"Murphy?" Murphy looked at the fairy with some confusion, "I don't understand, who gave you the courage to oppose me?"
"Murphy Darkholme." The fairy recognized Murphy as well, "You exchanged the gold you fooled from the Muggles for our gold coins, turning Gringotts into your money laundering machine. Such things will not happen again."
"What? Isn't Muggle gold still gold?" Murphy was baffled, "Don't you mine for gold?"
"Gold is just a material, while gold coins are the property of fairies." The fairy said, "Fairies may allow wizards to temporarily use the fairies' property, but you are trying to take the fairies' property as your own."
Murphy was stunned for a moment before he realized what the fairy was talking about.
This was their unique perspective on property.
In fairy law, anything made by the hands of fairies belongs to the fairies.
This includes, but is not limited to, gold coins, the Sword of Gryffindor, etc. In their view, wizards are just a bunch of thieves who have stolen their property.
However, the fairies of Gringotts have been dealing with wizards for more than a day or two, and such "fundamentalist" views on property are rarely brought up by fairies, after all, they know that wizards will not acknowledge this point, and they can't defeat the wizards.
But what's the deal with this guy?
How did such a fairy become the manager of Gringotts?
"According to you, the gold coins in my vault are all yours?" Murphy furrowed his brow.
"Not all mine, the Brin family only occupies half of the equity of the gold coins produced by Gringotts, the rest belongs to eight other families."
"Shut up!" Padlo screamed in horror, "Stop talking, Guleous! What are you talking about?!"
Murphy was puzzled, could this guy have been cursed with a soul-taking spell by Dumbledore?
But what for? To annoy him?
"However," Guleous suddenly said, "we can allow you to continue using those gold coins, but we have one condition."
"Oh?" Murphy looked at him, "Let's hear it."
"Return the fairy treasures like the Sword of Gryffindor to Gringotts." Guleous said, "You now own Hogwarts, don't you? That shouldn't be difficult for you."
"Just that?" Murphy asked, "You don't want the Philosopher's Stone?"
"Dumbledore won't give me the Philosopher's Stone." Guleous said, "He just wants to use us."
"Knowing that, you still lowered the exchange rate?"
"How else would you talk to me?"
"I see." Murphy nodded, "Then, what makes you think you're in a position to negotiate with me?"
"You don't have the Philosopher's Stone I want, yet you want to gain an advantage for nothing, asking me to bring you the Sword of Gryffindor, just to exchange for what should already be my property." Murphy looked at the dwarf across him, "Don't you think it's absurd?"
"That is the property of Gringotts, the property of fairies! I can confiscate your vault, besides fairies, no one can open those locks!"
"So, you're planning to rob me?" Murphy asked.
"That belongs to..."
However, he didn't finish his words before Murphy instantly appeared in front of him, grabbing his chin, "Forget it, let's see what's really going on in your brain. Soul Extraction!"
But in the next instant, Murphy saw a banner.
It was a battle flag, tattered and blood-stained, with a skull crudely drawn on it with charcoal, and at the top of the flag was a rotting giant's head.
Suddenly, more battle flags rose in the fog, and from afar came the sound of drums, followed by footsteps, many footsteps, as if a large army was on the move.
His gaze pierced through the fog, over countless fluttering flags, and gradually, he saw a throne of bones standing in the depths of the fog.
It was being laboriously carried by dozens of fairies, and atop the throne seemed to be something wrapped in a blood-red mist. As Murphy looked over, two amber eyes suddenly lit up within the blood mist.
Suddenly, Murphy felt a chill in his soul, and he immediately severed the psychic link with the fairy.
But at that moment, with a "pop," Guleous's head exploded in front of Murphy, flesh and brain splattering like a burst watermelon, flying everywhere.
The next instant, countless sparks surrounded Murphy, the electric fire toasting and evaporating the splattered flesh and blood near him.
Yet, a drop of blood broke through the electrical net covering his entire body, splattered on his face, and instantly disappeared.
A voice, from a great distance, echoed in the depths of his heart: "I see you."
Murphy felt a sudden sharp pain in his brain, as if something had been deeply nailed into his head.
"What is that?!" Murphy was horrified.
He immediately realized he had fallen into a trap.
Someone or some fairy or something else had attacked him through Guleous.
He immediately checked his body, but bizarrely found no discomfort, not even the spot in his head that had just hurt was unharmed.
"Mind, or soul?"
Was this where the attacker was targeting?
Then what was this method, similar to a seed of the mind?
And who was targeting him?
What did he see in Guleous's mind just now?
"Lord Murphy!" A cry of alarm woke Murphy from his shock.
It was Locke, who had come in with him, now also covered in blood, "Are you, are you okay?"
"Murder, murder!"
Padlo finally snapped back to reality, screaming in terror, and ran towards the door.
But before he could reach the door, Murphy suddenly appeared behind him, grabbed his head and twisted, breaking his neck.
"Murphy... Lord..." Locke stared at the scene in shock, trembling with fear, but the next moment, he suddenly knelt on the ground, "Mr. Murphy, thank you for killing the treacherous fairy traitor plotting rebellion! I, I will testify to Arlo!"
Murphy frowned, he had thought about dealing with Guleous before coming here, and even after figuring out what he was up to, killing him was not out of the question.
But at this moment, the blood and two fairy corpses on the ground were not in his original plan.
If he had planned to kill, he could have done it more flawlessly.
However, it's too late to say this now, Padlo's shouting must have been heard by fairies outside.
"Locke, go, gather all the fairies of Gringotts in the first-floor hall."
Then, with a thought, countless flashes of lightning sprang from behind him, turning into black birds, flying to every corner of Gringotts, sealing off all exits of this wizarding bank.
Afterward, he ordered Lassim and Winston Robinson through the "Raven Court" psychic network, "Bring the most elite and loyal personnel, come to Gringotts."
"Today, we're taking over here."
