happening to me while I'm still alive! is already, lucky enough.

"Anyways, it seems, mortal, that we have already reached the final stage of rebirthing. You may say your last wish now." Unknown asked.

My last wish? Then...

"S-stop th-the p-pa-pain!," I scream in agony.

All I want is to stop this unbearable pain that is coursing through my body.

"My bad~ don't worry about the pain. I'll temporarily stop the rebirthing and will cast a relieving spell over you so you can speak," Unknown said, as he began to mumble some unknown words, "ßpæņ-řëłvįñğ."

After the enchantment, the pain suddenly vanished.

Thank God! He really did stop the rebirthing process.

As Unknown stopped it, the decaying suddenly subsided, and the pain that had been engulfing me was now gone.

Now that the pain is gone, I think I could finally gather my thoughts.

However, before that, I was really curious about what had happened to my body, so I instinctively looked down to see myself.

To my surprise, the only thing that remained was my head. Yep, just my head.

"God damn," I mumbled in awe, not in fear.

Later, as I looked further down, I noticed a purple liquid at my bottom

No need to ask; I already know what the thing is; it's melted ice cream - Body flavor.

Hehe, I am just kidding. It seems I've gone crazy.

Anyway, while I was mesmerized by what happened to my body, the god spoke.

"You're not gonna talk?" Unknown asked, patiently waiting for my response.

"...Ooh. Sorry, I just got amazed by what happened to my body," I excitedly said, a mix of joy in my voice.

I know it's creepy, but not for me... it's amazing!

"You're one of a kind, weird mortal," Unknown awkwardly said, his voice tinted with a smile.

Hearing his words, I smiled as well before replying, "I really have nothing to say, but I have one request: just finish this rebirthing as soon as possible, damnit."

Why? That's because the ritual itself almost made me go insane!

Also, I don't want to become a mentally insane person once I get reborn in that world.

"That's all?" Unknown asked again, wanting to confirm.

"...Yes," I confirmed, giving him a warm and gentle smile.

Hearing my confirmation, Unknown began to mumble some unknown words, and seconds later, all my visions slowly turned white.

But before that, I caught a glimpse of the god's face, and it seemed like he was saying something, but I couldn't hear it at all.

All I could see were his lips moving around.

'Good luck... idiot.' Those were the last words I saw.
